Description

The invention relates to a piece of luggage, in particular suitcase trolley, with a lower shell and an upper shell, wherein the upper shell in the closed state with the lower shell encloses a luggage space of the luggage, wherein the lower shell and the upper shell of one side part and molded therefrom from each two in the direction of Longitudinal extent of the luggage piece aligned side walls, each having an upper wall and a bottom wall are formed, the upper shell and the lower shell are hinged together and held together in the closed state by a closure, the bottom walls are designed as a footing with laterally arranged mounting elements for the luggage ,

Such items also known as trolley luggage are known in many embodiments. For example, in Scripture US 2011/0186398 A1 a variant of a hard shell trolley with an extension part for enlarging the luggage compartment described. Hard-shell trolleys are usually made of a solid plastic lower shell and a solid plastic upper shell, which are movably connected to each other, for example via laterally arranged hinges. The bowls can be closed with the help of a circulating zipper or with buckles. The luggage is designed for upright transport by the passenger. For this purpose, it has a footprint on a short side part of the trolley, on which usually at least two wheels and possibly other mounting elements are arranged. In order to ensure a secure footing, the set-up elements are usually arranged in the corners on the edge of the footprint. At the opposite side of the footprint of the bag is a handle, often arranged in an extendable form, on which a traveler can tilt the bag on the rollers and pull. In a further embodiment, the trolley can have four wheels and, in addition, be rolled in an upright, non-tilted position. Another handle may be disposed on a long side opposite the hinges to allow the luggage to be carried.

JP2013150649A also describes a piece of luggage. For storage, the item of luggage can preferably be placed on the lower shell, but also on the upper shell, for example, for transport in a trunk of a passenger car, in the cargo area of a bus or other means of transport or on a baggage conveyor belt at an airport. To lift the luggage in this position, it must be lifted on two opposite sides. This may be necessary to lift the baggage, for example, over a high loading edge, which is not possible upright. However, handles are only attached to two non-opposite sides of the item of luggage, so that they embrace the side opposite the handle used must become. This is difficult and tedious, especially for heavy luggage and in confined spaces.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a piece of luggage, which allows easy picking up the bag from a lying position.

The object of the invention is achieved by a piece of luggage according to claim 1. In the bottom walls in the area between the side walls attached to the respective mounting elements each a recessed grip is formed and the recessed grips are each formed by a recessed relative to the set-in indentation of the bottom walls and in the region between the recessed grips a grip element is arranged that of the upper shell and the lower shell is formed.
The recessed grips make it possible to guide a hand with a lying piece of luggage through one of the recessed grips to the gripping element and lift the piece of luggage there. At the same time, the item of luggage may be caught and lifted on an upper handle attached to the top of the item of luggage, thereby allowing for easy picking up of the item of luggage from a lying position. The grip element is shaped so that it can be easily grasped by one hand. Due to the recessed grips, the gripping element can be achieved even in tight spatial conditions, for example when the piece of luggage rests flush against a next piece of luggage. Also, for receiving a standing piece of luggage, this example can be easily tilted and taken on the handle element. The piece of luggage can thus be received and carried in an upright or slightly tilted or horizontal position on the handle element and the handle.

The recessed grips and the handle element can be formed in one step during molding of the upper or lower shell, so that no or no significant additional manufacturing costs.

The gripping element can be formed in such a way that the upper shell and the lower shell form webs which delimit the gripping element adjacent to the recessed grips and in that the gripping element is formed protruding beyond the recessed grips. The grip element can thus be reached and covered with one hand through the grip recesses.

When the luggage is opened, the handle element is separated along the abutment surface between the upper and lower shells. When packing the bag is then usually on the top and bottom shell. Also in this position, the piece of luggage can be taken and lifted at the integrally formed on the upper shell or the lower shell webs of the grip element.

Often, the bottom shell is made deeper than the top shell of luggage, resulting in an asymmetric structure of the luggage. The abutment surfaces, on which the lower shell and the upper shell rest each other, then no longer lie in the median plane of the item of luggage. In order nevertheless to obtain a grip element with an ergonomically favorable grip width, it can be provided that a depth T1 of the front recessed grip integrally formed on the upper shell to a depth Tos of the upper shell and a depth T2 of the integrally formed on the lower shell rear recessed grip to a depth Tus of the lower shell are adapted such that the width of the webs is at least approximately equal. The width of the webs determines the width of the handle element. Are the webs the same width, there is a symmetrical grip element, which is positioned symmetrically around the abutment surface between the lower and upper shell by the adaptation of the depths T1, T2 of the recessed grips to the depths Tus, Tos of the lower and upper shell.

According to preferred embodiments of the invention, it may be provided that the contours of the bottom walls in the direction of the depth T1, T2 of the recessed grips between the transitions to the side parts are at least approximately rectilinear or that adjoining the side panels front areas of the recessed grips, the bottom walls comparatively less strong and in the front areas subsequent rear areas to the handle element are formed comparatively stronger in the luggage space and that thereby lateral handle elements are formed in the front areas.

In a non-inventive embodiment variant with straight to the side parts extending contours of the bottom walls, the recessed grips show over their complete depth of engagement preferably a constant height. This is dimensioned so that an adult's hand can be introduced and the middle grip element can be reached. The embodiment has the advantage that the floor parts need only be molded into the luggage compartment so far that a hand can be inserted into the recessed grip.

According to the contours of the recessed grips are designed so that form lateral gripping elements in their front, the side panels adjacent areas. For this purpose, the bottom walls at the opening of the recessed grip are less strong and molded in the rear of the recessed grip more in the luggage compartment of the luggage. As a result, for example, a bead running on the edge of the recessed grip and adapted to the size of a hand can be formed as a lateral gripping element on which the item of luggage can be lifted. The side handle elements can be easily reached even in confined spaces and the bag can be lifted. The indentation of the recessed grip is preferably so large in the region of the lateral grip elements that a hand can be inserted up to the middle grip element.

If it is provided that the recessed grips along the longitudinal extent of the bottom walls have an arcuate shape and / or that the height of the gripping element and / or the lateral gripping elements in the middle of the arc largest and decreasing toward the edge of the arc, can be ergonomically favorable Shape of the handle elements can be achieved. The arch shape determines where the bag can be lifted properly. Another advantage of the arch shape is the resulting good recognition of the luggage, for example, on a luggage belt at an airport.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment variant of the invention, it can be provided that a zipper is used as the closure between the upper shell and the lower shell and that the grip element is formed by the two webs indirectly connected via the zipper and the region of the zipper arranged between the webs. The proven concept of closing luggage by means of a circumferential zipper, so it can be applied to luggage pieces with the present invention molded handle element. In this case, the zipper can be provided on the entire circumference of the upper and lower shell or it can be provided on three sides of the item of luggage, wherein the hingedly connected fourth side is recessed.

In order to prevent moisture and dirt from penetrating into the item of luggage, provision can be made for a seal, in particular a seal made of plastic, of silicone or rubber, to be arranged in the region of the webs, and for the seal to form part of the grip element. The seal may preferably be arranged circumferentially between the upper and lower shell. It can be combined with a zipper closure of the luggage. Alternatively, it is known, the upper and lower shell by means of overlapping closure elements, for example in the form of buckles, to close. Again, the seal may be provided accordingly to seal the interior of the luggage.

In order to avoid injuries and to obtain ergonomically favorable forms of the grip elements, it can be provided that the grip elements have rounded contours.

A piece of luggage with high stability is obtained in that the upper shell and / or the lower shell as plastic hard shells, in particular polycarbonate (PC) or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) or polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate (PET), are executed or that the upper shell and / or the lower shell are made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) or of a fabric material, in particular of a rigid fabric material, and / or that the upper shell and / or the lower shell have at least partially a structured surface. In the formation of the upper and lower shell, the grip elements can be easily and inexpensively molded with. In this case, the gripping elements obtained have sufficient stability to lift and carry a heavily loaded piece of luggage. The structuring of the surface leads to an additional stiffening of the upper or lower shell and thus of the entire item of luggage.

A secure hold on the mostly smooth and slippery plastic surfaces can be achieved in that the grip elements are at least partially provided with a non-slipping surface or that the surfaces of the grip elements are at least partially provided with a non-slip coating.

FIG. 1 shows a piece of luggage 10 with a view of an upper shell 12. The upper shell 12 encloses together with a in FIG. 2 . FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 shown lower shell 19 a in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 shown luggage compartment 10.1 of the baggage 10th
The upper shell 12 is made of a front side part 12.1 with circumferential, approximately at right angles to the front side part 12.1 molded front walls 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5. educated. In this case, a front first side wall 12.3 and an opposite front second side wall 12.4 extend in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the item of luggage 10. The short sides of the upper shell 19 are closed by a front upper wall 12.5 and a front bottom wall 12.2. This results in an at least approximately rectangular contour of the item of luggage 10. In the surface of the upper shell 12, a surface structure 13 is provided which on the one hand increases the rigidity of the upper shell 12 and on the other hand facilitates the recognition of the item of luggage 10 as a design element.
The front second side wall 12.4 is connected via two hinges 17.1, 17.2 hingedly connected to a rear second side wall of the lower shell 19, not shown. At the top of the item of luggage 10, an upper handle 11 and at the hinges 17.1, 17.2 opposite side of the item of luggage 10, a side handle 14 is attached. The underside of the item of luggage 10 is designed as a footprint 16 for the item of luggage 10. These are the in FIG. 1, FIG. 2 . FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 shown erection elements 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4 designed as wheels in the corner regions of the footprint 16. The footprint 16 itself is through the lateral portions of the front bottom wall 12.2 of the upper shell 12 and corresponding lateral portions of an in FIG. 2 shown rear bottom wall 19.2 of the lower shell 19 formed.

In the front bottom wall 12.2 an arcuate running, aligned in the direction of the luggage compartment 10.1 front handle recess 20 is formed. The front recessed grip 20 is closed at its end by a first web 21.

A dashed line shown between the marks AA shows a section line of FIG FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 shown sectional views.

The piece of luggage 10 is designed as a trolley for the upright transport by the traveler. For this purpose, the piece of luggage 10 can be tilted on the upper handle 11 such that its center of gravity is pivoted over a pair of rollers, and pulled in this position. The upper handle 11 may be made extendable. Alternatively, the luggage 10 may be worn on the side handle 14.

Die Ecken des Gepäckstücks 10 sind abgerundet. The corners of the luggage 10 are rounded.

FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the luggage 10 in a horizontal carrying position. In addition to the already too FIG. 1 shown components are the lower shell 19 with the rear bottom wall 19.2 and the attached thereto in shape shown by wheels set-up 15.3, 15.4 shown. The erection elements 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4 are arranged in the corners of the footprint formed by the bottom walls 12.2, 19.2 16.

Corresponding to the upper shell 12, the lower shell 19 also has an arcuate molded, recessed by a second web 31 rear recessed grip 30. The recessed grips 20, 30 are set back relative to the set-up surface 16, so that a hand 43 can be inserted into the recessed grips 20, 30.

To the in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 shown abutting surfaces 22, 32 of the upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19 is circumferentially arranged a zipper 18 with which the luggage 10 can be closed. The abutment surfaces 22, 32 and the attached zipper 18 extend in the region of the recessed grips 20, 30 approximately in a straight line in the plane of the footprint 16. The webs 21, 31 close in this area in the abutment surfaces 22, 32. From the webs 21, 31 and the interposed portion of the zipper 18 thereby a handle member 40 is formed, which can be achieved by the handle recesses 20, 30 with a hand 43. The grip element 40 projects beyond the grip recesses 20, 30. The bag 10 can thus be held on the handle member 40 and the upper handle 11 and carried in a horizontal position.

The recessed grips 20, 30 are formed in the exemplary embodiment such that a further gripping element 41, 42 is formed along their arcuate openings. For this purpose, the bottom walls 12.2, 19.2 in the region of the openings formed less strongly in the direction of the luggage compartment 10.1 than in the rear region, so that in each case a rounded bead along the openings of the recessed grips 20, 30 is formed. As shown in the exemplary embodiment, the item of luggage 10 can also be encompassed and lifted by one hand on one of these lateral gripping elements 41, 42.

The recessed grips 20, 30 and the molded handle members 40, 41, 42 make it possible to grip and lift the item of luggage 10 on its underside. If the bag 10 is raised at the same time on its upper handle 11, it can be picked up and carried horizontally. By the recessed grips 20, 30, the handle elements 40, 41, 42, even in tight spaces, for example, if the underside of the luggage 10 is applied to another piece of luggage, be reached by a hand 43.

The upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19 are designed in the embodiment as plastic hard shells made of polycarbonate (PC). Alternatively, the plastic hard shells may also be made of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) or of polypropylene (PP) or of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Other possible materials include ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and fabric materials. The recessed grips 20, 30 and the gripping elements 40, 41, 42 can be formed approximately cost-neutral to them in the production of the upper shell 12 and lower shell 19.

Since recessed grips 20, 30 and gripping elements 40 41, 42 are provided on both sides of the luggage piece 10, this can be easily accommodated both when it rests on the lower shell 19 and when it rests on the upper shell 12. This situation is often present at baggage claim lines at airports. The arcuate configuration of the recessed grips 20, 30 is ergonomically advantageous and at the same time improves the recognition of the item of luggage 10.

To open the item of luggage 10, the zipper 18 is opened and preferably the upper shell 12 is unfolded such that the item of luggage rests on the side parts 12.1, 19.1 of the upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19. In this case, the middle grip element 40 is separated along the abutment surfaces 22, 32 and the course of the zipper 18. The piece of luggage 10 can also be opened from this Position at one of the webs 21, 31 and the upper handle 11 taken and raised horizontally. The grip element 40 thus makes it possible, for example, to change over a partially packed open luggage item 10 during packing.
As an alternative to the illustrated embodiment with a zipper 18 as a closure element, the item of luggage 10 can also be closed by closure elements which overlap the lower shell 19 with respect to the upper shell 12, for example in the form of buckles.
Along the abutting surfaces 22, 32, a circumferential seal, for example made of plastic, silicone or rubber, may be provided. This is also arranged between the abutting surfaces 22, 32 in the region of the webs 21, 31 and forms with them the gripping element 40.
FIG. 3 shows a not to scale sectional view through the bag 10 with a not inventive variant of the recessed grips 20, 30. The section runs along the in FIG. 1 shown section line AA along the center line of the luggage item 10 and the recessed grips 20, 30th
The illustration shows a part of the luggage compartment 10.1 enclosed by the upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19, which is closed in the direction of view by the side walls 12.3, 19.3, right and left by the side parts 12.1, 19.1 and below by the bottom walls 12.2, 19.2. At the top, the representation is terminated by a cut edge. The upper shell 12 is connected to the lower shell 19 by the zipper 18.
The bottom walls 12.2, 19.2 laterally form the footprint 16 and in the middle of the recessed grips 20, 30 with the final webs 21, 31 from. In the corners of the footprint 16, the erection elements 15.1, 15.3 are mounted in the form of wheels.

The recessed grips 20, 30 are formed by a respective indentation of the bottom walls 12.2, 19.2 in the luggage compartment 10.1 and are after a respective depth T1, T2 of the webs 21, 31 completed. The webs 21, 31 pass into the approximately in the plane of the footprint 16 extending abutment surfaces 22, 32 of the upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19 and form along with the along the abutment surfaces 22, 32 running zipper 18, the middle handle member 40. The webs 21, 31 are designed so rounded that they can be easily and without risk of injury from a hand 43 can be included.
In the exemplary embodiment, the recessed grips 20, 30 are uniformly shaped over their entire depths T1, T2 in the luggage compartment 10.1, so that a uniform height of the recessed grips 20, 30 results in the sectional plane AA. To lift the item of luggage 10, a hand can be inserted into one of the recessed grips 20, 30 and the gripping element 40 can be grasped.
A depth Tos of the upper shell 12 is selected equal to a depth Tus of the lower shell 19 in the embodiment. Alternatively, one of the shells may have a greater depth Tos, Tus than the other, whereby an asymmetrical structure of the luggage item 10 is achieved. Advantageously, the depths T1, T2 of the recessed grips 20, 30 are then adapted to the depths Tos, Tus of the upper shell 12 and the lower shell 19 such that an equal width of the webs 21, 31 and a symmetrical structure of the grip element 40 remains. As a result, an ergonomic middle grip element 40 can also be represented in asymmetrically constructed luggage items 10.

FIG. 4 shows a sectional view through the bag 10 with a variant according to the invention of the recessed grips 20, 30. The representation corresponds substantially to the in FIG. 3 shown illustration.

Notwithstanding the in FIG. 3 shown embodiment, the recessed grips 20, 30 along their depths T1, T2 are formed differently strong in the luggage compartment 10.1. The indentation in the front region of the openings of the recessed grips 20, 30 is made smaller and stronger in the rear region. As a result, along the openings of the recessed grips 20, 30 lateral gripping elements 41, 42, in the illustrated embodiment in the form of rounded beads, formed. If the item of luggage 10 is lying, for example, on the rear side part 19.1 of the lower shell 19, the front side grip element 41 can be grasped by a hand 43 and the item of luggage 10 lifted thereon. Alternatively, the hand 43 may be guided through the front recessed handle 20 to the middle handle member 40 and the luggage 10 may be lifted thereon.

If the item of luggage 20 lies on the front side part 12.1 of the upper shell 12, it can be lifted on the rear side grip element 42 or the hand 43 can be guided through the rear recessed grip 30 to the middle grip element 40 and the luggage item 10 can be lifted thereon.
