The box includes a guide means for guiding the strip of paper, the guide means being formed of two wall elements forming a narrow space through which the strip of paper is guided and held in contact with as far as the dispensing slot, the narrow space being formed by folding a panel of the box about a fold line in which the dispensing slot is formed.

Description

La présente invention concerne le domaine des papiers à usage sanitaire ou domestiqueThe present invention relates to the field of papers for sanitary or domestic use

Papers intended for this purpose come in several forms:
  • A continuous strip precut so as to form a succession of individual coupons held by tenons which yield easily to traction,
  • A continuous band without precut which is torn to the desired length,
  • The tape can be wound on itself or on a mandrel so as to form a roll,
  • The band can be folded accordion each panel forming a coupon.

In individual coupons stacked on top of each other and forming a stack.

The present invention relates to continuous strip products and pre-cut coupons attached to each other by tenons.

To make these products practical for use and also to maintain hygiene, they are packaged in an envelope that can be rigid with a sheet-fed dispensing opening.

The problem is to effectively provide these two functions. It is desired by pulling on the first available sheet through the opening to release one sheet at a time and not to pull off the entire strip of paper. For this it is necessary that the tenons linking the first sheet to the next give priority. It must not be necessary to use both hands to separate the leaves. On the one hand it is not practical, on the other hand the paper not extracted from the envelope should not be touched, it would not be hygienic. There is the possibility of providing a cutting means at the edge of the opening but it is not safe to cut the band at the tenons. The cut is not clear.

Many achievements already exist that aim to improve the distribution of products.

In the field of wet wipes, the patent US5,542,567 describes a dispenser box provided with a lid. This box is made of rigid material and made by molding from a plastic material.

The cover has a guide slot which may be provided in a raised molded portion including a depression for gripping the wet wipe.

This dispensing system is designed for wet wipes in pre-cut and zig-zag folded sheets. A plug is provided on the slot so that the exposed portion of the extracted wipe remains wet. But this embodiment in a rigid plastic material is not environmentally satisfactory and remains remote from the present invention.

For example, the solution described in the patent application is known. WO 0141613 . The system for dispensing products from a web of perforated material comprises a dispensing slot whose edges are close to the thickness of the sheet so as not to brake it. The sheets are retained to each other by tenons extending over one third of the width of the strip, the other two thirds being cut. In this way are formed flaps able to swing on both sides of the plane of the band. When pulling the paper web through the slit the flaps are folded against the plane of the web. The band is braked when this double thickness part is engaged in the slot. This is sufficiently narrow in thickness to hinder the passage of two thicknesses of sheet. The tensile forces then cause the rupture of the strip at the line of tenons. According to one of the embodiments shown in Figure 2C, the dispensing opening is circular, the passage resistance being produced by the folds formed in the direction of traction at the time of passage through the opening. This effective solution as regards the separation of the sheets at the passage of the dispensing opening does not allow to retain the free end of the band in the opening. She will tend to fall back into the box. Another solution of providing a wider opening in the center for the passage of the fingers is not satisfactory.

The applicant has set itself the objective of achieving a satisfactory distribution system for environmentally conscious consumers, which is both effective for the separation of leaves at the passage of the distribution opening and which allows the presentation the free edge of the band remaining in the box for the extraction of the next coupon.

This objective is achieved with a coupon dispensing system of a strip of paper, such as for sanitary or domestic use, contained in a box, made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard and dispenser of individual coupons through a distribution slot, the paper web consisting of coupons held together by tenons, characterized by the fact that:
  • the distribution slit is of width less than the width of the strip,
  • the box comprises a means for guiding the strip formed of two wall elements forming a narrow space in which the strip is guided and held in contact with the distribution slot, and formed by folding a panel around a folding line in which is provided said distribution slot.

According to alternative embodiments of the invention:
  • The tenons between two coupons are arranged on a first portion and a second portion of the width of the strip so that the tensile strength is lower on the second part than on the first part thus forming on said second part a initiation of separation of the coupons.
  • The tenons have on said first part a first space between two adjacent tenons and on said second part a second space between two adjacent tenons; the two spaces being different from each other. Preferably the tenons are all the same width.

The second space is equal to the width of the second part.

Ladite première partie s'étend depuis un bord de la bande,Said first portion extends from one edge of the strip,

Ladite première partie s'étend entre un quart et trois quarts de la largeur de la bande,Said first portion extends between one quarter and three quarters of the width of the strip,

Said first portion extends over a central portion of the strip, leaving on each side, two second portions forming separation primer.

The invention applies to a strip roll or folded accordion.

More particularly, the two wall elements are arranged to guide the strip to be distributed in coupons over at least 10% of the length of a coupon.

The invention relates to paper products which are in the form of rolls 1, figure 1 either in the form of a band 3 folded zigzag or accordion. The invention is particularly, but not exclusively, for sanitary or domestic papers: toilet paper, paper towels, handkerchiefs, towels, etc. For these uses the paper is cellulose wadding, which is a paper absorbent and light weight, one or more folds superimposed. The folds can be linked together or not. Similarly they can be embossed or not to possibly give them flexibility and volume. The band is precut in the direction of its length at regular intervals in successive coupons, generally all of the same size. The precut by means of a blade, forming a knife, toothed, extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the strip, from one edge to the other. The pre-cut line is generally rectilinear and comprises alternately tenons and generally rectangular cutouts. The width of the tenons and cutouts may vary. The tenons are strong enough that moderate traction on a coupon does not tear them.

The figure 3 shows a first form of cutting according to the invention.

The two coupons 2a and 2b are held by tenons T on a first portion P1 of the dividing line of the two coupons 2a and 2b. This first portion extends to the center of the line over a distance here equal to substantially half the width of the strip. On either side of this first part the separation line is cut forming the two second parts P2 and P'2. Each second part extends from one edge of the paper web.

More generally, a part P1 and a part P2 and / or P'2 are distinguished, the tenons of which are arranged in such a way that the tensile strength is lower on the second part than on the first part thus forming on the said second part. initiation of separation of the coupons.

For example, the difference in tensile strength can be obtained by the spacing between the tenons, the tenons being for example all the same width. Thus, the tenons being spaced from each other, there is a first space E1 between two adjacent tenons and a second space E2 between two adjacent tenons. The two spaces are different between the first part P1 and the second part P2 and / or P'2.

These spaces E1 and E2 are arranged according to the tensile strength to be obtained.

Dans le cas de l'exemple de la figure 3, l'espace E2 correspond à la découpe des parties P2 et P'2.In the case of the example of the figure 3 , the space E2 corresponds to the cutting of the parts P2 and P'2.

The figure 4 shows a variant with a cut P20 on one side of the first part P10 formed of tenons T.

More generally the difference in tensile strength can be obtained by the spacing between the tenons and / or the width of the tenons.

La largeur des panneaux 11 et 12 est la même que celle de la bande 1The box 10 of the dispensing system of the invention, represented on the figure 5 is here cubic form with a distribution system on one side that can be on the top. This comprises two panels 11 and 12 arranged one against the other and standing with respect to an upper face 10s of the box. The space between the two panels is open on one side 111 on the inside of the box. The opposite edge 112 is open on a central portion 112a only. On either side of this opening 112a the panels meet in a closed edge 112b 112c. The width of the panels 11 and 12 is the same as that of the strip 1

In the figure 5 , a coupon 2a of a band 1 is engaged in the opening 112a. On the figure 6 , we started to draw coupon 2a upwards; the coupon is deformed and passes through the opening.

Si on continue à tirer sur le coupon 2a, la ligne des tenons T se rompt libérant celui-ci, comme on le voit sur la figure 8.When coupon 2a has been drawn, the dividing line with the next coupon 2b is in the opening in turn. We see on the figure 7 that the line p1 formed of the tenons T is at the edge of the opening 112a. The second parts of the separation line P2 and P'2 are braked by the closed edges 112b and 112c. We see in detail the stop of the second parts against the closed edges. If we continue to draw on the coupon 2a, the line of tenons T breaks freeing it, as we see on the figure 8 .

Thanks to the guiding of the two panels and the friction, the coupon 2b is retained by them. He does not fall back into the box. He is ready and in place to be extracted in his turn. In other words, the cutting of a coupon 2a is performed at the distribution slot 112a while the next coupon 2b is positioned and maintained in the guide means 11,12.
  • The figure 9 shows a variant with an opening 212a on one side and a single closed edge 212b; the operation is the same.
  • The figure 10 shows a box of the dispensing system of the invention unfolded. We find the two panels 11 and 12 cut to form an opening 112a the two panels are connected on either side of the opening 112a by a line 112b and 112c. The width of the panels is that of the box. Their folding height is substantially equal here to half the length of a coupon which is guided and maintained between the two panels. More generally the height is at least equal to 10% of the length of the coupon.

The box is for example cardboard but any other material is suitable; she can be flexible. The panels are rigid or semi-rigid in order to be able to perform the guiding and holding function of the sheets of paper.

Claims (9)

  1. System for dispensing cut lengths of a strip of paper, such as toilet paper or kitchen paper, contained in a box (10) that is made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard and dispenses individual cut lengths (2a, 2b) through a dispensing slot (112a), the strip of paper being made up of cut lengths held together by tenons (T), characterized in that
the dispensing slot (112a) is narrower in width than the width of the strip,
the box (10) comprises a guide means (11, 12) for guiding the strip, this means being formed of two wall elements (11, 12) forming a narrow space through which the strip is guided and held with contact as far as the dispensing slot (112a) and being formed by folding a panel about a fold line in which the said dispensing slot is formed.
  2. Dispensing system according to Claim 1 in which the tenons (T) between two cut lengths are arranged on a first part (P1) and on a second part (P2, P'2) in such a way that the resistance to pulling is lower on the second part than on the first part thus forming, on the said second part, a separation initiator at which the cut lengths are encouraged to separate.
  3. Dispensing system according to Claim 2 in which the tenons (T) have, on the said first part, a first spacing (E1) between two adjacent tenons and, on the said second part, a second spacing (E2) between two adjacent tenons, the two spacings being different from one another.
  4. Dispensing system according to Claim 3 in which the second spacing (E2) is equal to the width of the second part (P2, P'2).
  5. System according to Claim 2 in which the first part (P1) extends between one quarter and three quarters of the width of the strip.
  6. System according to Claim 2 in which the first part extends over a central part of the strip, leaving, on each side, two second parts (P2, P'2).
  7. System according to one of the preceding claims in which the strip is in the form of a roll.
  8. System according to one of Claims 1 to 6 in which the strip is concertina-folded.
  9. System according to one of the preceding claims in which the two wall elements (11, 12) are arranged in such a way as to guide the strip which is to be dispensed in the form of cut lengths over at least 10% of the length of a cut length.
