Description

Domaine techniqueTechnical area

The invention relates to a method for sorting postal items in which shipments are placed in stack on edge in an unstacking shop of a postal sorting machine, then the depilated shipments are conveyed on edge by a sorting conveyor to be directed to the sorting outlets of the machine where they are stored in edge stack in storage receptacles associated respectively with said sorting outlets, then the sorted items in the sorting outlets are transferred from these sorting outlets to the unstacking store of the machine or to an unstacking shop of another sorting machine to be sorted again in sorting outlets.

A sorting process on one or more machines generally comprises several sorting passes, for example to prepare factor rounds. At the end of a sorting pass, the sorted items in the sorting outlets must be recycled to the machine and thus returned to the unstacking store of a sorting machine to perform another subsequent sorting pass.

The patent document US 2002/031284 discloses a locker structure for postal sorting in which hammocks are mounted in the lockers for storage on edge of sorted mail. In order to handle the mail, bins with removable dividers are used. This locker structure, however, does not fulfill the same functions as a postal sorting machine with sorting conveyor and does not specify the stages of implementation.

The patent document US 4,643,306 discloses a mail storage bin that has metal separators which prohibits any possibility of using them in a sorting conveyor.

In addition, the patent document WO97 / 36805 describes a postal sorting machine with an unstacking shop, a sorter and sorting outlets with bins. A robot is provided to handle the empty or full bins between the sorting outlets. According to an illustrated embodiment, the tray has a tilting, non-detachable side wall connected by a hinge to the body of the tray.

Finally, examples of storage receptacles for sorting outlets are for example described in the patent documents US 2009/0 028 678 , FR 2,552,743 , FR 2,667,807 . Each drawer-type storage receptacle is generally provided in a housing of a sorting outlet of the machine and the items stored in this storage receptacle must be transferred to a handling container or a box to be returned to a machine. unstacking shop. At the unstacking store, the items must still be picked up by hand in the bins to be stacked on edge on the carpet of the unstacking shop. All these handling of shipments to recycle shipments from sorting outlets to an unstacking warehouse of a sorting machine require a lot of time and attention from machine operators. In addition, these manipulations are painful. Thus, during a working day, a machine operator can manage to handle several tons of mail which poses ergonomic problems of these workstations. Moreover, the stacks of shipments in the handling bins can collapse if they are not tight enough which can cause more disorders in the processing chronology of shipments and thus induce additional operations of restructuring shipments in the unstacking shop.

Exposé de l'inventionPresentation of the invention

The object of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages and to propose an alternative method for sorting postal items.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a method for sorting postal items in which items are placed in stack on edge in an unstacking shop of a postal sorting machine, then the unstuck items are conveyed on edge by a sorting conveyor to be directed to exits sorting the machine where they are stacked on edge in storage receptacles associated respectively with said sorting outlets, then the sorted items in the sorting outlets are transferred from these sorting outlets to the unstacking magazine of the sorting machine. postal sorting or to a depilating store of another postal sorting machine to be sorted again in sorting outlets, characterized in that to transfer the items between the sorting outlets and the unstacking store, these shipments are handled using shuttle bins with variable storage capacity according to the following steps: a) storing the items of a sorting outlet in a shuttle bin comprising a bottom wall on which stacked shipments and a wall of back substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall and on which the stack of shipments on edge is supported, b) position a front wall on the bottom wall of the tray parallel to the back wall in the approaching the back wall so that the stack of mail is clamped between the back wall and the front wall of the trough, said front wall being a plate removable from the bottom wall and being positionable on the bottom wall in several positions to be more or less close to the back wall while remaining parallel to it, c) place the shuttle tray filled with shipments in horizontal alignment with the unstacking magazine of the sorting machine and remove the removable front wall of the tray to slide the mail items on the map of the unstacking shop.

  • la paroi de face d'un bac navette est une plaque souple, le procédé comprenant l'étape de convoyer la paroi de face d'un bac navette dans le convoyeur de tri de la machine de tri postale entre le magasin de dépilage et une sortie de tri ;
  • on utilise les bacs navette à capacité de stockage variable comme réceptacles de stockage associés aux sorties de tri ;
  • chaque paroi de face amovible d'un bac navette est positionnée sur la paroi de fond du bac navette au niveau d'une sortie de tri ou est enlevée du bac navette au niveau du magasin de dépilage à l'aide d'un système de positionnement ou d'enlèvement automatique ;
  • le procédé comprend l'étape de regrouper plusieurs bacs navette sur un socle mobile formant un carrousel dans lequel les bacs navette peuvent être déplacés dans l'espace selon un trajet en boucle s'étendant en hauteur ;
According to features of the method according to the invention:
  • the front wall of a shuttle tank is a flexible plate, the method comprising the step of conveying the front wall of a shuttle tank in the sorting conveyor of the sorting machine between the unstacking magazine and an outlet sorting;
  • shuttle bins with variable storage capacity are used as storage receptacles associated with the sorting outlets;
  • each removable face wall of a shuttle tray is positioned on the bottom wall of the shuttle bin at a sorting outlet or is removed from the shuttle bin at the unstacking magazine by means of a positioning system or automatic removal;
  • the method comprises the step of grouping a plurality of shuttle bins on a mobile pedestal forming a carousel in which the shuttle bins can be moved in the space along a loop path extending in height;
  • the loop path has a rectangular shape.

The idea underlying the invention is therefore to use shuttle bins with variable storage capacity with removable partitions in substitution of conventional handling bins with fixed partitions. These shuttle bins with variable storage capacity can still according to the invention be arranged to be used as sorting outlet receptacles, for example of the drawer type, and therefore be positioned in the housing of the sorting outlets including the accumulation type or stacking. In particular, they will have to be arranged each to receive a mobile pallet for storing a standard mailing stack for sorting outings of the accumulation type.

According to the invention, flexible partitions for shuttle bins are for example placed on edge stack in the unstacking magazine at the end of a first sorting pass shipments. They are automatically depilated and conveyed to the sorting outlets of the machine as conventional postal items. The machine operator then only has to position each partition in a shuttle tray so as to tighten the stack of items stored in the shuttle tray. The shuttle bins are then taken out of the sorting outlets and taken to the unstacking shop. The machine can be equipped with a shuttle tank recirculation system able to automatically convey the bins from the sorting outlets to the unstacking magazine. Alternatively, a cart or the like can be used to carry several shuttle bins at the same time to the unstacking shop. In the unstacking magazine, the machine operator removes the tray's removable flexible partition from one tray to another to empty the contents of the tray into the unstacking magazine. The partitions can then be placed in a stack in the unstacking magazine to be automatically depilated and directed to the sorting outlets.

Description des modes de réalisationDescription of the embodiments

Overall, a shuttle tank with variable storage capacity according to the invention is a tray with a bottom wall on which the ship's edge rest, a back wall secured to the bottom wall being substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall and on which can be supported the front of a stack of shipments and a front wall which is substantially parallel to the back wall and on which can be supported the rear of a stack of shipments. The shuttle tray may comprise one or two sides integral with the bottom wall and the back wall. The front wall is a removable partition which can be positioned at different points relative to the back wall to be more or less close to it so as to clamp a stack of mail between these two back and front walls. .

On the figure 1 there is illustrated a sorting outlet 1 of a postal sorting machine (not shown) with a conventional storage bin 2 of the drawer type. It is understood that a postal sorting machine has several dozens of sorting outlets. Shuttle bins are shown here seen from the side under the reference 3 in a handling arrangement on a mobile base 4. They are shown here each with a bottom wall 3A and a back wall 3B. Eight shuttle bins 3 are here grouped on the mobile base 4 forming a kind of loop-shaped support (represented by a rectangular frame) which extends vertically and which is arranged as a carousel so that the shuttle trays 3 can be moved in space following the rectangular loop to be positioned according to the desired height.

In the provision of the figure 1 , the shipments stored in stack on edge in the receptacle 2 are taken by handle and are transferred to a shuttle tray 3. To perform this operation, an empty shuttle tray 3 can be brought to the horizontal level (indicated by the arrow H) of the receptacle 2 to empty. As visible on the figure 1 , the front of the stack of mail 5 in the shuttle tray 3 presses against the back wall 3B but is held at the back here by one or more removable partitions designated 3C.

On the figure 2 , there is shown the shuttle bins 3 of the figure 1 in front of an unstacking shop 6 of a sorting machine. The base 4 is here shown on a rolling base. To unload a shuttle ferry 3 filled with postal items 5, the operator first places the shuttle ferry 3 substantially in horizontal alignment with the plane of the unstacking magazine 6. Then the operator here removes a first movable partition 3C, grasps a handful of postal items and slides on the map of the unstacking store 6. You can have several removable partitions 3C in the same shuttle tray 3 to better maintain the shipments stack 5 on edge.

On the figure 3 , there is illustrated a shuttle ferry 3 with variable storage capacity seen in perspective. It is here in the form of a parallelepiped composed of four connected walls and a wall or removable partition 3C. On this figure 3 two removable partitions 3C are shown placed against the back wall 3B. Each removable partition 3C is in the form of a plate that can be fixed to the bottom wall of the tray by a fixing system of the type pion / series of holes for example. A pallet 7 for holding a stack of mail items 5 which is movable in the shuttle ferry 3 is also illustrated inside the shuttle ferry. This configuration corresponds to a shuttle ferry 3 specially designed to replace a ferry receptacle. Sorting output stacking or accumulation and can also have the ability to be extracted from the housing of the sorting outlet to be handled as illustrated on the Figures 1 and 2 .

Ils peuvent être munis d'étiquettes électroniques d'identification du type RFID.Lids can be provided for these shuttle bins 3 so as to be stacked on top of each other when they are filled for transport by truck in particular. These shuttle bins 3 can advantageously be designed to be nestable empty in each other. They may be provided with electronic identification tags of the RFID type.

The removable partitions 3C shuttle bins 3 can be designed as flexible plates can be passed in a sorting conveyor of a sorting machine. The sorting machine can be advantageously equipped with a system for positioning and automatic removal of the flexible partitions in the shuttle bins 3 both at the sorting outlets and the unstacking magazine.

Advantageously, these shuttle bins 3 with variable storage capacity according to the invention make it possible to optimize the handling of the items. Indeed, stacks of items can be easily concatenated in these shuttle bins 3 with the help of removable partitions which finally allows to transport in the same volume shuttle bins 3 better filled. This therefore reduces the cost of transport and thus optimize the operating costs of a postal sorting machine.
