Description
- The object of the present invention is a device of flattened shape for return actioning a handle.
- Devices for return actioning a handle are well known, in particular a handle which actions a lock of the "latch" type, wherein a pawl is actuated by rotating the handle itself.
- When the user releases the handle the latter is returned to the original position by return means (a spring or other functionally equivalent means) present in the lock, returning the pawl and the other parts of the lock which connect the pawl to the handle into the rest condition.
- The return means positioned in the lock are not always able to operate correctly, especially if the handle is very large and/or heavy (for example because it is made in brass, zamak, etc.) and/or has a particular shape or if the lock at rest does not maintain the handle in the correct position (for example due to errors of manufacture and/or of design): to avoid this drawback it is common practice to apply to the exterior of the door (or of the lock) a washer in whose interior an additional return spring is placed, and positioning elements.
- This washer, projecting with respect to the plane of the door, is a valid solution (from the functional viewpoint) to the problem of returning and maintaining the handle in a horizontal position, but this is not always popular with the public and/or interior designers who would prefer to limit (essentially for aesthetic reasons) the overall dimensions of bodies which project with respect to the plane of the door.
- The object of the present invention is to make a device for return actioning a handle which, in order to meet the demands of the public, has a flattened shape so as to reduce the projection from the plane of the door and house at the same time a return spring and positioning elements for the handle,
- This object is achieved by means of a device for return actioning a handle which has the features listed in
claim 1. - Further advantageous features of the invention form the object of the dependent claims.
- Substantially, a device of flattened shape for return actioning a handle made according to the invention consists at least of
- a hollow body, comprising a cylindrical tang to be inserted in a recess, formed across the depth of the door, and an annular rim, perpendicular to the hollow body, which abuts against the door;
- a driving disk, placed inside the cylindrical tang and having a hole suitable for housing the pin with square section which connects one to the other two handles placed at opposite sides of the door;
- a cylindrical spring wound axially, placed inside the cylindrical tang between the inner wall of the tang and the outer wall of the driving disk, which acts on the driving disk to return action the handle;
- means suitable for fastening the hollow body to the door.
- The use of a cylindrical spring wound axially, which has a diameter smaller than that of springs with coils wound radially normally used, allows the device to be housed in a recess formed in the door, leaving space for the fastening elements (screws) without having to increase the diameter of the annular rim of the hollow body.
- Preferably the device comprises also a metal covering element or washer, snap fastened to the annular rim of the hollow body to hide the device.
- The invention will now be described with reference to preferred embodiments purely by way of an example (and therefore non-limiting) illustrated in the accompanying drawings, where:
