Description

The present invention relates to the general field of cycling; it relates more particularly to a footwear for the practice of cycling.

Cycling encompasses a set of sporting variants, which in practice are very different from each other.

This variety corresponds in particular to the different soils on which the cyclist can circulate: for example, a soil which can be uneven (path, path ...) for the practice of the mountain bike (known as "VTT"), or a road in the case of cycle tourism.

L'équipement utilisé par le cycliste est généralement adapté au type de sol sur lequel il va évoluer, et à l'équipement nécessaire à sa pratique (pédale).The equipment used by the cyclist is generally adapted to the type of soil on which it will evolve, and the equipment necessary for its practice (pedal).

This is particularly the case of the shoes he uses, the soles of which must include parts likely to come into contact with the ground to allow walking with optimum comfort and safety.
Thus, in particular, for the practice of mountain biking, the contact parts with the floor of the sole are advantageously equipped with crampons, facilitating walking and grip on uneven ground; on the other hand, for the practice of cycle tourism, the ground contacting parts are advantageously provided with contact surfaces of the continuous or substantially continuous type (that is to say still without any particular projections or projections), in order to facilitate the contact with the ground. walk on a flat floor.

However, this specialization of equipment now forces athletes to equip themselves with several pairs of shoes, each adapted to a particular practice of cycling. This also causes some disadvantages for the manufacturers, who must produce and store a plurality of different versions of shoes to meet the needs of cyclists.

US 2005/0210712 unveils a bicycle touring shoe with several removable side bands.

To remedy these drawbacks, the applicant has developed a new footwear for cycling, which can be adapted very simply to mountain biking or cycling.
This footwear is particularly innovative because of its great versatility: cycling and mountain biking are in practice very different activities and distant from each other.

Thus, the footwear according to the invention comprises the features of claim 1. Its ground contact parts are constituted by accessory parts attached under each sole by means of removable fastening means, said accessory parts forming respectively a front pad, a heel and side strips which extend around means of wedging and / or anchoring on a pedal.
This equipment also comprises at least two interchangeable batches of said accessory parts, which are adaptable on said sole:
  • the accessory parts of one of the said lots comprising crampons, to constitute cycling shoes adapted to the practice of mountain biking and to facilitate walking on uneven ground, and
  • the accessory parts of the other said batches having a contact surface of continuous or at least substantially continuous type, to constitute cycling shoes adapted to the practice of cycling and to facilitate walking on flat ground.
The accessory parts in question, once reported on the soles, have a height greater than that of said wedging means and / or anchoring, to avoid or at least limit the contact of the latter with the ground.

  • les pièces accessoires constituant le patin avant et le talon de chaque lot sont en forme générale de U ou de V, et elles se composent avantageusement chacune d'une partie centrale transversale prolongée par deux ailes latérales en regard l'une de l'autre, lesdites ailes étant destinées à être orientées vers le milieu de la semelle associée ; de plus la partie centrale du talon comporte avantageusement une aile centrale supplémentaire, s'étendant entre ses deux ailes latérales ; de préférence encore les trois ailes de la pièce formant le talon du lot « vélo tout-terrain », comportent chacune un crampon, le crampon de l'aile centrale présentant une surface d'appui au sol en forme générale de dents de scie ;
  • la semelle comporte avantageusement, au niveau de sa face inférieure, des empreintes en creux dont le contour correspond, au jeu près, au contour des pièces accessoires, des orifices filetés étant ménagés au sein desdites empreintes, et lesdites pièces accessoires étant pourvues d'orifices traversants pour la mise en place de vis de fixation aptes à coopérer avec lesdits orifices filetés respectifs ; dans le cas d'un patin avant et d'un talon en forme générale de U ou de V, lesdites pièces accessoires sont avantageusement chacune pourvues d'au moins un orifice traversant au sein de leur partie transversale et de chacune de leurs ailes latérales ;
  • la pièce formant patin avant du lot « vélo tout-terrain » et son empreinte de réception, sont avantageusement pourvues d'orifices aptes à recevoir des pointes formant des crampons complémentaires pour améliorer l'accroche au sol ;
Additional structural features of the equipment according to the invention, which can be taken in combination or independently of one another, are presented below:
  • the accessory parts constituting the front shoe and the heel of each batch are in the general shape of U or V, and they advantageously consist each of a transverse central portion extended by two lateral wings facing one another, said wings being intended to be oriented towards the middle of the associated sole; in addition the central portion of the heel advantageously comprises an additional central wing, extending between its two lateral wings; preferably still the three wings of the piece forming the heel of the lot "mountain bike", each comprise a crampon, the crampon of the central wing having a ground bearing surface generally sawtooth form;
  • the sole advantageously comprises, at its lower face, indentations whose contour corresponds, with the game, to the contour of the accessory parts, threaded holes being formed in said indentations, and said accessory parts being provided with orifices through holes for the establishment of fixing screws adapted to cooperate with said respective threaded holes; in the case of a front shoe and a generally U-shaped or V-shaped heel, said accessory pieces are advantageously each provided with at least one through hole within their transverse portion and each of their lateral wings;
  • the piece forming the front pad of the "off-road bike" package and its receiving footprint, are advantageously provided with orifices capable of receiving spikes forming complementary spikes to improve grip on the ground;
  • the accessory parts of the "cycle touring" package are advantageously provided with a plurality of grooves, to improve the adhesion to the ground.

  • la figure 1 est une vue de dessous de la semelle de l'une des chaussures de cyclisme composant l'équipement chaussant conforme à l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 montre un lot de pièces accessoires destiné à être rapportées sur la semelle de la figure 1 pour constituer une chaussure de cyclisme adaptée à la pratique du cyclotourisme ;
  • la figure 3 montre un autre lot de pièces accessoires destiné à être rapportées sur la semelle représentée sur la figure 1, pour constituer une chaussure de cyclisme adaptée à la pratique du vélo tout-terrain (VTT) ;
  • les figures 4 et 5 montrent, respectivement vue de face et de côté, la semelle représentée sur la figure 1 équipée du lot de pièces accessoires « cyclotourisme » (conforme à la figure 2) ;
The invention will be further illustrated, without being limited in any way, by the following description of a particular embodiment of footwear, given solely by way of example, and shown in the accompanying drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is a bottom view of the sole of one of the cycling shoes comprising the footwear according to the invention;
  • the figure 2 shows a lot of accessory parts to be reported on the sole of the figure 1 to constitute a cycling shoe adapted to the practice of cycling tourism;
  • the figure 3 shows another batch of accessory parts to be reported on the sole shown on the figure 1 , to constitute a cycling shoe adapted to the practice of mountain biking;
  • the Figures 4 and 5 show, respectively front and side view, the sole shown on the figure 1 equipped with the "bicycle touring" accessory parts package (in accordance with the figure 2 );
  • the Figures 6 and 7 still show, front and side respectively, the sole shown on the figure 1 fitted with the "ATV" accessory parts package (compliant with the figure 3 ).

As illustrated in the figures, the footwear for the practice of cycling, according to the invention, comprises - a pair of cycling shoes (the sole of one of these shoes being represented on the figure 1 ), and - two lots of accessories (represented respectively on the Figures 2 and 3 ) which are intended to be interchangeably added under the sole of these shoes, to form their surfaces of contact with the ground and to constitute shoes adapted to the practice of the bicycle touring or the VTT.

The sole 1, shown on the figure 1 , is a classic contour sole, intended to be associated with a superior shoe (not shown) to constitute a complete cycling shoe.

This sole 1 comprises, at its lower face 2, means 3 adapted to ensure its setting and / or anchoring on a bicycle pedal. These means, quite conventional, are here only partially represented; they consist for example of a metal plate sliding inside the sole, and a metal wedge to be fixed on said metal plate and longitudinally adjustable, which wedge is mechanically snapped into the pedal (the wedge is usually supplied with the pedal).

The lower surface 2 of the sole 1 is provided by four indentations 4 a, 4 b, 4 c and 4 d, which are intended to receive, at choice, lots of accessory parts "cycling" / "ATV" Interchangeable .
As an indication, these fingerprints 4 have a depth of the order of 0.5 to 1.5 mm.

In particular, the sole 1 comprises:
  • a front impression 4 a , intended to receive an accessory piece forming the front pad of one of the lots of accessory pieces,
  • a rear impression 4b , intended to receive an accessory piece forming the heel of the same batch, and
  • two lateral elongated indentations 4 c and 4 d, which extends over a portion of the length of the sole 1 between the indentations before 4a and back 4b of both sides of the wedging means / anchorage 3 for receiving the accessory parts forming the sidebands still of the same batch.

Fingerprints front 4a and back 4b are generally U-shaped or V-shaped. They each comprise a transverse central portion 4 to 1, 4 b 1, extended by two lateral wings 4 to 2, 4 b 2 facing one another; these wings 4 to 2, 4 b 2 are oriented towards the middle of the sole 1.
Can still be seen that the rear cavity 4 b comprises an additional central flange 4 b 3, extending between its two side flanges 4 b 2, shorter than the latter.

These fingerprints 4 are each provided with threaded orifices 5, for the removable positioning of the accessory parts by means of suitable fixing screws (not shown). In particular, the front impressions 4 a and rear 4 b are each equipped with a threaded orifice 5 at their respective transverse portion 4 to 1, 4 b 1, and within each of their respective lateral wings 4 to 2, 4 b 2.

The accessory parts 10, 11 of the two interchangeable batches, participating in the great versatility of the sole 1 and intended to form the parts of contact with the ground of the final shoe, are shown in detail on the Figures 2 and 3 .

For each sole 1, these two interchangeable batches each comprise a set of four accessory pieces 10, 11: a front pad (10 a , 11 a ), a heel (10 b , 11 b ) and two lateral strips (10 c , 10 c) . d or 11c , 11d).

These accessory parts 10, 11 are made of a polyurethane material.

The outline of the accessory parts 10, 11 corresponds, with the game, to that of the associated fingerprints 4.

Thus, the front shoe 10, 11a and heel 10 b, 11b of the two lots "ATV and" touring "each have a generally U-shaped or V-shaped.
They each consist of a transverse portion 10 to 1, 11 to 1, 10 b 1, 11 b 1 extended by two lateral wings 10 to 2, 10 b 2, 11 to 2, 11 b 2, extending facing one from the other.
The heel parts 10b , 11b are still provided with an additional central wing 10b 3, 11b 3 of generally triangular shape, extending between the two lateral wings 10b 2, 11b 2.

The side strips 10c , 10d or 11c , 11d are each in the form of an elongate piece.

The accessory parts 10, 11 of the two lots are distinguished by the structure and shape of their bearing surface on the ground.

In this case, the accessory parts 10 for the practice of cycle tourism ( figure 2 ) have a continuous or substantially continuous contact surface with the ground, without projections or significant projecting members (as can be seen in particular on the figure 5 ).
As shown on the figure 5 these parts 10 here have a ground support surface which is flat or slightly curved, to take account of the unwinding of the foot when walking on the ground and permanently obtain an optimal surface of support on the ground.
These accessory parts 10 are at most provided with grooves 13 to facilitate adhesion on the road and on the bearing surface of the pedal.

The accessory parts 11 of the lot for mountain biking ( figure 3 ) are provided with a bearing surface on the ground formed by a set of crampons 14 (as can be seen in particular on the figure 7 ).
In this context, we note in particular that the accessory piece 11b forming the heel has a crampon at each of its wings 11b 2 and 11b 3; the crampon 14 of the central flange 11b 3 has in particular a floor support surface in the general form of sawtooths to optimize the attachment to the ground and facilitate the evacuation of mud or pebbles.

In addition, these accessory parts 10, 11 are provided with a set of non-threaded through orifices 15, through which the screws (not shown) that engage with the threaded orifices 5 formed in the indentations 4 are inserted, for their fixation under the sole.
For this, the front shoe 10, 11a and the rear heel 10 b, 11 b are each provided with a through hole 15 at their respective transverse portion 10 a 1, 11 a 1, 10 b 1, 11 b 1, and within each of their respective lateral wings 10 to 2, 11 to 2, 10 b 2, 11 b 2.

It is noted that the pad 11 has the batch for mountain biking yet is provided with two non-threaded holes 16 at its transverse portion 11 is 1 (on either side of its opening 15) for the passage or spikes additional studs, screwed into the aforementioned threaded holes 6 of the sole, to improve adhesion on uneven ground.

Once reported on the sole 1, the accessory parts 10, 11 have a height greater than that of the means for wedging / anchoring the sole so as to prevent them from coming into contact with the ground when walking.

In practice, depending on the terrain on which it will evolve, the cyclist fixes under the sole 1, by means of suitable fixing screws, each of the accessory parts 10, 11 of the batch chosen within their respective fingerprints 4. The fastening screw / fingerprint combination ensures a particularly simple and effective maintenance of the attached accessory parts.

The user thus obtains either a shoe adapted to the practice of cycling, with a sole such as shown on the Figures 4 and 5 , or a shoe adapted to the practice of mountain biking, with a sole such as represented on the Figures 6 and 7 . These shoes then comprise several portions of contact with the ground, that is to say at least - a pad 10, 11a at its front part, - a heel 10 b, 11b at the rear and - two lateral strips 10 c, 10 d, 11 c, 11 d extending over a portion of the length of the sole 1, between said front shoe 10, 11a and said heel 10 b, 11 b, on both other means 3 for wedging and / or anchoring on the pedal.

Of course, if necessary, the user can at will remove the set of accessory parts attached to the soles (by removing the fixing screws), to replace it with the other batch of parts.

The footwear obtained has the advantage of being particularly versatile, allowing both cycling and mountain biking.
