Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for handling (flat) objects, in particular of hygiene articles such as diapers, bandages or the like, wherein the articles are conveyed in a product flow along a transport path and then assembled in a grouping to groups of objects, according to the preamble of the claim 1.
- the invention relates to a corresponding device according to the preamble of claim 10.
- the problem is a subsequent feeding of objects to the group. This may be necessary if individual items have been removed from the packaging stream for testing purposes or if individual items have been found to be defective during a possible inspection and have been discarded. As a rule, it is necessary to replace these items. Furthermore, it may be desirable to add items to the group that differ in one or more features from the other items. Both are currently only possible manually or not at all.
- the present invention seeks to further develop methods and devices of the type mentioned, in particular with regard to the simplest possible automatic refilling or feeding of objects.
- a method according to the invention has the features of claim 1. It is therefore envisaged that objects are introduced into the product stream in the region of an injection station before the objects are assembled into groups.
- the objects can be assembled in a simple manner in the area of the grouping station into a group according to the package format without having to take account of missing objects in the product stream. It is also possible to supply different objects, for example as packing allowance, in a simple manner.
- the objects are provided in the magazine in the area of the infeed station and removed from the latter and introduced into the product stream, wherein the articles are preferably removed from the magazine on the top side, which is located below the transport path.
- the articles in the magazine are moved upwards by a lifting device, wherein the lifting direction is controlled by a control unit in dependence on the thickness of the objects.
- a removal device for the articles from the magazine is arranged, in particular a suction belt, wherein the removal device for removing an item from the magazine by means of an adjusting device is lowered at least partially and is raised again after removal.
- the removal device for removing an item from the magazine by means of an adjusting device is lowered at least partially and is raised again after removal.
- This allows targeted delivery of articles to the product stream. If the sampling device is not lowered, the product stream can pass through the injection station uninfluenced.
- Another special feature may be that several magazines are associated with a conveyor, in particular an endless conveyor with receptacles for a large number of magazines, and are successively moved into the area of the infeed station where they are emptied by introducing the products from the magazine into the product stream. This allows the automatic introduction of a large number of objects without interrupting production for the purpose of a magazine change.
- An inventive device for solving the above-mentioned problem has the features of claim 10. Accordingly, along the transport route and at a distance from the grouping station, an entry station is provided for introducing articles into the product stream.
- a magazine for the articles can be provided in the region of the infeed station, from which they can be removed on the top side, and a lifting device is provided for transporting the articles inside the magazine, the magazine being partially closed on the top side by a cover and outside Cover a discharge opening for objects is formed and wherein preferably the lid and / or the objects are arranged slightly inclined.
- the lid which may extend over 3/4 of the magazine, for example, prevents the items from swirling out of the magazine uncontrollably. Due to the inclination of the objects and / or the lid can be safely removed from the magazine in a controlled manner only the top item.
- Another special feature may consist in that several magazines are associated with a conveyor and are successively transported into the Einschlsestation for emptying the magazines, wherein in the sluice station above the magazine an intermediate magazine is arranged, the objects first by the lifting device into the area of insects are transportable and wherein the objects from the intermediate magazine by means of a further lifting device of the removal device can be fed while the empty magazine by a filled magazine is replaced. In this way, a continuous supply of articles in the sluice station can be ensured.
- the magazines are testable for the presence of objects, wherein by means of a control unit, the conveyor is controllable such that only magazines are held with objects in the Einschlatestation.
- An advantageous feature of the magazine may be that the magazines for filling with objects are releasably attachable to the conveyor, in particular for cleaning and / or filling with objects and / or storage outside the conveyor.

- the invention will be described below with reference to a device for grouping objects 10.
- the articles 10 may be sanitary products such as diapers, sanitary napkins, wipes or the like. In the present case, the articles 10 have a flat shape. It is conceivable, of course, the use of the device in other products.
- the articles 10 are transported by a converter 11 along a transport path 12 and transferred by a filling member 13 to a further feed conveyor 14.
- the feed conveyor 14 leads past two packaging machines 15 for wrapping groups 14 of articles 10 into (film) bags 16.
- groups can optionally be fed to one or the other packaging machine 15.
- the groups can also be conveyed past the packaging machines 15, into the area of a packaging machine, not shown, for folding cartons or in the area of a packing machine, not shown, for packing.
- Fig. 2 shows in detail the transport path 12, which serves to transport the articles 10 from the converter 11 to the filling member 13.
- Transport path 12 Around Transport path 12 are provided several conveying members and other facilities, which are described in detail below:
- the objects 10 are first transported by the converter 11 between conveying drums of a first conveyor 22. Following the conveyor 22, the articles 10 pass through an infeed station 23, which is used to feed or introduce objects 10 into the transport path
- the filling device 13 feeds.
- the filling device 13 is used for inserting objects 10 into compartments of the feed conveyor 14.
- the device is controlled by a central control unit 17, which via control lines 18 with a machine control 19 for the converter 11 and a control device 20 for the conveyor 22, 24, 27 and 28 is connected.
- the infeed station 23 and the ejection unit 25 can also be controlled by the central control unit 17 between the control device 20. It is also conceivable that the control unit 17 and / or the machine control 19 and / or the control device 20 are integrated in one device.
- the article 10 are conveyed in a packing flow along the transport path 12.
- a packing flow in the present case is understood to mean that the articles 10 are transported in succession in the plane of the transport path 12.
- the objects 10 are arranged lying flat and at a distance from the respective next object 10. The distance between successive objects can be of different sizes, for example in accordance with the conveying speed or other specifications.
- the two conveyors 22, 24 are each formed as a pair of endless conveyors, wherein the conveyor belts 29, 30 thereof are guided over deflection rollers 31.
- the objects 10 are conveyed flat between the respectively facing conveyor belts 29, 30 in the transport direction according to the arrow 32.
- the distance between the conveyors 22, 24 is bridged by a further conveying member of the sluice station 23.
- a conveyor 33 which is also designed as an endless conveyor and guided over pulleys 31, so that a lower conveyor run 34 runs along the transport path 12.
- This conveying strand 34 is subjected to a negative pressure, so that the objects 10 are held in the region of the conveyor 33 on the underside of the conveying run 34.
- the conveyor 33 is thus formed in the present case as a suction belt 35, wherein by means of a vacuum chamber 36 which is connected via a vacuum connection 37 with a vacuum source, not shown, in the region of the conveying 34 a negative pressure for holding the objects 10 is generated.
- the conveyor 33 is also part of a removal device 38, which serves to remove individual articles 10 from a magazine 39 arranged in the inward transfer station 23 below the conveyor 33 or the transport section 12.
- the objects 10 are arranged lying flat one above the other in a stack 40. Laterally, the objects 10 are supported by upright walls 41 of the magazine 39.
- the magazine 39 On the upper side, the magazine 39 has a cover 42.
- the cover 42 does not extend over the entire top of the magazine 39, so that in the remaining area a removal opening 43 is formed.
- the size of the lid 42 preferably corresponds to a majority of the top of the magazine 39, in particular about 3/4.
- the objects 10 are arranged slightly inclined, namely in the conveying direction according to arrow 32 rising.
- the lid 42 has a corresponding inclination.
- the inclination of the objects 10 is achieved in that the lowest object 10 in the magazine 39 rests on a sloping surface. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this is an upper side of a lifting piece 44.
- the lifting piece 44 is part of a lifting unit 45 for transporting the objects in the direction of the removal opening 43.
- the magazine 39 is mounted transversely to the transport direction according to arrow 32 slidably.
- the magazine 39 is mounted on a support arm 46 on a pneumatic cylinder 47 and can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the pneumatic cylinder 47, as indicated in Fig. 4.
- a lift arm 48 is movably mounted on an upright track 49 in the corresponding direction.
- the rail 49 is in turn mounted on a support wall 50.
- the lifting arm 48 engages through walls of the magazine 39, namely by corresponding recesses in the region of a lower bottom wall 52 and one of the support wall 50 facing (side) wall 41 of the magazine 39th
- a special feature is the function of the removal device 38, which is explained in particular in comparison of FIGS. 3 and 5.
- the conveying strand 34 of the suction belt 35 extends for the passage of objects 10 through the inward transfer station 23 in the transport path 12, ie in the present case in the horizontal plane.
- the suction belt 35 or its conveying strand 34 can be lowered in the direction of the top of the magazine 39 to the top object 10 in the region of the removal opening 43 of To capture magazine 39 and pull out of the magazine 39.
- the entire suction belt 35 is pivoted about an axis.
- the axis is located in the region of a lateral deflection roller 53.
- the suction belt 35 is pivoted back, so that thereafter a position shown in FIG. 3 is taken, in the further objects 10 coming from the converter 11 can be passed through the Einschleurstation 23 therethrough.
- the pivoting movement of the suction belt 35 is also indicated in Fig. 5 by a double arrow 54.
- An adjusting device 65 for pivoting the suction belt 35 is described below:
- a support plate 55 is slidably mounted on a plurality of rails 56 on the support wall 50 in the upright direction. In this way, the suction belt 35 can be positioned in the transport path 12. Via a drive 57, two gears 58, 59 are driven, which are coupled together by a toothed belt 60. The gears 58, 59 are mounted on axes 61, 62, which are guided by the support plate 55.
- a lowering lever 63 is mounted eccentrically on the axle 62, so that upon rotation of the gear 59, the lowering lever 63 is raised (FIG. 3) or lowered (FIG. 5).
- the lowering lever 63 in turn is coupled to a smaller support plate 64 on which the pulleys of the suction belt 35 are rotatably mounted. As can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 5, the lowering lever 63 is coupled to the support plate 64 approximately in the longitudinal center of the suction belt 35 so that it can be swiveled about an axis of rotation in the region of the deflection roller 53, which leads to pivoting of the suction belt 35.
- the device described so far operates as follows:
- the objects coming from the converter 11 are transported along the transport path 12 in the direction of the Behellorgans 13 and in a grouping means not shown in detail, which are subsequently packaged in one of the packaging machines 15.
- the grouping device for forming the groups of articles may be associated with one of the packaging machines 15, or the filling device 13.
- the grouping device is located downstream of the infeed station 23 and placed so that the groups are formed before the articles 10 are packaged, for example into the Pouch 16.
- numerous examples can be found in the prior art. A particular construction is not relevant to the present invention.
- the suction belt 35 is moved to a position according to FIG. 5 and one or more objects 10 are removed from the magazine 39 and introduced into the packing stream. Thereafter, the suction belt 35 is moved back into the position shown in FIG. 3, so that coming from the converter 11 objects 10 can be passed through.
- objects 10 are removed from the magazine 39 when the converter 11 is out of operation or temporarily delivers no objects 10 due to a fault.
- the magazine 39 there may be objects 10 which correspond to the objects 10 originating from the converter 11.
- they are objects 10 which deviate from the objects 10 originating from the converter 11, for example have different product properties.
- the velocities of the upstream and / or downstream of the injection station 23 must be adjusted. It is conceivable, e.g. a slowdown of the converter 1 while increasing the conveying speed of one, several or all conveyors 22, 24, 27 and 28. This is done by the various controllers 17, 19, 20.
- controllers 17, 19, 20 it must be possible by the controllers 17, 19, 20 and a refilling of gaps in the pack flow.
- gaps in the product flow are signaled by the machine controller 19 of the converter 11, which gaps are then compensated by appropriate control of the injection station 23.
- one or more objects 10 in the area of the ejection unit 25 should be separated from the product stream.
- the expected gap is already filled by the control unit 17 in the area of the infeed station 23 or an additional object 10 is introduced, which by appropriate control of the conveyor 22, 24, 27, 28 later to the site of the discharged item 10 occurs.
- the converter 11 can also be controlled such that the product flow has gaps into which the different types of objects 10 are then inserted in the infeed station 23. It is also conceivable, however, that the package flow coming from the converter 1 1 is gapless, and that the gaps are formed by appropriate control of the conveyors 22, 24 and are closed in the infeed station 23.
- the aim of the control is that the product flow is fed regularly or completely to the grouping device. In the present case, the product flow is already complete in the region of the filling element 13.
- the articles 10 are conveyed upwards by the lifting device 45. It has been shown that it is advantageous if the stroke of the lifting device 45 is controlled as a function of the thickness of the objects 10. This control can be done by means of the control unit 17.
- the solution shown also has the advantage that by the lifting device 45, the articles 10 can be pressed with a uniform pressure against the suction belt 35, so that a controlled removal is possible.
- the top object 10 swells easily from the magazine 39 due to the inclination of the lid 42 and can be easily grasped by the suction belt 35 and pulled out of the magazine 39. In this way it is also prevented that more than one object 10 is removed at a time from the magazine 39.
- the magazine 39 can be removed from the infeed station 23 and refilled at a location remote from the feed line.
- FIGS. 6 to 13 A further embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS. 6 to 13. This embodiment differs from the previous embodiment, however, only in terms of the handling of magazines 39.
- the construction of the sluice station 23 remains otherwise unchanged. This applies in particular to the suction belt 35 as a removal device 38 and for the adjusting device 65. These are constructed as in the first embodiment and work accordingly. A repetition of the relevant description is therefore omitted.
- a special feature of the second embodiment is that below the transport path 2 a plurality of magazines 39 are arranged on a common conveyor 66.
- the conveying device 66 is an endless conveyor which rotates in a horizontal plane.
- the conveyor belt 67 is guided around two pulleys 68.
- receptacles 69 are provided for each magazine 39.
- the magazines 39 can be releasably secured to the receptacles 69 by means of laterally arranged holders 70, for example by hanging.
- the conveyor 66 extends transversely to the transport path 12.
- the conveyor 66 is positioned such that the magazines 39 can be positioned on the circumference of the conveyor belt 67 below the suction belt 35.
- an intermediate magazine 71 is preferably arranged stationary below the suction belt 35, as the magazine 39 in the first embodiment. It has a cover 42 as in the first embodiment and a removal opening 43 for removal of individual objects 10 through the suction belt 35.
- a lifting device 45 is provided for transporting the articles 10 in the magazine 39 in the vertical direction.
- a second lifting device 72 is provided for transporting the articles 10 in the intermediate magazine 71 in the vertical direction.
- the second lifting device 72 has a lifting arm 73 for transporting the objects in the intermediate magazine 71 in the vertical direction, namely until removal in the region of the removal opening 43 of the intermediate magazine 71 through the suction belt 35, as in the first embodiment.
- the lifting arm 73 of the intermediate magazine 71 is movable by two drives in two directions. The details will be described below with reference to FIGS. 8 to 13.
- the drives on the one hand to a pneumatic cylinder 74 for moving the lifting arm 73 in the horizontal direction and a servo drive 75 for moving the lifting arm 73 in the vertical direction.
- the lifting arm 73 is coupled to the pneumatic cylinder 74, which in turn is coupled to the servo drive 75.
- the lifting arm 48 of the lifting device 45 engages through slot-like recesses 76 in a wall 41 of the magazines 39 and detects the stack 40 of the articles 10 in the magazine 39 on the underside.
- the front free end of the support arm 46 is formed like a tine, wherein the tops of the tines 77 form an inclined plane on which the lowest object 10 rests and is aligned correspondingly slightly inclined.
- intermediate magazine 71 and a respective magazine 39 are arranged one above the other in alignment.
- the intermediate magazine 71 and the respective magazines 39 on the underside or top side open so that the objects 10 can be moved from the respective magazines 39 in the intermediate magazine 71, namely by the lifting device 45.
- the objects 10 are taken from the lifting arm 73.
- the lifting arm 73 is formed like a tine, the tines 78 enter through slot-like recesses 79 in the intermediate magazine 71 and detect the bottom 10 object.
- the tops of the tines 78 are arranged in an inclined plane, as the tines 77th
- the lifting arm 48 of the first lifting device 45 is again moved out of the magazine 39 (FIG. 11). Subsequently, the conveyor 66 is moved by one position, so that the next filled magazine 39 is positioned below the intermediate magazine 71. Then, the lifting arm 48 is again inserted into the magazine 39 and the articles 10 are lifted and transported upwards until the intermediate magazine 71 is again completely filled (FIG. 12). Thereafter, the lifting arm 73 of the second lifting device 72 can again be moved out of the intermediate magazine 71 (FIG. 13) and the further transport of the entire stack 40 is effected by the lifting arm 48 of the first lifting device 45 (FIG. 8).
- the emptying of the emptied magazines 39 takes place in a filling station 80.
- a test device 81 in particular a sensor 82, to check whether there are objects 10 in the magazines 39. If this is not the case, then the control unit 17 can control the conveyor 66 so that the unfilled magazine 39 does not is stopped below the intermediate magazine 71, but only the next subsequent filled magazine 39th
- the empty or filled magazines 39 can be filled, cleaned or stored outside the conveyor 66.
- the magazines 39 are not removed from the conveyor 66 for filling. It is also conceivable beyond the use of an intermediate magazine 41 without an underlying conveyor 66 for the magazines 39. For example, it would be conceivable that the magazines 39 are manually suspended below the intermediate magazine 71 and replaced.
