Definitions
- the invention relates to a heating device for externally heating a tubular member, comprising a disposed within a jacket tube electrical heating element, which is pushed onto the component together with the jacket tube, wherein the jacket tube has a slot extending in the axial direction of the component.
- GB 2 302 490 A shows such a heater according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such heaters are known and used, for example, to heat a tubular member in the form of a nozzle body with which temperature-induced liquefied materials, such as plastic melt are fed to an injection mold.
- the heating of the tubular member is effected by the electric heating element, which is received within the jacket tube and the tubular member is disposed concentrically surrounding.
- the extent of the outer shell forming jacket tube serves to shield the electric heating element, the homogenization of heat dissipation and the fixation of the electric heating element on the component.
- the heating element In order to ensure a good heat transfer between the electric heating element and the tubular member, the heating element must sit tightly and without air gaps and the like on the tubular member, to which it from the EP 0591755 B1 it is known, the electric heating element with serving as a jacket tube sheet metal outer jacket applied under bias on the tubular member.
- this bias complicates the installation and also there is a risk that is reduced by the concomitant thermal expansion of the jacket tube, the bias and upon prolonged use of such an electric heater and multiple heating and cooling, the bias is gradually lost when heating the electric heating element. In extreme cases, this leads to the heating device falling off the tubular component.
- the object of the invention is to provide an electric heater of the type mentioned, which is equipped with a jacket tube, which allows a particularly simple installation with maximum reliability and far-reaching influence on the behavior and other properties of the jacket tube depending on the application.
- a heating device according to the features of claim 1 is proposed according to the invention.
- Advantageous embodiments and modifications of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
- the proposal according to the invention is based on the fact that the jacket tube is formed from a plated metal sheet having a base layer and at least one plating layer applied to the base layer.
- Clad sheets are known per se and commercially available and are composites consisting of a base layer and at least one layer of another material, the cladding layer.
- the base layer also serves as a carrier material of the thus formed composite material and gives the jacket tube the necessary mechanical strength, while according to the invention by selecting the appropriate for the particular application plating layers, the specific properties of the jacket tube can be influenced within wide limits.
- plated sheets are produced by hot rolling, in which the base and plating layers are bonded to each other substantially inseparably.
- the jacket tube consists of a plated sheet with only two layers, namely a base layer and a cladding layer applied to the base layer.
- the plating layer can be arranged both on the inside facing the heating element or on the outside of the jacket tube facing away from the heating element. This depends on the respective applications.
- the jacket tube can also be formed from a clad sheet, which has, starting from the base layer several applied on one side of the base layer plating layers in the form of discrete layers or the jacket tube is formed from a clad sheet, which starting from the base layer is provided on both sides thereof with at least one or for example also two plating layers. Also, different numbers of plating layers on the inside and outside of the base layer are possible.
- the base layer according to the invention may for example be formed on the basis of iron, copper or nickel or alloys thereof.
- Base layers based on iron and iron alloys are particularly suitable for low temperatures of the electric heating element and the tubular heating to be heated therewith Components, allow a good heat distribution within the jacket tube, a high durability of the applied plating and at the same time very low material costs and offer the possibility to combine very hard plating layers with which plating layers, for example, on the outside of the jacket tube facing away from the electric heating element to use very hard plating layer, while facing the electrical heating element on the inside very soft plating layers are used.
- base layers based on copper and copper alloys makes it possible to use the heating device according to the invention at medium temperature levels and better heat distribution compared with iron and iron alloys, and increased electrical and thermal conductivity with simultaneously increased corrosion resistance even against corrosive gases. Due to the mentioned good thermal conductivity of copper as the base layer occur in such jacket pipes no thermal distortion phenomena at temperature load changes.
- nickel or nickel alloys in the base layer of the heater according to the invention leads to the same properties as copper, in particular good thermal conductivity and high electrical conductivity, however, by using nickel and nickel alloys even higher temperatures can be realized because nickel in this Regard copper layers is superior.
- FeNi alloys are preferably used in the base layer.
- the at least one cladding layer may be formed on the basis of iron, copper, nickel or their alloys in order to achieve the advantages of the respective materials already mentioned in connection with the base layers also in the region of the cladding layers.
- the cladding layers of FeNi, NiCr or NiCuAl alloys, and NiCuFe alloys are useful in the invention. It results in a good magnetization with high thermal conductivity and adjustable hardness.
- NiCr alloys in the plating layer leads to a high gloss of the jacket tube designed according to the invention similar to that of stainless steel, which is optically advantageous and moreover leads to a high corrosion resistance even at high temperatures.
- Ni-Cr plating layers having a base layer e.g. are combined based on iron, despite the high gloss and high corrosion resistance of the base layer, a high thermal conductivity, good heat distribution and a very easily adaptable to the contour of the tubular member casing tube with much higher tensile strength over a jacket tube of e.g. Ferrite sheet, so that any predetermined biases can be maintained over long periods of use.
- the plating layers may have different hardnesses, e.g. on the outside facing away from the electric heating element, which is at the same time also the accessible outside of the heating device, particularly hard and thus resistant, while on the inside facing the heating element particularly soft plating layers can be used.
- the jacket tube from a plated sheet, which has bimetallic properties, such that upon heating of the heating element, a widely adjustable radial pressure is built up on the tubular component.
- bimetallic properties can be realized, for example, if copper is used in the base layer and different plating layers are used, for example. from MnNi16Cu10 on the one hand and FeNi36 on the other hand are used.
- a particularly inexpensive embodiment of a jacket tube with bimetallic properties can e.g. by forming the base layer of iron and a cladding layer of MnNi16Cu10 and another cladding layer of FeNi36.
- base and plating layer (s) can be selected by the skilled person depending on the desired properties of the jacket tube.

Description
GB 2 302 490 A
