Definitions
- the invention relates to a sports shoe in the form of a rigid rod consisting of a collar articulated on a shell surrounding the foot, provided with a locking device or locking the collar on the shell to lock or block the collar relative to the hull in a first sporting position, and to unlock the collar relative to the hull and to increase its range of motion relative to the hull in a second position outside the sport practice for example, to facilitate footwear and walking.
- the invention also relates to a device for locking and unlocking a collar on a shell as such for a sports shoe.
- the locking device of the collar on the shell rests on a rocker positioned on the collar and cooperating with an abutment of the hull, the operation of which is controlled by an opening buckle of the boot via a connecting cable.
- the skier wishes to rest or walk, he unhooks the buckle of the boot, which has the effect of releasing the traction of the cable, which induces a change of position of the rocker under the effect of a spring, in order to unlock the collar and allow it to rotate to a position close to the vertical, suitable for walking, a rest position and the boot and release of the shoe.
- the document EP2070433 discloses another solution which is based on a rocker rotatably mounted on the boot around a first pivot, which can be actuated by a lever rotatably mounted relative to the rocker around a second pivot, and which cooperates with the boot by a cam surface so as to cause the rocker to rotate to change or not its positioning, and reach the two positions of locking or unlocking the shoe.
- This solution has the disadvantage of being complex because it requires many pieces arranged in a complex manner, necessarily requiring two axes of rotation.
- the document EP 0 940 096 A2 discloses a locking and unlocking device for forming an interface between the shell and the collar of a sports boot, comprising a rocker movable in rotation about an axis, a lever movable in rotation and comprising a part forming an arm of actuation, and an elastic element connected to the lever.
- a general object of the present invention is a locking / unlocking solution of the collar on the shell of a sports shoe does not have the disadvantages of the prior art.
- a first object of the present invention is a locking / unlocking solution of the collar on the shell of a sports shoe whose operation is efficient.
- a second object of the present invention is a locking / unlocking solution of the collar on the shell of a sports shoe whose mechanism is simple, compact and inexpensive.
- the invention is based on a solution combining a rocker and a lever, on which acts an elastic element.
- the invention will be described in application with a ski boot. It could, however, apply to any sports shoe rigid rod, ie a rod, comprising a mobile collar relative to a shell, and substantially in a material at least as rigid as a polyurethane 40 hardness shD.
- the figure 1 represents a ski boot according to the embodiment of the invention, which comprises a collar 2 mounted to rotate with respect to a shell 1 about an axis 3. On the other hand, it comprises in its rear part a device locking / unlocking device 10, shown enlarged on the figure 1 to make it easier to understand and especially figure 2 , comprising a rocker 11 that can cooperate with a stop 4 of the shell 1.
- locking position In a first position called “locking position", the rocker 11 is held in abutment against the surface of the shoe and comes in cooperation with the abutment 4 of the shell, thus preventing any rearward rotation of the collar 2 relative to the shell 1
- This locking or locking position of the collar of the shoe is provided for the practice of skiing.
- unlocking position In a second position called “unlocking position", the rocker 11 is kept away from the surface of the boot and no longer bears against the stop 4, thus allowing a greater rotation. amplitude of the collar 2 relative to the shell 1, including a tilt backwards. This unlocking position of the boot is especially provided for walking.
- the figures 2 and 3 illustrate the locking and unlocking device 10 of the boot according to the embodiment, in a locking position. It comprises a base 12 for attachment to the shoe. In this embodiment, the base 12 is fixed on the collar 2 of the shoe. A rocker 11 is rotatably mounted about an axis 13, fixed on this base 12 and positioned in the upper part of the rocker. The axis 13 is substantially parallel to the base 12, that is to the surface of the shoe. The rocker 11 further comprises a surface 14 towards its lower end, intended to cooperate with the abutment 4 of the shoe to implement the locking function.
- a lever 15 is rotatably mounted about the same axis 13.
- a linear spring 16 working in compression comprises a first end fixed to the base 12 or simply resting in a housing of the base 12 and a second end attached to the lever 15.
- a cover 17 covers a part of the device, in particular the spring 16, to protect it from external aggressions and at the same time bring an attractive aesthetic appearance to the device.
- the figure 4 illustrates an intermediate configuration of this unlocking phase, in which an excrescence 18 of the lever 15, on which the spring 16 is moreover fixed, bears on an upper surface 19 of the lever 11. From this position, the continued rotation of the lever 15 induces a thrust on the rocker 11 at the contact between the protrusion 18 and the upper surface 19 of the rocker 11, which causes the rotation of the rocker 11 about the axis 13, until to remove it from the wall of the shoe as shown on the figure 5 which corresponds to the unlocked position of the device.
- This unlocking phase thus comprises a rotation of the lever 15 at an angle slightly greater than 90 degrees, until it abuts the hood 17.
- the spring 16 exerts a force which assists the user in unlocking the locking and unlocking device, or even suffices for this actuation which becomes automatic and no longer requires the intervention of the user.
- the transition from the unlocked position to the locked position requires the lever 15 to be actuated in rotation in the other direction.
- a user In a first phase, a user must exert a force to overcome the opposite force exerted by the spring 16, which tends to keep the lever in the unlocking position, which is therefore a stable position. Beyond a limit angle, the force exerted by the spring 16 tends to the rotation of the lever 15 to the locking position, and assists the user or replaces it by allowing the automatic or semi-automatic rotation of the lever 15 .
- the figure 6 represents an intermediate phase of this rotation, in which a surface 21 of the lever comes into contact with a surface 22 of the rocker 11, so as to exert a thrust force on the rocker which causes its rotation to its locking position illustrated on the figure 3 .
- this device allows partial decoupling of the lever 15 and the rocker 11.
- the lever 15 in each initial phase of actuation of the lever 15, from one of the two stable positions, it is actuated in rotation independently of the rocker 11, without any effect on the rocker 11.
- the device thus makes it possible to separate the actuation of the lever 15 of the blocking function of the boot directly implemented by the rocker.
- the actuating lever 15 is at least partially free of movement relative to the rocker, so that the actuating force of this lever is independent of any forces exerted by the boot on the rocker.
- the spring 16 exerts a force on the device and allows its automatic positioning in the desired configuration, possibly with a delay in its final configuration if the relative position of the collar relative to the hull of the boot momentarily prevents the rocker locking and unlocking device to reach its final position.
- this situation can occur for example if in the unlocking phase, the collar is positioned too far back and exerts a pressing force on the rocker preventing its rotation, because of its friction on the shell which does not not allow to escape to its stop position.
- the rocker 11 immediately reaches its unlocked final position separated from the hull, represented on the figure 5 under the effect of the stress exerted by the spring.
- the spring thus allows the locking and unlocking device to occupy two stable positions, as explained above. Its action on the lever represents a knee-type system.
- the locking and unlocking device can operate differently, be fixed on the shell and abut on the collar to fulfill the locking function, inversely with respect to the embodiment shown in FIG. figure 1 .
- the spring may have any other orientation than that illustrated, for which it has a variable inclination between the two end positions of the device which remains less than 30 degrees relative to a vertical direction. It could for example approach a horizontal direction, have a variable inclination but less than 30 degrees from a horizontal direction. Finally, it could occupy any inclination relative to the base or the shoe, and any range of motion between the locked and unlocked positions of the device less than 30 degrees.
- its intrinsic properties as well as its compression in the locked position are defined to obtain a good compromise between the stability of the locked and unlocked positions and the manual effort necessary to change position.
- this linear compression spring could also occupy a curved configuration under the significant compressive force that it undergoes, without modifying the operation explained above.
- this spring could work in tension between a fixed connection with the shoe, possibly via a base, and a connection with the lever of the device.
- it is possible to set up an adjustment of the force required to manipulate the lever by moving by any means the end of the spring fixed on the base.
- the spring can be replaced by any equivalent elastic element, such as a torsion spring, an elastic bending blade, a flexible element and elastic for example viscoelastic material which works in compression.
- the lever has been shown to comprise a first substantially cylindrical portion about an axis of rotation, comprising a spring attachment member and a bearing surface on the rocker, and a second elongate portion forming an arm portion. manual operation.
- this arm can be greatly reduced, or even eliminated in an embodiment that does not form part of the invention, to reduce the overall size of the assembly.
- a simple string or cable or strap or any flexible element can be fixed on the lever to allow its rotation by simply pulling this flexible element.
- a screwdriver type tool can be used for rotation of the lever.
- lever and the base have been described as rotatable about the same axis, which is a simple solution. However, alternatively, they can be rotatable along two distinct axes.
- the locking and unlocking device can be further simplified, by removing its base for example and fixing the components directly on the shoe.
- the hood can also be removed.

Description
The invention relates to a sports shoe in the form of a rigid rod consisting of a collar articulated on a shell surrounding the foot, provided with a locking device or locking the collar on the shell to lock or block the collar relative to the hull in a first sporting position, and to unlock the collar relative to the hull and to increase its range of motion relative to the hull in a second position outside the sport practice for example, to facilitate footwear and walking. The invention also relates to a device for locking and unlocking a collar on a shell as such for a sports shoe.
According to a first solution, the locking device of the collar on the shell rests on a rocker positioned on the collar and cooperating with an abutment of the hull, the operation of which is controlled by an opening buckle of the boot via a connecting cable. When the skier wishes to rest or walk, he unhooks the buckle of the boot, which has the effect of releasing the traction of the cable, which induces a change of position of the rocker under the effect of a spring, in order to unlock the collar and allow it to rotate to a position close to the vertical, suitable for walking, a rest position and the boot and release of the shoe.
The disadvantage of this solution is that the unlocking of the collar rests on a loosening of the cable, which often has an effect insufficient to activate the unlocking. The skier must sometimes manually assist the mechanism by forcing on the shoe to reach the unlocked position. On the other hand, the existing mechanisms are complex and expensive, and do not make it possible to properly transform the major cable race in a small race of the rocker. For all these reasons, this first solution is not suitable.

The invention will be described in application with a ski boot. It could, however, apply to any sports shoe rigid rod, ie a rod, comprising a mobile collar relative to a shell, and substantially in a material at least as rigid as a polyurethane 40 hardness shD.
In a first position called "locking position", the
In a second position called "unlocking position", the
On the other hand, a
The operation of this locking and unlocking
In the locking position, the
As a remark, throughout the second part of the rotation of the
Note that this device allows partial decoupling of the
On the other hand, the
This situation can occur for example if in the locking phase, the collar is positioned too far back, preventing the rotation of the rocker to its abutment position on the hull. On the other hand, as soon as the collar is turned forward with respect to the hull so as to free a sufficient space between the collar and the hull in the rear part of the boot, the
The spring thus allows the locking and unlocking device to occupy two stable positions, as explained above. Its action on the lever represents a knee-type system.
- le verrouillage et déverrouillage est performant par l'action d'une force élastique suffisante pour maintenir de manière stable les deux positions du dispositif ;
- le changement de position du dispositif est convivial car il est assisté et comprend une phase automatique ;
- l'actionnement du dispositif est aussi convivial par le fait que la rotation du levier se fait dans le même sens que celui de la bascule, ce qui permet naturellement et intuitivement à un utilisateur de manipuler le levier dans la bonne direction ;
- the locking and unlocking is effective by the action of a sufficient elastic force to maintain stably the two positions of the device;
- the change of position of the device is user-friendly because it is assisted and includes an automatic phase;
- the actuation of the device is also user-friendly in that the rotation of the lever is in the same direction as that of the rocker, which naturally and intuitively allows a user to manipulate the lever in the right direction;
- the mechanism is simple, inexpensive and compact because the parts are small in size and space saving.
Naturally, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and may have many variants.
In addition, the spring may have any other orientation than that illustrated, for which it has a variable inclination between the two end positions of the device which remains less than 30 degrees relative to a vertical direction. It could for example approach a horizontal direction, have a variable inclination but less than 30 degrees from a horizontal direction. Finally, it could occupy any inclination relative to the base or the shoe, and any range of motion between the locked and unlocked positions of the device less than 30 degrees. In addition, its intrinsic properties as well as its compression in the locked position are defined to obtain a good compromise between the stability of the locked and unlocked positions and the manual effort necessary to change position.
As a remark, this linear compression spring could also occupy a curved configuration under the significant compressive force that it undergoes, without modifying the operation explained above. Alternatively, this spring could work in tension between a fixed connection with the shoe, possibly via a base, and a connection with the lever of the device. According to another embodiment, it is possible to set up an adjustment of the force required to manipulate the lever by moving by any means the end of the spring fixed on the base. Naturally, the spring can be replaced by any equivalent elastic element, such as a torsion spring, an elastic bending blade, a flexible element and elastic for example viscoelastic material which works in compression.
Next, the lever has been shown to comprise a first substantially cylindrical portion about an axis of rotation, comprising a spring attachment member and a bearing surface on the rocker, and a second elongate portion forming an arm portion. manual operation.
Alternatively, this arm can be greatly reduced, or even eliminated in an embodiment that does not form part of the invention, to reduce the overall size of the assembly. For this, a simple string or cable or strap or any flexible element, can be fixed on the lever to allow its rotation by simply pulling this flexible element. Alternatively, a screwdriver type tool can be used for rotation of the lever.
In addition, the lever and the base have been described as rotatable about the same axis, which is a simple solution. However, alternatively, they can be rotatable along two distinct axes.
Finally, the locking and unlocking device can be further simplified, by removing its base for example and fixing the components directly on the shoe. In addition, the hood can also be removed.
