Abstract

In Federaufnahmen aufgenommene Schraubendruckfedern (F) sind durch Drehung eines in einer Arbeitsposition angeordneten Ladetellers sukzessive ertlang einer Schleifbahn durch den Schleifraum transportierbar. Während einer Bearbeitungsphase stehen jeweils beide Federenden der im Schleifraum befindlichen Schraubendruckfedern gleichzeitig in einem Kontaktbereich derart in spanabtragendem Eingriff mit einer zugeordneten Schleifscheibe, dass von dem Kontaktbereich ein Partikelstrom mit abgetragenen Partikeln des Werkstoffs der Schraubenfedern ausgeht. An mindestens einer durch den Partikelstrom erreichbaren Position der Federendenschleifmaschine ist eine Schutzeinrichtung (221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226, 227) angebracht. Zumindest eine dem Partikelstrom ausgesetzte Oberfläche der Schutzeinrichtung besteht aus einem anorganischen Nicht-Eisen-Material, z.B. aus Messing. Dadurch kann die Entstehung von störenden eisenhaltigen Ablagerungen an den geschützten Stellen weitgehend unterdrückt werden.

During a processing phase, both spring ends of the helical compression springs located in the grinding space are simultaneously in a contact region in chip-removing engagement with an associated grinding wheel that emanates a particle stream of abraded particles of the material of the helical springs from the contact region. A protective device (221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226, 227) is attached to at least one position of the spring-end grinding machine that can be reached by the particle flow. At least one of the particle flow exposed surface of the protective device consists of an inorganic non-ferrous material, such as brass. As a result, the formation of disturbing iron-containing deposits at the protected sites can be largely suppressed.
