Description

The present invention relates to a protective corner for protecting a storage surface or a wrapping of a container against damage by feet of the container according to the preamble of claim 1.

In medical facilities, such as hospitals, medical practices and similar facilities, larger trays or baskets, with or without feet, are often used to hold medical equipment and instruments, with the containers either being placed in a receiving rack or placed on a table surface. When moving on a table surface that is not sufficiently hardened, scratches can easily occur when the trays are heavily loaded and made of metal.

However, such containers are also used to hold equipment and instruments that are to be sterilized. Here, the entire container, including the instruments and equipment therein, wrapped with a vapor-permeable crepe non-woven and introduced in this way in a sterilizer or autoclave. Both during wrapping and during insertion and removal in and out of the sterilizer, the crepe web can easily be damaged by the edges of the container and in particular the feet of the container.

It is known to protect feet or corners of such containers in that eckförmig trained paper or cardboard elements are placed on or under the corner elements or feet of the container. Such protective corners remain during the sterilization of the container in the wrapping through the crepe nonwoven and are disposed of after removal of the crepe nonwoven together with this.

Such protective corners are usually made of paper or cardboard and are placed from a suitable blank. Protective corners currently available on the market consist of a cardboard blank, the base of which is provided with incisions which can be pushed together to form one Protective corner to form. The collapsed elements of the blank, however, have projections and edges which can cause damage to the crepe mat. They are also difficult to handle. Another type of protective corners consists of already preformed silicone. These can be used multiple times. However, multiple use of auxiliary products in the work flow of a sterilizer is a hindrance and should be avoided.

A protective corner made of cardboard is from the US 3,843,038 known.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a protective corner to protect a shelf or a wrap of a container that can be easily and inexpensively manufactured, is easy to set up and avoids damage to the wrapping of a container as possible.

This object is achieved by the invention defined in claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in subclaims.

The invention relates to a protective corner for protecting a storage area or a wrapping of a container against damage by corners or feet of the container, wherein the protective corner is formed from a flat blank which is unfoldable for use such that a flat base is formed, the Contains upstanding side walls on two edges.

According to the invention, the protective corner is formed from a substantially rectangular or square paperboard, paper or plastic sheet. At two adjoining edges, first and second surface parts are delimited over folding edges from the remaining base surface. The rectangular surface parts are separated by a cut along a folding edge. In the second surface part, a folding line is formed at an angle of 45 °, wherein the third surface part formed thereby is connected via an adhesive connection with the section formed by the first surface part via the folding edge of the second surface part. For collapsing and erecting the protective corners, the surface parts forming the side parts can be folded along the folded edges onto the base surface and can be erected therefrom.

The inventive design of the protective corner allows the production of a flat cardboard, paper or plastic blank, in which only two surface elements are connected by an adhesive bond. A clever design of the folded edges makes it possible that the lateral surface parts can be unfolded on the base. This makes it possible to form a protective corner, which has in the unused state as a flat element only one size, which corresponds to the size of the base area. For use, only the lateral surface parts are erected, without a telescoping of two surface parts would be required.

After use, such protective corners can be easily disposed of.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the protective corner is punched or cut out at the intersection between the first and the second surface part. On the one hand, this facilitates the folding of the side parts and, on the other hand, it avoids corner formations during use in which liquid could collect.

The outer corners of the base and / or the lateral surface portions may be rounded to avoid snagging or hemming the wrapping of a container, and also to avoid irritation of a user's hand or gloves worn by the user.

The connection between the third surface part and the folding pocket of the first surface part takes place in particular via an adhesive connection. Instead of an adhesive connection and a stamped connection can be used. As a result, it is possible to dispense with the use of an additive in the production of the protective corners.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the base surface may include a diagonal fold edge over which half of the base can be opened onto the other half so as to form the base in a double position. This can be helpful when protecting very heavy instrument baskets that exert considerable foot pressure.

The protective corner is formed in particular from cellulose cardboard, preferably a standardized GC1 cardboard. The adhesive used is temperature resistant, in particular up to 150 ° C, in order to keep the adhesive functional even in sterilization operation.

The in Fig. 1 The blank shown contains a substantially rectangular, in particular square, base area 1 and first and second area parts 2 and 3, which are delimited from the base area 1 via a first folding edge 8 and a second folding edge 9, respectively. In extension of the folding edge 9, a gap 7 and in extension of the folding edge 8 a fold line 14, via which a folding flap 4 is delimited from the first surface part 2 extends. At the intersection of the folding edges 8 and 9 is a rectangular or round opening 10th

Of the second surface part 3, a support triangle 5 is delimited over a 45 ° to the folding edge 8 extending crease line 15.

Fig. 1 also shows the option to engrave in the base 1 a diagonal fold line 11. A triangular part of the base 1 can thus be folded inwards on the remaining part of the base. This forms a double-layered base with a triangular floor plan. Further shows FIG. 1 Roundings 13 at all outer corners of the blank which may prevent potential damage to the wrapping of the container or irritation of gloves or hands.

To produce the protective corner of the first surface part 2 is folded along the folding edge 9 by 90 ° upwards. Furthermore, the folding flap 4 hanging thereon is folded in along the folding line 14 by 90 °. The second surface part 3 is also erected together with the support triangle 5 by 90 ° along the fold line 8. About the adhesive surface 6, the flap 4 is now connected to the triangular support triangle 5. Thus, the protective corner is already completely made.

By buckling the bending line 15 and further folding of the first and second surface parts 2, 3 on the base 1, a state of the protective corner can be formed, which in Fig. 2 is shown accordingly. This folded corner requires little space and can therefore be stacked in large quantities in a small space. In this state, the delivery of the protective corner.

For use, such a protective corner is brought into the use position by lifting the first and second surface parts 2 and 3 along the first and second folded edges 8 and 9. Fig. 3 shows the condition of a protective corner just before the complete erection. It can be seen that the flap 4 is connected to the support triangle 5 and the support triangle is connected via the kick line 15 with the second surface part 3, that the folding edges 8 and 9 in cooperation with the fold line 15 and the fold line 14 a combined folding joint form. Since the underside of the flap 4 touches the base 1 when unfolding and folding, there is also a self-locking of the protective corner in the unfolded state.
