  2. Covering device according to claim 1, characterised in that each arm (4) is articulated with respect to the central top part (2) by an elastic transverse hinge (6) tending to separate the arms (4) from each other.
  3. Covering device according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that each arm (4) has a distal part (8) with the overall shape of a circular cylinder portion.
  4. Covering device according to claim 3, characterised in that each distal part (8) of an arm is a portion of a cylinder with a diameter between 60 and 90 mm.
  5. Covering device according to claim 2, characterised in that it comprises at least four arms, in that the arms each having firstly a distal end in the form of an arc of a circle and secondly two lateral edges, each lateral edge being facing a lateral edge of an adjacent arm, and in that the arms may conjointly adopt:
    - a first position in which the arms are separated from one another and the lateral edges are arranged at a distance from one another,
    - a second position in which the distal ends of the arms form substantially a circle and the lateral edges of an arm are brought close to, or even in contact with, a lateral edge of an adjacent arm, and
    - a third position in which the arms overlap along their lateral edges.
  6. Covering device according to claim 5, characterised in that in the first position the arms form a cone, and in that this position corresponds to an unstressed position of the arms.
  7. Covering device according to either claim 5 or claim 6, characterised in that, in the second position, the circle formed by the distal ends is between 80 and 95 mm.
  8. Covering device according to any of claims 5 to 7, characterised in that, in the third position, the arms overlap by passing over an adjacent arm and under another adjacent arm, like fish scales.
  9. Covering device according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that each arm (4) comprising a transverse aperture (12) comprises at least two transverse apertures (12).
  10. Covering device according to any of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the top central part (2) carries firstly a holding element (16) mounted pivotably on the top central part (2) and secondly means (20) for locking the holding element (16) in a position making it possible to hold a substantially flat lug against the top central part (2).
  11. Covering device according to any of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that it comprises six or eight similar arms (4) regularly distributed around the central top part (2).
  12. Covering device according to any of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that it is produced by injecting a thermoplastic synthetic material.
  13. Covering device according to claim 12, characterised in that each arm (4) is connected to the central top part (2) by a hinge (6) obtained by thinning of material and in that at rest the angle formed by each arm (4) and the central top part (2) is between 160° and 200°.
  14. Covering device according to claims 6 and 12, characterised in that each arm (4) is connected to the central top part (2) by a hinge (6) obtained by thinning of material and in that at rest the angle formed by each arm (4) and the central top part (2) is between 100° and 135°.
  15. Assembly formed by a covering device and a spotlight (21), characterised in that the covering device is a covering device according to any of claims 1 to 14, in that the spotlight (21) comprises fixing springs (26), and in that at least one spring (26) is introduced into a transverse aperture (12) of the covering device.
