Abstract

Ein erfindungsgemäßes Verfahren zum Erzeugen eines Druckbildes (2) auf einem zu bedruckenden Objekt (3), wobei zum Bedrucken des Objekts eine erste Tintenstrahl-Druckeinheit (D1) mit einem ersten Feld von Tintenstrahl-Düsen (F1) und eine zweite Tintenstrahl-Druckeinheit (D2) mit einem zweiten Feld von Tintenstrahl-Düsen (F2) und zum Fördern des Objekts in eine Förderrichtung (5) eine Fördereinheit (4) eingesetzt werden, wobei das erste Feld und das zweite Feld im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Förderrichtung verlaufen und dabei teilweise in einem Überlapp-Bereich (L) überlappen, mit den Schritten: - Drucken eines ersten Abschnitts (A1) des Druckbildes mit der ersten Druckeinheit an einer ersten Position (P1), - Fördern des Objekts von der ersten Position zu einer von der ersten Position beabstandeten zweiten Position (P2), und - Drucken eines zweiten Abschnitts (A2) des Druckbildes mit der zweiten Druckeinheit an der zweiten Position , zeichnet sich durch die weiteren Schritte aus: - Messen eines ersten Positionswertes (H1) des Objekts an der ersten Position (und eines zweiten Positionswertes (H2) des Objekts an der zweiten Position, -Bestimmen einer Positionsänderung (Delta_H) des Objekts im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Förderrichtung unter Verwendung des ersten und des zweiten Positionswertes, und - Kompensation der Positionsänderung beim Drucken des zweiten Abschnitts durch im Wesentlichen nahtloses Drucken des zweiten Abschnitts an den ersten Abschnitt unter Einsatz von einer der Positionsänderung entsprechenden Anzahl von Düsen (9) innerhalb des Überlapp-Bereichs des zweiten Felds und einer komplementären Anzahl von Düsen außerhalb des Überlapp-Bereichs des zweiten Felds.
