Description

The invention relates to the structural design of a multi-pole electrical switching device.

Electrical switching devices, such as low-voltage circuit breakers in the form of so-called compact switch - known as MCCB's (Molded Case Circuit Breaker) - or in the form of so-called open circuit breaker - known as ACB's (for Air cicuit breaker), serve to interrupt single or multi-phase current paths of a main circuit , The interruption of the current paths takes place by mechanical opening single or double interrupting switching contacts. The switching contacts must be arranged electrically isolated.

This isolation must be carried out both against the installation environment and - in the case of multiphase electrical switchgear - between the individual phases of the main circuit. To achieve this, the parts of the electrical switching device, which are assigned to such a phase of the main circuit and form a switching pole, each mounted in a separate switch room, which is bounded by an insulating sheath. These - in particular made of plastic - insulating sheaths, which also include a wealth of their outer appearance distinctive rigid housing arrangements, at the same time prevent the unrestrained spread of gas and particle releases resulting from switching operations.

For example, in a known housing arrangement, these insulating sheaths consist essentially of a housing base part chambered according to the number of switching poles and an adequate housing upper part, which are usually joined together by screw connections.

With the use of rotary double contacts (contact bridges) established another known as "cassette construction" housing concept in which a switchable, double interrupting contact bridge together with two arc extinguishing chambers and possibly other required per switching pole components (slot motor, etc.) in a nearly closed, usually consisting of at least two half shells Schaltpolgehäuse (Einzelpolkassetten) are arranged. These prefabricated single-pole cassettes must now be combined to switchgear with each required number of poles. In this case, the modularity and thus, for example, the interchangeability of individual of the switching poles are to be maintained.

In addition, this combination of Schaltpolgehäuse (Einzelpolkassetten) to ensure maximum stability, because there are strong forces due to the surrounding the individual phases of the current path between the individual switching poles of electrical switching devices in switching operations (especially in shutdowns in the limit power range of the switching devices) arises the need to limit as far as possible a relative movement of the Einzelpolkassetten each other as a result of the forces acting.

From the German translation DE 602 11 028 T2 the European patent specification EP 1 464 063 B1 For example, a multi-pole electrical switching device in the form of a multi-pole low-voltage circuit breaker is known in which a plurality of separate switching pole housing are accommodated between side walls of the outer housing in a housing designated as cover. In this known multi-pole electrical switching device, each of the switching pole housing forms an insulating sheath of a switching room for receiving a single switching pole of the electrical switching device. In order to provide a safe connection of the switching pole housing with respect to the forces acting on the switching and thereby complicated assembly operations To avoid, the switching pole housings, which are each formed from two half-shells, insulating channels, which extend with respect to a dividing the half-shells dividing line across the switching pole housing. The connection of the separate switching pole housing of the switching poles takes place via clamping and cross-connecting elements which extend through the insulating channels.

A structurally different electrical switching device is known from the US patent US 4,218,596 known.

Starting from a multi-pole electrical switching device with a surrounding housing in which at least two separate switching pole housings are accommodated which each form an insulating enclosure of a switching space for receiving a single switching pole, in which the at least two separate switching pole housings each have at least one receptacle on walls facing each other, forming a receiving pair, wherein for the mechanical connection of the at least two separate switching pole housing the receiving pair is associated with a connecting means which engages in the two receptacles forming the pair of receptacles (German translation DE 602 11 028 T2 the European Patent EP 1 464 063 B1 ), The invention is also based on the object to provide a safe with respect to the forces acting when switching the Schaltpolgehäuse connection and thereby avoid complicated assembly operations.

This object is achieved by an electrical switching device with the features according to claim 1.

In the multi-pole electrical switch according to the invention, therefore, the adjacent switching pole housing after mounting by the undercuts of the recordings engaging behind Connecting means across the dividing joint firmly connected.

In this case, the joining of the separate switching pole housing takes place in a manner which is easy to handle in terms of assembly technology, in which at the same time components are saved. On the one hand, the assembly operations are simplified in that, starting from a front side of the electrical switching device, the mounting takes place parallel to the mutually facing walls of the switching pole housing in a preferred mounting direction. On the other hand, the connecting means are integrated by introducing a corresponding contour in a tool used for the production of the Umgehäuses with the production of the Umgehäuses directly into this enclosure. It therefore eliminates in particular the need to keep separate fastener sets with connecting means of different lengths for different numbers of the switching pole housing to be connected ready, as in the case of the DE 602 11 028 T2 known switch is the case.

In a preferred embodiment, it is provided in the electrical switching device according to the invention that the surrounding housing forms at least one first stop extending transversely to the dividing joint - but preferably additionally also a second stop extending transversely to the dividing joint - for the receiving pair. In such an embodiment, the receiving pair and thus the switching pole housing, which form the receptacle pair, namely firmly fixed after assembly of the switching device in the preferred mounting direction between the two stops in the surrounding housing.

Each of the three switching pole housing 10 consists of two half-shells 26, 27 and forms an insulating sheath of one of the switching chambers 11 (see. FIG. 1 ), in each of which one of the three switching poles is arranged.

In each case two adjacent of the three separate switching pole housing 10 are mechanically connected by means of two of the connecting means 25. For this purpose, the separate switching pole housing 10 on its mutually facing walls laterally projecting hook-like projections 28a, 28b, 29a, 29b, 30a, 30b, 31a 31b. Two each of the hook-like projections 28a, 28b; 29a, 29b; 30a, 30b and 31a, 31b form a receptacle 28; 29; 30; 31, each forming an undercut with respect to a dividing joint 32 formed between the two facing walls. The receptacles 28 and 29 and 30 and 31 adjacent the switching pole housing 10 are opposite each other as receiving pairs. For the mechanical connection of the separate switching pole housing 10, each receiving pair is associated with an integrally formed as a contour element in a primary molding process at the bottom of the surrounding housing connecting means 33. The connecting means 33 engages behind the undercuts of the receptacles 28 and 29 or 30 and 31 of the associated receiving pair.

The connecting means 33 in this case have a cross section which is shaped in the manner of a double dovetail. They extend in a pin-like manner in the region of the dividing lines 32 parallel to the dividing joints 32. Accordingly, each of the receptacles each forms a corresponding groove with a dovetail-shaped cross-sectional shape extending parallel to the dividing joints 32.

To ensure that the switching pole housing 10 are firmly fixed in the housing housing in the preferred mounting direction in the housing after mounting the switching device, forms the bottom formed first part 21 of the housing for each of the receiving pairs each one transverse to the dividing lines 32 extending first stop 34; 35 (cf. FIGS. 3 to 5 ) and formed as an intermediate cover second part 22 of the surrounding housing forms for each of the receiving pairs each have a transverse to the dividing lines 32 extending second stop 36; 37 (cf. FIG. 2 ). The stops are designed such that the receptacles (28, 29, 30, 31) of the receiving pairs with their transverse to the dividing joint end faces after assembly between their associated first (34, 35) and second (36, 37) Stops are held stationary to the housing.

In the electrical switching device according to the invention, the connecting means 25 are not made of separate items, but they are integrated into the already existing components of the electrical switching device. The assembly of the multi-pole electrical switching device according to the invention can be carried out in a preferred mounting direction. A cross connection through the switching rooms is not required and the associated insulation problems eliminated.
