Jedoch ist eine möglichst genaue Ausrichtung des Schaltschlosses, insbesondere des Schalthebels beziehungsweise der Schaltmechanik erwünscht. Dies rührt daher, dass bei bekannten Schalteinheiten durch die Bewegung eines Schalthebels und/oder durch die Bewegung der Schaltmechanik nicht nur ein sondern zwei oder auch mehr Funktionalitäten erfüllt werden können. Das bedeutet, dass zum Beispiel mechanische Schnittstellen vorgesehen sind, welche bei der Betätigung des Schalthebels zwischen zwei Positionen diese Bewegung neben der Schaltmechanik auch an eine andere Mechanik, zum Beispiel ein Betätigungselement übergeben wird. Um sicherzustellen, dass diese Übergabe in mechanisch sicherer Weise funktioniert, ist die möglichst genaue geometrische Positionierung der Schalteinheit innerhalb des elektrischen Schaltgerätes von entscheidender Bedeutung. Erfolgt jedoch die Positionierung der Schalteinheit innerhalb des elektrischen Schaltgerätes über mehrere toleranzbehaftete Anschläge als Toleranzkette, so besteht die Gefahr, dass eine nicht ausreichend genaue Positionierung zustande kommt. Dies kann nur dadurch vermieden werden, dass besonders enge Toleranzangaben für die Fertigung der einzelnen Bauteile vorgegeben werden, so dass sich die aufsummierte Gesamttoleranz dieser Toleranzkette im zulässigen Rahmen bewegt.
