Abstract
A sleeve fixer to prevent wrinkles in the sleeves (5) when putting on an outerwear, said fixer having a hand fixing attachment (1) and a sleeve fixing attachment (2).
Description
- The present invention refers to a sleeve fixing device, which allows users to put on some outerwear, like jerseys or similar ones, preventing wrinkles in the sleeve below or the rise of the same sleeve of the user, which generates discomfort.
- It is designed for children, elders and handicapped people, with capacity or not of dressing themselves .Nevertheless, it can be used by any person.
- It could be really useful in the field of orthopaedics, childcare or clothing in general.
- When dressing a child, an elder or a handicapped person, or when a tight jersey or overcoat is placed on a first garment, you have the risk that the sleeve of the first garment folds over his/her arm, pushed by the sleeve of the outerwear, wrinkling at the height of the elbow or even further, leaving an annoying wrinkle. This wrinkle can even produce wounds or skin irritation in the case of disabled people.
- A solution is to introduce your hand through the sleeve of the outerwear, pick up the sleeve of the first garment and put it back into its place. This is uncomfortable, and in the case of children it can take them to unnecessary tantrums.
- A second solution is to turn your hand to seize the sleeve of the first garment introducing in this way your arm through the outerwear. However, this is not always possible, sometimes because of a too short sleeve or the incapability of the user (child or elder).
- The petitioner does not know any solution to this problem.
- The invention consists of a device as it is defined in the first claim. In particular, it is a sleeve fixer, with two differentiated parts: a hand fixing attachment and a sleeve fixing attachment.
- There are diverse hand fixings, but the preferred ones will be straps, elastic bands or ribbons, adaptable or not, and gloves or mittens with or without separation of the thumb.
- The sleeve fixings will normally be clips, although sometimes there can be small elastic bands with a bow lace to be fixed for the buttons of the sleeve.
- Since the user does not always get dressed in her/his house, but he/she can do it in public changing rooms or in the street if there is a weather change, it is really interesting to make this device portable and as nice as possible. That explains why the hand fixing attachment if thought to be a ribbon, chain or an elastic band, may have beads or other decorative objects. The clips may be decorated as well, therefore when placed in the ribbon, chain or elastic band will look like the buckle of the bracelet or a bead of a major size.
- When the device is used in garments that have short sleeves, three quarter sleeve lengths or half-sleeved ones, it will be able to include an extension between the hand fixing attachment and the sleeve fixing attachment.
- When you decide the mitten or glove as the hand fixing attachment, it will offer the added advantage of controlling the position of your fingers, facilitating their way along the sleeve. To obtain a better result, preferably a mitten without separation for the thumb should be used. This is really important in the case of babies and small or disabled children who do not have this ability.
- Another use, especially for children, is that of fixing the interior sleeve in the case of loose clothing for dance and gymnastics, in general.
- Finally, a last special use is indicated for disabled people with a limited use of their hands, with whom the hand fixing attachment is one turn of the ribbon to get a second sleeve fixing in the opposite side.
- Other possibilities of its use will be described further on.
- For a better understanding of the invention, the following figures are included.
- From
figure 1 to 3 different possibilities of the sleeve fixer invention, with an adaptable strap (1) or mitten (1'), are shown. - In
figure 4 a special use for people with an important disability is shown, in partially exploded view. - Next a brief way of use of the invention is going to be described, as an illustrative but never as a limitative example.
- The sleeve fixer is composed by a hand fixing attachment (1, 1', 1") and a sleeve fixing attachment, which will normally be a clip (2).
-
Figure 1 shows a hand as a first example of the hand fixing attachment (1, 1', 1") in this case a strap (1), ribbon, chain or elastic band, which form an adaptable bow by means of a bead (3) or slipknot. In this strap (1) a series of decorative objects can be placed (4), of which only two have been represented, to use it as a bracelet once the user has finished getting dressed. - As an example of a sleeve fixing attachment, a clip (2) has been represented, decorated with a heart in this case. The clip (2) catches the sleeve (5) to hold it in its place while the outerwear is put on (not represented).
-
Figure 2 shows a similar use, in which an extension (6) between the strap (1) and the clip (2) (decorated with a face) is represented, to reach the sleeve (5), in this case the three quarter sleeve length. - In
figure 3 a mitten (1') that will be used to introduce the hand of the baby or small child, is shown with the already described advantages. A clip is also available to hold the sleeve. - In this figure the separation for the thumb of the hand has been represented by a discontinuous line (D), which could be omitted as it has been mentioned previously. In this way, the mitten acts as a stocking or sock.
- In
figure 4 a specific possibility for a user with his/ her hand stiff by arthrosis or a stump is offered. In this case a mitten could be provided without a separation (D) for the thumb, but one turn of ribbon (1") can be sufficient to hold and fix the sleeve to his/ her hand. This possibility has therefore two clips (2) as sleeve fixing attachments. This variation has been represented with variable length by means of a buckle. - A discontinuous line is represented for the reinforcement (7) of cloth or leather, normally quilted, which can complement the ribbon turn (1").
- The way of using the sleeve fixer invention is:
- 1. Place the first garment, whose sleeve (5) has to be hold.
- 2. Place the hand fixing attachment (1, 1', 1") in the user's hand.
- 3. Prepare the sleeve fixing attachment.
- 4. Introduce the hand in the outerwear, with no need to worry about the wrinkles of the sleeve (5).
- 5. If it is necessary, separate the hand fixing attachment and the sleeve fixing attachment.
- You can change the order of the first three stages, although the indicated one is the best to reach the objective.
