Description

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for accepting or dispensing banknotes.

Devices for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes are known. The known devices are based on the recognition that a compartment which is used for the input of accepted banknotes, is also used for the return of banknotes that could not be accepted, z. B. because they could not be recognized or because of disturbances in the processing occurred. Furthermore, the tray can be used for dispensing banknotes.

From the DE 102 03 176 B4 In addition, such a device for the acceptance or dispensing or return of banknotes is known in which a stack of loose banknotes is entered into an opening of the device or is removed from the opening. From or to this opening, the entire stack of banknotes for further processing or removal of banknotes is transported. For this purpose, a transport system is provided with an upper and a lower part, between which the stack of banknotes is clamped for transport, for which, for example, the upper part of the transport system is moved to the lower part of the transport system, on which the stack of banknotes rests. In the issue and return of banknotes, it is intended to transport the stack of banknotes so far that the stack of banknotes protrudes from the opening, so that the banknotes can be gripped by an operator.

Since it is intended to prevent the banknotes from falling out of the opening of the device during the dispensing or returning of banknotes, the banknotes are generally transported only so far that they protrude from the opening by less than half their dimension. In addition, the banknotes can still be clamped by the transport system to prevent accidental falling out safely.

These measures for preventing the banknotes from falling out make it difficult for the operator to remove the banknotes from the apparatus when they protrude from the opening. Namely, the operator has to pull the bills out of the apparatus a considerable distance against the clamping force of the transport system. If, however, dispensed with the clamping, the banknotes are indeed easier to remove from the operator, but increases the risk of unintentional falling out of the banknotes.

Ähnliche Vorrichtungen sind aus der EP 0540867 , der EP 0602775 , der WO 2007057471 und der DE 10239227 bekannt.Similar devices are known from EP 0540867 , of the EP 0602775 , of the WO 2007057471 and the DE 10239227 known.

In addition, it is from the application DE 10 2008 030 878 A1 the applicant knows that the banknotes to be issued or returned are transported by a predetermined length from the input and output position, whereupon the transport of the banknotes to be issued or returned is stopped and it is monitored whether the banknotes are moved by the operator from the device, whereupon the bills are again transported out of the device if the movement of the bills is detected during the monitoring.

The last-mentioned application already supports the operator considerably and takes into account the behavior of the operator when removing banknotes to a certain extent, whereby unintentional falling out of the banknotes can be avoided. However, from the The prior art does not disclose devices and methods for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes that adapt to the individual habits of the operators when entering or removing banknotes. On the one hand, this leads to an uncomfortable situation for the operator during operation. On the other hand, it has been shown that it comes just by the lack of adaptation to the individual operating habits to incorrect operations. These incorrect operations occur because the operators get the impression at certain times that the input or removal is not automatically continued.

The object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method for accepting or dispensing banknotes, which take into account individual habits of operators in the input or withdrawal of banknotes by the operator in the acceptance or issue or return of the banknotes ,

This object is achieved by the features of the independent claims.

The invention is based on a method for accepting or issuing or returning bank notes, in which notes to be accepted and / or to be dispensed or to be returned are transported from or to an input and output position to or from a processing position. According to the invention, at least one input speed for the banknotes is determined upon input of banknotes to be accepted or at least one withdrawal rate for the banknotes upon the issue or return of banknotes to be issued or returned, and the banknotes to be accepted are transported at a transport speed. which substantially corresponds to the input or removal speed transported, whereas the banknotes to be issued or returned are transported at a transport speed which substantially corresponds to the withdrawal or input speed.

The advantage of the invention is to be seen in particular in that the banknotes are moved on acceptance and / or issue or return at a speed by the transport system, which is adapted to the input or removal speed of the respective operator in the input or withdrawal of the banknotes , This leads to a more comfortable operation. In addition, erroneous operations are avoided, which often occur at unadapted speed in the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes. Namely, such erroneous operations result, for example, when the speed at the automatic collection of banknotes is less than the speed at which the banknotes are entered by the operator. In this case, the operator gets the impression that the automatic feeding process of the banknotes into the input tray would not or not continue properly, for which reason the operator holds the bank notes or tries to pull them out of the input tray. Similar erroneous operations also occur in the case where the banknotes are automatically fed at a speed higher than the speed with which the operator inputs the bill. Accordingly, erroneous operations result in the automatic dispensing of banknotes if their speed does not correspond to the speed of removal by the operator.

Further advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the dependent claims and the following description of an embodiment of the invention with reference to figures.

In FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a device 1 for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes, with a compartment for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes, one of a diaphragm or a visor 2 closable opening 2 'as an input and output position having.

FIG. 2 shows the in FIG. 1 illustrated embodiment of the device 1 for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes, the panel 2 has been removed to release the view of the opening 2 'of the compartment 3 for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes. As a result, components 4 of a separator for the separation of banknotes are visible. In addition, one of a first, upper part 6 and a second, lower part 5 existing transport system 5, 6, the function of which will be described in more detail below. The transport system 5, 6 is in its starting position, in which the upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 is moved away from the lower part 5 at most. The dimensioning of a thereby resulting between the upper and lower part of the transport system 5, 6 distance depends essentially on a maximum amount to be transported banknotes, ie, the distance is dependent on the thickness of the assumed by the and / or to be issued or returned banknotes formed stack. In the illustrated embodiment, the transport system is formed by belts. However, it is obvious that a roller transport system or a differently constructed transport system can be used.

FIG. 3 shows the transport system 5, 6 of the device 1 for the acceptance or issue or return of banknotes, after banknotes BN by an operator in the through side walls 8 (see FIG. 2 ) and a limited edition of 7 were entered. By dimensioning the diaphragm 2 and the parts receiving them (not shown), the opening 2 'is defined such that the banknotes BN by the operator not to the end of the tray 3, that is to say from a separating roller 4 and a retaining roller 4' existing separator 4, 4 'can be entered. On the other hand, the banknotes BN can be entered into the compartment 3 so far that, after the operator releases them, they are safely in the compartment 3 and will not fall out. The dimensioning of tray 3, panel 2 and the parts receiving the panel 2 is dependent on the size of the banknotes to be entered and should enable the banknotes to be entered into compartment 3 for more than half the longitudinal dimension of the largest banknote. Alternatively or additionally, it may be provided that when entering the banknotes BN in the tray 3 a Sensor 9, z. B. a photocell or a light sensor, the input of the banknotes BN determined, whereupon the transport system 5, 6, as described below, the notes BN within the compartment 3 takes over and jammed. This ensures on the one hand that the banknotes BN can not be entered by the operator as far as the separator 4, 4 '. On the other hand, the banknotes BN can not unintentionally fall out of the bin 3.

After or during the input of the stack of banknotes BN, the upper part of the transport system 6 is moved along the travel path R, for example by means of a parallel drive in the direction of the lower part 5 until the banknotes BN are clamped between the lower part 5 and the upper part 6. The upper part 6 can be brought by means of a spring in a spring-loaded position, so that the banknotes between the upper 6 and lower part 5 are held by a defined clamping force. As described above, the method of the upper part 6 can be controlled by evaluating a signal of the photocell 9. But there may be other sensors 15,16, z. As photocells or light sensor, be present. The upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 is then moved in the direction of the lower part 5, if both light barrier 15 and light barrier 16 is covered by the banknotes BN. This ensures that the banknotes BN are in the area of the transport system 5, 6. For the evaluation of the signal of the light barriers 9,15,16 and the control of the transport system 5, 6 and other components of the device 1, a control device 11 may be provided, for example a microcomputer.

After the banknotes BN have been clamped, a first estimate can be derived from the position of the upper part 6 of the transport system 6, How many banknotes BN have been entered, ie the number of banknotes BN to be accepted can be approximately determined. This also allows to detect if the maximum allowable amount of banknotes has been exceeded, e.g. B. the entry of more than 100 banknotes. In this case, the acceptance process may be terminated and the operator may be requested to remove the banknotes BN and enter a smaller amount of banknotes.

When accepting banknotes BN, the banknotes BN clamped between upper 6 and lower 5 are transported by the transport system 5, 6 into the compartment 3. In an advantageous manner, both parts 5, 6 of the transport system 5, 6 are driven. But it is also possible, as in FIG. 3 shown to drive only one of the parts 5 or 6, z. B. the lower part 5 by means of a motor 12 which is controlled by the control device 11. The banknotes BN are completely transported into the compartment 3, so that the panel 2 can be closed. After closing the panel 2, the upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 can be moved away from the banknotes BN or the clamping can be at least loosened and the banknotes BN can by means of the singulator 4,4 'singulated and individually in the direction T1 in the device 1 are transported for further processing.

This is followed by the processing of the entered banknotes BN, ie their acceptance. For this purpose, the device 1 for accepting and / or issuing or returning banknotes is connected to a banknote processing device. The banknote processing device may, for example, a transport device, a sensor device, a storage device for banknotes, z. B. one or more cassettes for different types of banknotes, a buffer for the storage of banknotes during processing, etc. have.

If errors occur during the processing, the acceptance can be aborted and it can be provided that the entered banknotes BN are wholly or partly returned to the operator. Likewise, bank notes that are not recognized during processing, bank notes that have been detected twice or more by the separator 4, 4 ', etc., can be returned to the operator. For this purpose, the banknotes BN to be returned are transported in the direction T2 from the device 1 into the compartment 3. In order to separate the banknotes to be returned from the not yet isolated banknotes entered, a separating element 17 (FIG. FIG. 2 ) be provided. Banknotes to be issued and z. B. come from the above-mentioned cassettes of the device 1, are transported in the direction of T2 in the tray 3. The upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 is in this case, for example, in its starting position in order to create space in compartment 3 for the bank notes to be dispensed or returned.

After all banknotes to be issued or returned are in compartment 3, the upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 is moved along the travel path R against the banknotes BN until they are clamped. The banknotes BN are then transported by the transport system 5, 6 in the direction of the panel 2 and the panel 2 is opened. The stack of banknotes BN is transported by the transport device 5, 6 until the banknotes BN protrude so far (length A) from the opening formed by the panel 2 that the operator can grasp and remove the banknotes BN. The transport of the banknotes out of the opening is controlled, for example, by evaluation of the signals of the light barrier 9 by the control device 11. After the front edge of the banknotes 9 was detected by the light barrier 9, the motor 12 or drive the transport system 5, 6 is operated for a certain period of time, resulting from the transport speed of the transport system 5, 6 and the predetermined length A, about which the banknotes BN on the Aperture 2 should protrude.

When the banknotes BN are grasped by the operator and pulled out of the device, a sensor 10, e.g. As a clock, which is advantageously equipped with a direction of rotation detection, the movement of the stack of banknotes BN by the operator. Such a clock may, for example, comprise a timing disc which sits on a shaft of the transport system and has a transmitter and receiver for detecting bar lines. For detecting the direction of rotation, the timing disk has two different bar line systems, which are detected by the transmitter and receiver during rotation of the timing disk. By evaluating the signals of the receiver, z. In the control device 11, the rotation and the direction of rotation are detected.

For easier removal of the banknotes BN from the device 1, the transport system 5, 6, which clamps the stack of banknotes BN, a game B have. Advantageously, the size of the game B is determined such that the stack of banknotes BN can be moved so far that at least a certain, predetermined number of bar lines of transmitter and receiver of the clock 10 can be detected. As soon as the control device 11 recognizes from the signals of the timer 10 that the banknotes BN are detected by the operator and pulled out of the device 1, ie the predetermined number of bar lines has been counted, the control device 11 starts the drive or motor 12 of the transport system 5, 6, to transport the stack of banknotes BN from the device 1 and thus to assist the operator.

The drive or motor 12 can be turned off by the controller 11, z. B. after the evaluation of the signal of the light barrier 9 shows that the trailing edge of the stack of banknotes BN has passed the light barrier 9. Finally, the control device 11 can also cause the upper part 6 of the transport system 5, 6 is moved back to its original position, for example, to allow the re-entry of banknotes BN. For controlling the drive or motor 12, the signals of the clock generator 10 can also be evaluated by the control device 11. For example, the drive 12 may be switched off after a certain number of clocks of the clock 12, which corresponds to the length A, the banknotes BN from the opening formed by the aperture 2 corresponds.

The above-described game B of the transport system 5, 6 may also have a restoring force, for. B. a return spring to be kept at a stop. If the operator stops pulling on the banknotes BN, the restoring force acts. As a result, it can be determined by the controller 11 that the operator no longer pulls on the banknotes BN. The control device 11 can then stop the drive or motor 12 of the transport system 5, 6, so that they are not completely transported out of the clamping of the transport system 5, 6 and fall out of the opening formed by the panel 2. During the dispensing of the banknotes, which is assisted by the drive or motor 12, the control device 11 can continuously check whether the operator continues to pull on the banknotes in order to avoid the unintended fall-out of the banknotes BN described above.

In the event that the operator forgets to remove the banknotes BN to be issued or returned from the compartment 3, the banknotes to be returned BN, z. B. 20 seconds after they were presented to the operator, transported by the transport system 5, 6 under the control of the controller 11 again in the tray 3 and the panel 2 is closed. Subsequently, the banknotes BN to be issued or returned are singulated and stored in the banknote processing device connected to the device 1 for accepting or returning or returning banknotes, e.g. In one of the cassettes described above, or a special forgotten banknote container.

Figure imgb0001
When entering banknotes BN by the operator for the acceptance of banknotes BN by the device is also determined by a sensor, with which input speed v E banknotes BN are entered by the operator in the tray 3. For this purpose, the light barriers or light scanners 9, 15, 16 described above can be used. If, for example, the light barriers 9 and 15 are used which have a distance from one another which corresponds to a distance s, the input speed v E can be determined when the times at which the banknotes trigger the light barriers 9 and 15, respectively, are determined. If the first light barrier 9 from the input view is triggered at a time t1 and the light barrier 15 behind it at a time t2 by the banknotes BN entered by the operator, then the input speed v E with which the banknotes are obtained by the operator into the compartment 3 will be entered according to equation (1). v e = s t 1 - t 2
Figure imgb0001

Subsequently, as in the above-described assumption of the banknotes BN, the banknotes BN clamped between the upper 6 and lower part 5 and automatically transported by the transport system 5, 6 in the tray 3. For this purpose, the controller 11 calculates according to equation (1), with which input speed v E the banknotes BN were entered by the operator. Based on the determined input speed v E and the known design data of the transport device 5, 6 stored in the control device 11, the drive 12 is controlled by the control device 11 in such a manner that the bank notes are transported at a speed upon acceptance by the transport system 5, 6 which substantially corresponds to the input speed v E of the input of the banknotes BN by the operator.

Figure imgb0002
In addition, for the removal of banknotes BN by the operator in the issue or return of banknotes BN can be determined by a sensor with which removal rate v A banknotes BN are removed by the operator from the tray 3. For this purpose, the clock 10 described above can be used. If, for example, the banknotes BN projecting beyond the aperture 2 by the predetermined length A are grasped by the operator, the clearance B allows the banknotes BN to be pulled out of the pocket 3 by the operator. In this case, the control device 11 recognizes by evaluating the clock signals of the clock 10 whether and in which direction the bank notes BN are moved by the operator. If the banknotes BN are removed from the compartment 3, the control device 11 can also determine the removal speed v A of the removal. For this purpose, the known construction data of the transport device 5, 6 are stored in the control device 11, in particular a diameter d of the shaft or roller of the transport system, with which the clock generator 10 is connected and the total number of clocks of the clock 10 around its entire circumference. The withdrawal rate v A of the removal of the banknotes BN by the operator when issuing or returning banknote BN is given by equation (2). v A = Recorded _ clocks π d total number _ clocks t
Figure imgb0002

In this case, detected clocks means the clocks emitted by the clock 10 and detected by the control device 11 during a predetermined time period t, during which the removal of the banknotes is monitored by pulling the operator.

As described above, after detecting the removal of the banknotes BN from the tray 3, the drive 12 is started by the controller 11 to assist the removal of the banknotes BN to be dispensed or returned by the operator. In this case, the control device 11 controls the drive 12 such that the transport speed of the banknotes BN by the transport system 5, 6 essentially corresponds to the determined removal rate v A of the removal of the banknotes BN by the operator.

Instead of the previously illustrated and described embodiment in which the banknotes are transported parallel to their long edges, of course, the transport of the banknotes is possible parallel to their short edges. In this case, of course, all components of the device 1 for the acceptance and / or issue or return of banknotes must be dimensioned accordingly.

It is also possible that instead of a stack of banknotes, individual banknotes can also be accepted and / or issued or returned with the device.

Furthermore, checks, vouchers or other value documents can be included in addition to banknotes to be accepted or paid out. These are processed with the banknotes together or separately and stored, for example, in a special cassette of the storage device of the banknote processing device connected to the device 1 for accepting or dispensing banknotes.

If there are disruptions in the separation of banknotes BN by means of the singulator 4, 4 ', the transport system 5, 6 can also be used to eliminate these disturbances. In particular, banknotes which are jammed in the gap of the singler 4, 4 'can be pulled out by means of the transport system 5, 6 if the jammed banknote still protrudes so far into the compartment 3 that it can be detected by the transport system 5, 6. The jammed banknote and any other banknotes still in the compartment 3 are then transported in the direction of the panel 2 and the jammed banknote is released during transport into the compartment 3 again. The other banknotes located in the compartment 3 can abut against the panel 2 during this process, whereby they are deformed. After liberation of the jammed banknote, the transport direction of the transport system 5, 6 is reversed and the other banknotes are transported back to their original position. Alternatively or additionally, the upper part 6 can also be moved away from the bank notes so that the deformed further bank notes move back into their original position due to the deformation.

Should serious disturbances occur, the upper part 6 and / or the above-mentioned separating element can be brought into their starting position so that the space of the compartment 3 is completely open and allows the operator or a service person access to the separator 4, 4 '. Likewise, the shutter 2 can be fully opened to make the entire space of the tray 3 more accessible.

In the above description, it has been assumed that a speed for the input and a speed for the removal of the bank notes are determined by the operator. Deviating but also only one of the two speeds can be determined. This may for example be the case when the device is intended only for the input or only for the issue of banknotes. In addition, however, it has been shown that most operators both type in banknotes of similar speed. For this reason, it may also be sufficient to determine only the speed for the input or only for the removal of the banknotes by the operator. It makes sense to determine the speed during the first operation by the operator. Thus, if banknotes are first entered, the input speed with which the operator inputs the banknotes is determined. Thereupon, the transport system is controlled in the acceptance of banknotes such that the banknotes are transported into the compartment at a transport speed which substantially corresponds to the determined input speed. In a subsequent issue or return of banknotes, the transport system is controlled such that the banknotes are transported at a transport speed from the subject, which also corresponds substantially to the previously determined input speed.
