Description

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for packaging products, in particular food products, such as biscuits or the like.

When packaging products and placing products in trays, it is necessary to treat the products gently so that they can be inserted undamaged. Furthermore, it is necessary to precisely fill the trays, which are in the form of open trays, possibly with individual, subdivided compartments, in order to avoid underfilling or overfilling.

In the prior art, it is known to insert sensitive products by hand into the trays. This procedure is slow and costly.

The DE 199 30 368 A1 shows a method and an apparatus for packaging flat products, which are conveyed horizontally via a conveyor belt. At the end of the conveyor belt a tray is arranged, which is aligned vertically or at a slight angle to the horizontal in order to insert the products delivered by the conveyor belt standing or lying in the individual compartments of the tray. The tray is moved back and forth in the conveying direction for loading. In this approach, it is disadvantageous that the products are not placed in a guided assignment, but fall down from the conveyor belt, which may result in misorientation of the products as well as underfilling or overfilling the subjects of the tray.

From the DE 298 02 949 U1 It is known to grab individual products by means of a suction head and insert individually in a folding package. This procedure is only suitable for products that are tangible by means of the suction head and is also characterized by low cycle times.

From the GB 2 124 197 A a device for refilling and supplementing stacks of flat baked products is known. The products are loaded in batches in a conveyor belt. The patent application describes a refill station, in which it is first checked whether the stacks are complete. If this is not the case, then a suitable number of one or more baked products is placed on the stack of the conveyor belt from a supply stack by means of a slide. For this purpose, a slider is provided which moves the upright standing products from an inclined plane on the conveyor belt.

The EP 0 324 971 A1 shows the insertion of products that are deposited by a conveyor belt successively placed in containers.

The invention has for its object to provide a method and apparatus for packaging products, which with a simple structure and Fully automatic operation for packaging a wide variety of products in trays with short cycle times and reliable operation are suitable.

According to the invention the object is achieved by the combination of features of the independent claims, the respective subclaims show further advantageous embodiments of the invention.

The invention thus provides that products are conveyed in a continuous product stream. The products are subsequently stacked, stacking on an inclined or inclined plane so that it is possible to form product stacks with the products standing on a side surface.

Below the product stream and the conveying device for conveying the products, in each case at least one upwardly open tray is arranged, which is oriented to match the products. According to the invention, an active insertion of a product from the product stream by means of a slide element takes place cyclically. The products are thus stacked in the product stack, so that a slightly discontinuous feeding of the products can be compensated by the product stream.

By using a slider element, it is possible to actively insert and portion the products. It is according to the invention in a preferred embodiment also possible to control the products each time again individually.

According to the invention it is thus possible to perform a targeted insertion of the individual products in the respective tray.

According to the invention, the tray moves stepwise along the product stack, so that the individual products are either standing parallel to each other or scaled inserted into the tray.

The procedure according to the invention makes it possible to carry out the insertion of the products into the trays automatically. This will be manual work largely unnecessary. This results in a significant reduction in personnel costs. Furthermore, it is possible to increase the hygiene standard. Depending on the dimensioning and design of the individual products, very high cycle times result according to the invention, which can not be achieved in the case of manual loading or partial manual packaging.

According to the invention, the individual trays are fed from a magazine by means of a tray feeding device. This can be arranged to save space under the product flow or the conveying device for the products. However, it is also possible to automatically feed the trays from elsewhere.

Another, significant advantage of the solution according to the invention is that the device is designed so that at any time a control and manual intervention are possible to weed out faulty products or incorrectly filled trays.

By virtue of the possibility, provided according to the invention in a preferred embodiment, of pushing the product out of the product stack by means of a slide element, the possibility of active separation and active insertion of the products is created. Furthermore, the inventive design allows adaptation to different product dimensions or product shapes by replacing the slider element and slight adjustment of the device.

The supplied products are thus intermediately stored on the inclined plane in a product stack. The respective foremost / lowest product is held by the weight of the product stack or by another non-positive or positive locking device in the Ausschiebeposition, so that the product can be pushed out by means of the slide member and stored in the tray. This pushing out takes place without the risk of damaging the product, as is clear from the following description in detail.

According to the invention, it is possible to package both round and square, but also non-uniform shaped products.

Due to the automation provided according to the invention, high product numbers from the current product stream can be separated and packaged, for example 300 products per minute.

It is understood that according to the invention several packaging operations can be performed side by side at the same time, if in the product flow juxtaposed rows of products are conveyed and if the Trayzuführvorrichtung several juxtaposed rows of trays provides. According to the invention, one or more product streams can thus be processed side by side in parallel. The products can be stored by one or more slider elements in the respective compartments of the trays, wherein the individual slide elements are movable together by means of a single drive or by means of individual drives.

The inventively provided formation of a product stack by placing the products of a continuous product flow, in which the products are conveyed lying, in a stacking position in which the products on a side surface or laterally and form a stack, it is possible a standing or to allow tilted placement of the products in the trays. Such tray loading gives the consumer a favorable positioning of the products, which he can conveniently and easily grasp and remove.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the slide element approaches the product and bears against it. The slider element is then accelerated along with the product. As a result, an impact of the slider element is prevented on the surface of the product, whereby damage to the product can be avoided. For this purpose, the slide element is preferably actuated by means of a servo drive.

The Fig. 1 shows an inclined plane 3, which is inclined for example at an angle of 45 °. On this inclined plane, which may be formed, for example, in the form of a slide plate, a product stream 2 is charged to form a product stack 5. The product stack 5 serves both for buffering a not quite continuous supply of products 1, as well as a buffer when changing from one tray 4 to the next tray.

The trays 4 are in the form of open shells, which may be additionally divided in their interior to receive the products 1 standing or scaled.

The individual trays 4 are fed by means of a Trayzuführvorrichtung 9, which in Fig. 1 only shown schematically, supplies. The Trayzuführvorrichtung 9 may for example comprise a tact band.

From the representation of Fig. 1 shows that both the inclined orientation of the inclined plane 3 and the Trayzuführvorrichtung 9 are provided parallel to each other, so that the products 1 can be inserted directly and without further change in position in the respective tray 4.

The product stack 5 bears against a contact element 11, which thus supports the product stack 5. Before the contact element 11, a slide element 6 is arranged, by means of which it is possible, in each case a product 1 in the tray 4th appeal. The tray 4 is subsequently moved by a product thickness, for example a biscuit starch, by means of the tray feed device 9.

The Fig. 2 to 4 show in perspective, simplified representation of an embodiment of a device according to the invention.

According to the invention, a plurality of mutually arranged webs of products 1 are provided in order to continuously convey the products 1 by means of a conveying device 7. This results in a schematic in Fig. 3 shown product flow 2. The products are guided on an inclined plane 3 and thereby tilted or placed so that the in Fig. 1 shown product stack 5 results. In the in the Fig. 2 to 4 shown device several such product stack 5 are provided side by side. The products 1 are thus fed to a deflection and stacking device 8, in which the products, as in Fig. 1 shown to be stacked.

The Fig. 2 and 3 also show individual slide elements 6, which are each operable by means of a separate servo drive 10, so that there is a approach to the product, stopping when in contact with the product and subsequent acceleration for pushing the product into the tray.

The Fig. 5 shows in detail the path of movement of the slider element 6. The slider element is brought to the product 1 so that it impinges on the edge at a very low speed or is applied to the edge of the product without relative speed. The Fig. 5 now shows the movement sequences of product removal by means of the slider element. The slider element is accelerated in an acceleration phase. Since the slide element 6 rests against the product 1, the product 1 is likewise accelerated analogously to this. The acceleration takes place up to a maximum speed and then enters a braking phase. There is thus an accelerated movement of the product 1 and a subsequent harmonic transition to a deceleration phase to gently deposit the product into the tray. Upon reaching the end position of the slider element, this separates from the product 1 and is moved back to its initial position with maximum return stroke. This movement is in Fig. 5 shown. From the starting position, the slider element 6 then turns on approximated the next product 1 so that the in Fig. 5 shown sequence of movements can be done again.

The servo drive 10 of the respective slide member may be formed pneumatically, but it is also possible to use a servo motor, preferably a linear motor. It may also be favorable to provide one or more cams. According to the invention it is thus possible to realize very high cycle rates and at the same time to achieve maximum protection of the product in order to avoid damage.

Furthermore, the figures show a Trayzuführvorrichtung 9, which is arranged below the conveying device 7 for the products 1 and comprises a timing belt, which may be arranged parallel or inclined to the inclined plane 3. The Fig. 2 shows a non-parallel arrangement, while the Fig. 3 and 4 each show a substantially parallel orientation.

Once the tray is positioned below the product stack 5, as shown in FIG Fig. 1 is shown, the slider element 6 starts with the product separation and pushes the first product 1 in the tray 4 a. If this process is completed, and the slider element 6 has been withdrawn, the product stack 5 automatically slips by the thickness of a product 1 on the inclined plane 3 in the direction of the contact element 11. At the same time, the tray 4 clocks by a product width by means of the Trayzuführvorrichtung before, so that the Abschiebevorgang repeated by means of the slider element 6. This cycle ends as soon as the tray 4 is filled with the nominal filling quantity with products 1. Seamless start the filling of the next tray 4, so that time losses are avoided and according to the invention high cycle times can be realized.

The filled tray is subsequently removed via a Trayablauf 12 and packaged further.

According to the invention thus results in a compact design of the device, which allows good accessibility and easy cleaning. In particular, by the good accessibility of the deflection and stacking device 8 and the slide elements. 6 can realize short set-up times. Despite the high cycle rates, it is possible to intervene manually in the product flow and correct errors if necessary.
