Description

The invention relates to a sliding closure for a metallurgical container according to the preamble of claim 1.

Slide closures of this type are known in various embodiments. The publication EP 1 119 428 discloses, for example, a sliding closure comprising two refractory closure plates with a metal housing attachable to the container, which accommodates the upper closure plate and a container-side refractory inlet sleeve. Serving for opening and closing a spout opening lower closure or slide plate is in a metal slide unit arranged, which also receives a subsequent to the slide plate refractory spout.

As is known, the refractory parts of the sliding closure, in particular the two closure plates, but also the container-side inlet sleeve and the sealing plate sealingly adjoining spout are exposed to heavy wear and must therefore be replaced regularly.

By the resulting high temperatures during casting but also the inlet sleeve and the upper closure plate receiving housing as well as the slide plate and this spout sleeve-containing slide unit is heavily stressed, especially in the spout and the inlet sleeve enclosing, lying near the flow opening area where the highest temperatures prevail and therefore the strongest tensions arise. In addition, the sliding closure undergoes a strong heating from below, so that in particular this pouring sleeve receiving the slide unit is subjected to extremely high levels of thermal stress.

The same problem also arises with sliding closures, which comprise a slide plate displaceable between two stationary closure plates (cf., for example, US Pat EP 0 891 829 A1 ), in which the housing attachable to the container in addition to the two stationary closure plates and the inlet sleeve and the spout or the pouring tube receives.

The present invention has been based on the object to provide a sliding closure of the type mentioned, which better withstand the resulting during casting high temperatures.

The object is achieved according to the invention by a sliding closure according to the features of claim 1.

Further preferred embodiments of the inventive sliding closure form the subject of the dependent claims.

Characterized in that according to the invention, the slide unit is provided with a spout enclosing the inner part, which is detachably connected to the remaining part of the slide unit and this thermally expandable, just at the points where the highest temperatures prevail, the stresses in the slide unit degraded and the risk of cracks occurring is considerably reduced.

In sliding closures, which are equipped with two or more closure plates, it is in particular the slide unit, which is additionally exposed from below a strong heating and can be effectively protected by the inventive two-part design.

However, the invention is also applicable to sliding closures comprising two fixed closure plates and a slide plate slidable therebetween. Here it is the housing attachable to the container, which receives in its lower part the spout (or a pouring tube) and is exposed from the bottom of the particularly strong heating.

Fig.1 shows a sliding closure 1 for a metallurgical container, which may be, for example, used in a continuous casting plant ladle for molten steel. The container itself is not apparent from the drawing. The sliding closure 1 has a fastened to the container metal housing 2, in which an upper closure plate 3 is held from a refractory material, pressed against a container side, also refractory inlet sleeve 4, which is guided into a container hole punch, not shown.

Another, lower closure plate 5, a so-called slide plate is held in a longitudinally movable metal slide unit 6 thereof and in an example of the EP 1 119 428 in a known and therefore not described manner pressed against the upper closure plate 3. In the slide unit 6, a subsequent to the slide plate 5 refractory spout 8 is further arranged, which is pressed by means of a Verspannungsorgans 9 to the slide plate 5. By moving the slide unit 6 and the slide plate 5 inserted therein from the in Fig. 1 illustrated opening position in a throttle or closed position, the through the inlet sleeve 4 and the upper closure plate 3 with its through hole 3a defined spout opening 10 can be partially or completely closed. In Fig. 1 the connection 11 of the slide unit 6 is indicated on a linear drive effecting displacement.

The two closure plates 3, 5 are centered in the respective housing by means of centering members 13 in a manner known per se and not further described below.

According to the invention, the slide plate 5 and the spout 8 receiving slide unit 6 is provided with a spout 8 surrounding the inner part 7a, which is detachably connected to the remaining part 7b of the slide unit 6 and this thermally expandable.

In the illustrated embodiment, the inner part 7a, which also made Fig. 2 it can be seen, two diametrically opposite flange 17, 18, with which it can be guided into corresponding grooves 19 of the remaining slide unit 7b and then screwed with this. For this purpose, preferably shoulder screws 20 and for this in the one flange 17, a fitting opening 21 and in the other flange 18 a slot 22 are provided. While the one fitting shoulder screw 20 and the fitting opening 21 of the inner part, which is in a bayonet-type connection in its lower region 27 with the already mentioned bracing member 9 for bracing the spout 8 with the overlying closure plate 5, allows the slot 22 a thermal expansion of the inner part 7a transverse to the axis A of the spout opening 10. Between the engaging on the bayonet ring 9 from the outside inner part and the spout 8, a radial air gap 28 is present, which forms a kind of temperature barrier between the spout 8 and the two-part slide unit 6.

The fitting shoulder screws 20 screwed into the slide unit 6 are advantageously arranged in a longitudinal center plane of the slide fastener. Preferably, that flange part 22 of the inner part is provided with the elongated hole 22 for the fitting shoulder screw 20, which is closer to the axis A of the spout opening during displacement of the slide unit 6 in the closed position and therefore, for example, in a throttle position the sliding closure of the higher temperature is exposed.

At the in Fig. 1 illustrated embodiment, the attachable to the container housing 2 is in two parts and provided with a the inlet sleeve 4 enclosing, preferably annular inner part 2a. This serving as a wear ring inner part 2a is detachably connected via a number of axially directed, distributed over the circumference fastening bolts 30 with the rest of the housing 2b. The inner part 2a has a conical, upwardly tapering inner surface 31, which rests on a conical, upwardly tapering outer shoulder surface 32 of the inlet sleeve 4. Cylindrical inner surfaces 33, 34 adjoin the conical inner surface 31, wherein a radial air gap 35 is present between these cylindrical inner surfaces 33, 34 and the outer circumference of the inlet sleeve 4.

Due to the fact that the housing 2 which can be fastened to the container, but above all the housing frame 7 of the slide unit 6, is designed in two parts and has an inner part 2a enclosing the pouring sleeve 8 or the inlet sleeve 4; 7a is provided, are formed with the air gaps and thermal expansion is possible, just in the places where the greatest temperatures prevail, the stresses in the housing frame 7 and in the housing 2 degraded and the risk of cracks, significantly reduced. In sliding closures, which are equipped with two closure plates, it is the slide unit 6, which is additionally exposed from below a strong heating and can be effectively protected by the inventive two-part design.

According to Fig. 3 on the one hand, this upper, the inlet sleeve 4 centering, designed as a ring inner part 2a and on the other hand, a housing 2 containing and the inlet sleeve 4 partially surrounding inner part 2a ' intended. This inner part 2a 'is formed in two parts and, advantageously, it is arranged at a distance from the inlet sleeve 4.

However, the invention is also applicable to sliding closures comprising two fixed closure plates and a slide plate slidable therebetween. Here it is the housing attachable to the container, which receives in its lower part the spout (or a pouring tube) and is exposed from the bottom of the particularly strong heating. This housing may be formed in two parts at least in the area surrounding the spout sleeve and have a thermally expandable inner part. Of course, however, this housing could also be equipped with a further inner part in the region of the inlet sleeve.

As a housing material is particularly suitable gray cast iron or ductile iron. The inner parts 7a, 2a and the other housing sections 7b, 2b can also consist of different materials. The fasteners such. B. the passport shoulder screws 20 are also made of a temperature-resistant material as possible.
