Verfahren zur Behandlung von Gegenständen, insbesondere von Fahrzeugkarosserien, bei welchem a) ein Gegenstand (12) auf einer Tragstruktur (24) durch eine Behandlungskammer (36) gefördert wird, in welcher eine Betriebsatmosphäre erzeugt ist, die eine höhere Temperatur als die Atmosphäre außerhalb der Behandlungskammer (36) hat, so dass sich sowohl der Gegenstand (12) als auch die Tragstruktur (24) erwärmen; b) der Gegenstand (12) auf der Tragstruktur (24) nach Durchlaufen der Behandlungskammer (36) durch eine Kühlzone (38) gefördert wird, in welcher der Gegenstand (12) und die Tragstruktur (24) abkühlen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass c) zumindest die Tragstruktur (24) in der Kühlzone (38) dadurch abgekühlt wird, dass die Tragstruktur (24) mit einem flüssigen oder festen Kühlmedium (54) beaufschlagt wird. Anlage nach einem der Ansprüche 5 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kühlzone (38) eine Absaugeinrichtung (72) umfasst, mittels welcher mit Kühlmedium (54) bela- dene Luft aus der Kühlzone (38) absaugbar ist.
