Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine automatische Kupplung (1) für Schienenfahrzeuge mit Seitenpuffern (7, 8) zur Aufnahme der Druckkräfte, wobei jede Kupplungshälfte mit einem Kupplungskopf (4) und einer Zugeinrichtung (5) zur Übertragung der Zugkräfte auf den Fahrzeugkasten versehen ist. Zwischen dem Kupplungskopf (4) und der Zugeinrichtung (5) ist eine Freihubvorrichtung (6) mit einem axial verschiebbaren Pneumatikzylinder (14) eingebaut, der stirnseitig am Kupplungskopf (4) befestigt ist und dessen Kolben (15) mit der Zugstange (10) der Zugeinrichtung (5) verbunden ist, wobei der Kuppelvorgang durch Belüften des Zylinders (14) vollzogen wird, während durch Entlüften des Zylinders ein kraftloser Freihub der Kupplung erzeugt wird, der im Betrieb stellt, dass keine Druckkräfte über die Zugkupplung in das Fahrzeug eingeleitet wird, der beim Kuppelvorgang in Kurven den Puffereffekt aufhebt und zudem den Betrieb der Kupplung als reine Zugkupplung sicherstellt.
