Abstract

The invention proposed refers to an MACHINE FOR DEPOSITING AND WITHDRAWING BANK NOTES, SUITABLE FOR BANK NOTE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT characterised because when the apparatus is accessed and the open/deposit command is ordered, the sliding gate slips to create a rectangular opening where the banknotes are inserted and deposited on a platform from where they are transferred to a drum, set to a control position from where they are delivered to the system or, by means of a diverter rod, are sent along a return route to a stacker which once more places them on the delivery tray by an identical process but in reverse.

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention referred to in these specifications is for an MACHINE FOR DEPOSITING AND WITHDRAWING BANK NOTES, SUITABLE FOR BANK NOTE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, characterised because it is an innovative apparatus permitting deposit of a large quantity of banknotes and their handling at a speed and with security unknown until now, and which also allows banknotes to be returned, quickly and securely, with the aid of a cylindrical stacker and the deposit device itself, its function reversed.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The field of the invention comprises the entire industry of numeric machines and their accessories.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • There are many previous examples of apparatus which perform the same function as the apparatus in the invention proposed.
  • All these apparatus nevertheless present problems.
  • Some do not admit more than a limited number of banknotes, while with others the banknotes must be inserted one by one.
  • Likewise, only small numbers may be withdrawn, because of obvious problems concerning the degree to which the expending gate is opened.
  • In all cases, the introduction and handling of these banknotes is very slow, meaning that use is not possible at some self-service terminals.
  • Of the known embodiments, which however suffer from the problems set out, the following can be identified:
    • Of the most noteworthy antecedents, which might be deemed to be remote, the following at least may be considered.
  • US Patent 2010303332 published on 02/12/2010 for GLORY KOGYO KK (JP) and called: "BANKNOTE HANDLING MACHINE AND BANKNOTE".
  • This is however a different design where the input and output of banknotes is a different creation and handling channels differ.
  • Mention may also be made of Chinese patent No. CN 101430806 published on 13/05/2009 for HITACHI OMRON TERMINAL SOLUTION, S.A., FOR A: "BANKNOTE HANDLING APPARATUS AND AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINE".
  • There are sufficient differences with the patent proposed as, amongst other things, the process to differentiate the banknotes takes place in two stages, lengthening the procedure and making it more difficult and, moreover, the carrier devices are completely different.
  • Another, older antecedent, is Japanese patent JP 2008165290 published on 17/07/2008 for LAUREL SEIKI KK, for: "BANKNOTE HANDLING MACHINE".
  • And even the United States patent US 6581746, published on 24/06/2003 , for NYBOHOV DEV AB (SE), for: "BANKNOTE HANDLING MACHINE".
  • There is also a significant difference in the means for receiving and monitoring the banknotes, which cannot be returned immediately if they do not meet the standards demanded.
  • The inventor is familiar with no design with the characteristics of the invention proposed or which resolves the problems created with the effectiveness and economy with which they are resolved in this embodiment.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention proposed refers to an MACHINE FOR DEPOSITING AND WITHDRAWING BANK NOTES, SUITABLE FOR BANK NOTE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, characterised because it is based on a parallelepiped container whose upper face includes a rectangular opening which can be closed by a cover concealed under the upper face.
  • The cover conceals a fundamentally rectangular receptacle with a horizontally sliding platform where the banknotes to be processed are deposited.
  • Once all the banknotes to be handled have been placed on the platform, the closing cover is activated and in turn operates a thruster in the form of a fine, rectangular "M"-shaped profile and with several rows of cylinders with a bearing, pressing them lightly but allowing a descending belt located between two opposite cylinders, one of which incorporates a drive pulley, to take them down to the operating position.
  • Thus the banknotes are placed between the descending belt and the thruster and within the reach of a drive pulley which drags the first banknote until it is stopped by the line valve.
  • The drive pulley can only drag one banknote each time because the banknote taken is stopped by the line valve and its length, and the drive pulley does not come into contact with the next banknote until the line valve (11) opens.
  • The system sensors determine the characteristics of the banknote and, depending on them, opens the line valve so that it can be correctly stored.
  • If because of a banknote's characteristics the sensors consider it must be returned, the line valve is opened, but a diversion rod closes and the banknote is diverted to the return route.
  • Along this route they reach the stackers which each comprise wheels with large angular notches where the banknotes are attached and stacked against the left thruster and on the platform described previously.
  • Once all the stacked banknotes are dealt with, they are pressed by the right thruster and the assembly slides horizontally until they come into contact with drag belt, as the left thruster, with its "M" shape, moves into position behind that belt, lifting them to the outside when the cover is removed.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS.
  • For a better understanding of the invention, two pages of plans are attached where the following can be distinguished.
    • Figure 1 .- A cross-section view of a simplified diagram of the banknote deposit in the apparatus.
    • Figure 2 .- A cross-section view of a simplified diagram of the introduction of banknotes into the apparatus.
    • Figure 3 .- A cross-section view of a simplified diagram of the system for return of banknotes from the apparatus.
    • Figure 4 .- A cross-section view of a simplified diagram of the deposit for storage of rejected banknotes.
    • Figure 5 .- A cross-section view of a simplified diagram of a thruster and two stackers.
  • In those figures, a single reference is used to identify identical elements, among which the following may be made out:
    • 1. The apparatus upper wall.

A PREFERENTIAL EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.
  • The invention proposed refers to an MACHINE FOR DEPOSITING AND WITHDRAWING BANK NOTES, SUITABLE FOR BANK NOTE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, characterised by being based on a parallelepiped whose upper face (1) has an opening (19) which can be closed by a cover (2) concealed by conventional means under the upper face (1).
  • The cover (2) conceals a fundamentally rectangular receptacle (16) where a platform (4) is seen which slides horizontally and where the banknotes (3) to be handled are deposited.
  • Once all the banknotes to be handled (3) have been placed on the platform (4), the closing cover (2) is activated and in turn operates the thruster (13) in the form of a fine, rectangular "M"-shaped profile with several rows of cylinders with a bearing (17), pressing them lightly but allowing the descending belt pulley located between two opposite cylinders (19), one of which incorporates a drive pulley (18), to take them down to the operating position.
  • Thus the banknotes (3) are placed between the descending belt (7) and the thruster (13) and within the reach of a drive pulley (9) which drags the first banknote (3) until it is stopped by the line valve (11).
  • The drive pulley (9) can only drag one banknote at a time because the banknote taken is stopped by the line valve (11) and its length, and the drive pulley (9) does not come into contact with the next banknote until the line valve (11) opens.
  • The system sensors (10) determine the characteristics of the banknote (3) and, depending on them, the line valve (11) is opened so that it can be correctly stored.
  • If because of the characteristics of a banknote (3) the sensors (10) consider it must be returned, the line valve (11) is opened and the diversion rod (12) closes and the banknote is diverted to the return route (14).
  • Along this route they reach the stackers (15) which each comprise wheels with large angular notches where the banknotes (3) are attached and stacked against the left thruster (13) on the platform (4).
  • Once all the stacked banknotes (3) are dealt with, they are pressed by the right thruster (6) and the assembly slides horizontally until the banknotes (3) come into contact with the belt (7), as the left thruster, with its "M" shape, moves into position behind that belt (7), lifting them to the outside when the cover (2) is removed.
  • Having sufficiently described the nature of the invention and its implementation, it must be indicated that the arrangements referred to above and represented in the attached drawings may be modified in detail as long as their fundamental principles are not altered as established in the previous paragraphs and synthesised in the following claims.
