Dans le cas d'une découpe de la planche en plusieurs opérations, le procédé prévoit une première opération de découpe multiple d'ébauches E avec des outils de coupe suivant une première géométrie de points distants les uns des autres d'une distance supérieure au diamètre d'ébauche. Le procédé prévoit alors un déplacement en translation relative de la planche par rapport aux outils et au moins une autre opération de découpe multiple entre les découpes d'ébauches déjà réalisées, suivant une deuxième géométrie.
    La première et la deuxième géométries peuvent être identiques.
    Selon le procédé de l'invention, soit la planche est déplacée en translation sous les mêmes outils, soit les outils sont déplacés en translation par rapport à la planche, soit encore la planche est déplacée d'un premier jeu d'outils sous un autre jeu d'outils autant qu'il y a d'opérations de découpe multiple.
    Avantageusement, le procédé selon la présente invention prévoit deux opérations de découpe multiple d'ébauches E d'une même planche.

    - preparation of an untreated plank of natural cork,
    - cutting of cork blanks in the direction perpendicular to the surface of said blank in order to form a batch of blanks,
    - cutting with a view to eliminating the lower portion from the blanks in the same batch,
    - measuring the length of each blank in a batch, after removal of the lower portion,
    - cutting of slices in an optimised fashion according to the length available in each blank, the slices being intended for manufacturing stoppers,
    - elimination of the offcuts, which comprise at least the thickness corresponding to the crust.
  2. A method for the optimised production of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 1, characterised in that the cutting of the blanks from the same plank is carried out in a plurality of successive cutting operations on the same plank.
  3. A method for the optimised production of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 2, characterised in that a first operation of multiple cutting of blanks with cutting tools according to a first geometry of points distant from one another by a distance greater than the length of a diameter of blank, a relative translation movement of the plank with respect to the tools and at least one other operation of multiple cutting between the cuts of blanks already made according to a second geometry are carried out successively.
  4. A method for the optimised production of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 3, characterised in that the first and second geometries are identical.
  5. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers for implementing the method according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises:
    - a station (28) for punching blanks from an untreated plank (10) of natural cork, including the crust, the lower portion and the belly,
    - a station (30) for transferring blanks E with a carriage (32),
    - a station (34) for cutting the lower portion from each blank E,
    - a station (36) for measuring the length of each blank E, after cutting of the lower portion,
    - at least one station (38) for cutting slices, and
    - a station (40) for eliminating the residual length including the crust.
  6. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 5, characterised in that the punching station (28) comprises a conveyor (42) intended to receive the untreated cork plank (10), a plurality of cutting tools (22), of the punch type in the form of tubes with a circular cross section, provided with a refined leading edge (24).
  7. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the station (28) for punching blanks E comprises a multi-impression punch block (46) carrying the cutting tools (22), means (48) for manoeuvring this punch block (46) in translation perpendicular to the surface of the plank (10), a transfer station (52) that comprises means for manoeuvring the multi-impression punch block (46) in translation, at least one shuttle (56) for collecting the blanks, comprising a block (58) with same number of housings (60) as there are cutting tools (22), according to the same arrangement geometry, for receiving the blanks E and means (62) for ejecting the blanks from each cutting tool (22) to the corresponding housing (60) in the shuttle.
  8. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 7, characterised in that the transfer station (30) comprises means for moving the blanks E contained in the housings (60) in the shuttle (56) for collecting the blanks E from the punching station (28) to the housings (66) in the corresponding carriage (52).
  9. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 5, characterised in that the carriage (32) is disposed at a distance D1 from a stop (68) and in that it comprises means (70) for pressing said blanks on the shuttle against said stop (68), the station (34) for cutting the inner surface from the blanks E comprising means (72), disposed at a distance D2 from the stop on which the blanks on said shuttle are registered, with D2 less than D1.
  10. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to any of claims 5 to 9, characterised in that the length-measuring station (36) comprises means (74) for measuring the length, matched with each blank E1, E2, ... En, in each housing in the carriage (32).
  11. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to claim 10, characterised in that the length-measuring means (74) are ultrasound sensors pressed against the blanks E.
  12. A device for the optimised cutting of natural cork slices for manufacturing stoppers according to any of claims 5 to 11, characterised in that each slice-cutting station (38) comprises a stop (68) and pushers in order to put the blank in register, a rotary cutting blade for cutting to the length e1, e2 or e3, defined by the position of said rotary cutting blade with respect to the associated stop (68).
