Claims (8)

  1. Item of linen (1) for beds, seating and/or reclining furniture, in particular duvet covers or pillowcases, made of a printable natural-fibre fabric, synthetic-fibre fabric or union fabric made up of warp (7) and weft (8) threads, the item of linen (1) being formed as a reversible item of linen having basic fabric parts (2, 3) that are interconnected so as to form a receiving chamber, the item of linen (1) being formed as a multiway item of linen having basic fabric parts (2, 3) made of a 1/1 plain weave or a 1/3 twill weave or a 1/4 satin weave, the basic fabric parts (2, 3) being printed with pigments or Caledon dyes (9) on either side, characterised in that the edges of the reversible item of linen (1) each comprise two quilting seams (4, 6), the first quilting seam (4) being provided such that a seam allowance (5) is provided at each of the edges of the basic fabric parts (2, 3), and the seam allowance (5) at each edge of the reversible item of linen (1) is arranged in a tube (7) formed by a second warp quilting seam (6) so as to be covered, the first quilting seam (4) forming the outer quilting seam in one reversed state of the item of linen (1) and the second quilting seam (6) forming the outer quilting seam in a different reversed state of the item of linen (1).
  2. Item of linen (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the basic fabric parts (2, 3) printed on either side are provided with a barrier layer for preventing the pigment or Caledon dye (9) from being visible from one side of the basic fabric parts (2, 3) to the other.
  3. Item of linen (1) according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the basic fabric parts (2, 3) each have a pick count of from 30 to 66 warp threads (7) per cm and from 30 to 66 weft threads (8) per cm.
  4. Item of linen (1) according to either claim 3 or claim 4, characterised in that the second quilting seam (6) is at a greater spacing than the first quilting seam (4) from the outer edges of the basic fabric parts (2, 3) placed one on top of the other.
  5. Item of linen (1) according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a basic fabric part (2, 3) of the reversible item of linen (1) comprises a closure means consisting of a zip fastener and/or a hook-and-loop fastener and/or a button fastener and/or a hook fastener and/or a hook-and-eye fastener and/or an envelope closure.
  6. Item of linen (1) according to claim 5, characterised in that the basic fabric part (2, 3) comprising the closure means comprises an edge lip that covers the closure means in the use position.
  7. Item of linen (1) according to claim 6, characterised in that the basic fabric part (2, 3) comprising closure means comprises an edge lip that overlaps the closure means in one reversed state and in a different reversed state.
  8. Item of linen (1) according to either claim 6 or claim 7, characterised in that the closure means is provided such that the size of the item of linen (1) can be varied in such a way that said item of linen can be changed from a larger size to a smaller size, and vice versa.
