Description

The invention relates to a closure of a package, preferably a beverage can, wherein the package has a lid which has at least one eccentric, for opening the lid crushable outlet region with a predetermined breaking line, and further a cover is provided which relative to the lid a closed position is reversibly movable to an open position, and at the outlet region, a first contact surface is arranged, which cooperates with a counter surface arranged on the cover upon movement of the cover to press the outlet region into the packaging, wherein a second abutment surface provided is, spaced from the first contact surface on further movement of the cover relative to the lid also cooperates with the counter surface.

Packaging with an outlet area can be found especially in container packaging, in particular for bulk goods and liquids. In such packages, it is often difficult to expose an outlet area. As an example, cans are known in which a lever has to be gripped to push an opening into the lid of the can. Other packages have tapes to remove a film. In particular, in resealable packaging are usually positive or non-positively acting lid.

These packages have the disadvantage that they are either expensive to produce or the packaging is only cumbersome or expensive to open.

A closure of the type mentioned is in the US 5,692,633 discloses, wherein on a beverage can, a second lid made of metal is arranged, and over a bead in the first lid, a pressing of the pouring opening is achieved. A disadvantage of this design is that both the breaking of the predetermined breaking line of the pouring opening as well as the impressions of the pouring opening into the can takes place over this bead, so that here relatively high forces must be used, resulting in turn a complex, space-intensive geometry of the lid or the coverage results. It has also been shown that such solutions do not achieve complete exposure of the pouring opening, because the forces that occur do not press the pouring opening sufficiently far into the can. Other similar solutions can also be used WO 92/20584 A or the US 4,553,684 A be removed.

It is therefore an object of the invention to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art, and to provide a closure for a packaging, which is easy to operate and at the same time provides a substantial exposure of the outlet area.

This object is achieved by a closure of the type mentioned in the present invention, that the second contact surface on the outlet, area arranged and is designed as a run-up slope or as a survey. This solution according to the invention has the advantage that the first abutment surface is provided essentially for breaking up the predetermined breaking line, while the second abutment surface effects the pushing in of the outlet region into the packaging.

Thus, when the cover is moved laterally or rotationally relative to the outlet area in the lid, the mating surface of the cover presses against a first abutment surface to force the outlet area formed on the package into the packaging. This makes it possible to provide a cover which is relatively easy to grasp, in order to apply, with different lever ratios depending on the embodiment, the force necessary to push the outlet area into the packaging. The described opening mechanism is particularly useful in a can, because the known from the prior art devices for opening a can are often not very user friendly. This concerns above all round cans for which the opening mechanism is particularly suitable, wherein it additionally has the advantage that the closure according to the invention is also suitable for reclosing the can. The closure according to the invention is particularly suitable for packaging, which have a cover made of sheet metal. In particular, for carbonated drinks are often used cans with a lid made of sheet metal, which are particularly easy to open with the mechanism described.

Here, the first contact surface and the counter surface are preferably formed as chamfers, while the second contact surface is designed as a run-up slope or as a survey. Thus, for example, a first abutment surface designed as a separating bevel enables the separation of the outlet region from the cover, and a second abutment surface designed as a pressure bevel allows the outlet region to be pushed into or swiveled into the packaging. The action of the counter surface of the cover on the separation slope in the outlet area ensures that the package is opened and the outlet area is pressed in a special area when opening the package in the package. In order to open the packaging further, the outlet region is pressed into the packaging via an interaction of the counter surface of the cover with a pressure bevel in such a way that a sufficient opening for emptying the packaging results.

In particular for the opening of the outlet area by pressing out of the example, punched in the sheet predetermined breaking line are higher targeted aufzubrin-ing Forces are necessary, which can be achieved in a simple manner by interacting with an inclined plane. In order to possibly even higher forces from the cover on the counter surface on the outlet area to act, it is proposed that the outlet region has a surface with a slope that with a protruding element, such as a cam or possibly another bevel or leading edge cooperates the cover to apply high forces on the outlet area via the interaction of inclined planes. If the contact surfaces are punched in a lid of the packaging, this allows the contact surface in a simple manner to form any desired and provide special slopes for optimal power transmission.

In addition, it is provided that the outlet region is clearly delimited by a predetermined breaking line, so that upon opening the outlet region easily separates from the surrounding region of the packaging in order to be pressed into the packaging. In this case, the outlet area remains, for example, via a web with the rest of the lid in connection to be pressed into the package, without being detached from the rest of the lid and fall into the package.

In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the counter surface of the cover is receivable in a recess in the lid. In this case, the recess advantageously has at least one run-on slope, which is arranged at an acute angle to the plane of the cover.

It is particularly preferred that the recess for receiving the counter surface of the cover is embossed in the material of the lid. In the closed position of the cover in this case the counter surface is first arranged in a recess in the lid of the package. During a movement of the cover relative to the cover, a bias initially builds up in which the counter surface moves out of the recess in the cover and slides along the cover plane. Subsequently, the mating surface comes to the first contact surface, which protrudes from the lid plane. As a result, the bias voltage is further increased, so that when the mating surface abuts against the first contact surface, the outlet region is opened along the predetermined breaking line.

It is proposed, for example, that at least one of the contact surfaces has a run-on slope, which is arranged at an acute angle to the plane of the lid of the package. When the mating surface of the cover cooperates with the run-on slope, the pressure on the outlet region can be increased slowly, preferably to a level which allows the packaging to be opened. It is advantageous here if the cover is arranged rotatably on the outlet. This allows it in the radially outer area To allow contact surface and counter surface interact with each other to use the resulting by the radius lever.

According to the shape of the contact surfaces and the counter surface may have a run-on slope, which is arranged at an acute angle to the plane of the cover. The acute angle allows for a flat ramp that, like a gearbox, extends the path and reduces the force needed to push the outlet into the package.

A particular embodiment provides that the counter surface causes a pressure on the outlet, which is directed at an angle to the displacement direction of the counter surface. Normally, the mating surface acts on the outlet region in such a way that the outlet region is pressed into the packaging in the direction of this pressure. Particularly in the case of round packages in which the cover is displaceable relative to the outlet region as a rotational movement, the outlet region should not be pressed into the packaging in the direction of this rotational movement.

For many embodiments, it is therefore advantageous if the outlet region is pressed, for example, radially to the rotational movement of the cover into the packaging. As a result, outlet regions known from conventional beverage cans can be pressed, for example, at least partially into the packaging by the pressure of the cover, in order subsequently to push the outlet region into the packaging in an angled direction for further movement of the cover relative to the cover. Depending on the embodiment of the packaging, however, it is preferable in many cases if the cover is arranged to be laterally displaceable on the outlet region.

In particular, when the cover is made of plastic, it is advantageous if the counter surface is formed in the cover. This allows a simple way to give the counterface a special shape that optimally leverages the leverage to push the outlet area into the package with minimal force.

A special variant in a very flat construction provides that the two contact surfaces can be accommodated in a receptacle arranged in the cover. This allows the two abutment surfaces to protrude from a cover plane and be received in an area of the cover. By a relative movement between the abutment surfaces and a mating surface provided on the cover, a force acts on the outlet area to push it into the packaging. In order to also let the mating surface from the plane of the cover without significantly increasing the height of the package, It is proposed that a cover has a recess into which the counter surface extends at a certain position of the cover relative to the lid of the package.

Preferably, in this case the receptacle is designed as a region with a reduced material cross section of the cover.

An advantageous embodiment provides that the cover has a seal, which is preferably arranged between receiving and counter surface. Such a seal allows, for example, a reclosability of the package, especially when the package is filled with liquid media.

In order to achieve a good sealing effect, it is proposed that the seal presses under pretension against a cover. In order to keep the space between the cover and the rest of the package free from leaking packaging contents even after the outlet area has been opened, it is proposed that the cover has a seal extending around an opening in the cover.

Cumulatively or alternatively, it is proposed that the cover has a seal extending around a closure in the cover. The cover may thus have a closure and an opening, these areas being respectively surrounded by a seal. This allows easy pouring of media from the package as well as a secure closure of the package after the outlet area has been pushed into the package.

Manufacturing processes, such as coextrusion or multi-component injection molding, allow a gasket to be integrally formed with the cover. It is advantageous if the seal is made of a different material than the rest of the cover, because the seal requires a high degree of flexibility, while the remaining packaging requires a high stability.

An alternative embodiment provides that the seal is arranged on a cover and cooperates with the cover or that seals are provided on the cover and cover.

In a further preferred embodiment, it is provided that the surface of the cover facing away from the cover is designed essentially flat around the pouring opening. Thus, for example, the risk of spillage is substantially reduced when drinking from a beverage can. In addition, for example, contamination of the cover during storage can be easily eliminated and the packaging is also better stackable.

A simple solution of the invention provides that the cover is attached to the lid of the package. For example, in the case of a can, the flanged edge serves to firmly support the cover on the cover and at the same time rotatably.

An inexpensive production variant provides that the cover is made of plastic. This makes it possible to produce the cover in any colors and inexpensively in large quantities.

The Fig. 1 shows a section of a package with a closure 1, wherein the package has a cover 2, over which a cover 3 is arranged. The cover 3 is fixed to the lid 2 such that a relative movement between the cover 3 and the lid 2 is possible (not shown). In a round or circular box, the cover 3 shown as a settlement is moved relative to the lid 2 underneath. However, the figures clearly show that in a packaging form other than a can, a lateral movement between the cover 3 and the lid 2 leads to the same result.

The cover 2 has an outlet region 4, which is surrounded by a deeply scored predetermined breaking line 6 except for a web 5. This outlet region 4 has a first contact surface 7, which is formed as an inclined plane. Furthermore, a survey 8 is provided, which acts as a second contact surface.

In addition, the cover 3 has a circumferential seal 9, which is arranged in a recess 11, wherein in the illustrated figures, the seal 9 is shown only on the right side, while on the left side of the seal 9 receiving groove 11 is shown.

The cover 3 also has a mating surface 12, which in a first position of the cover according to Fig. 1 is received in a recess 13 in the lid 2, while the outlet portion 4 of the lid 2 protrudes into a receptacle 10 of the cover 3.

When rotating or moving the cover 3 relative to the cover 2 according to the Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 migrates the counter surface 12 to the first contact surface 7 back. In Fig. 2 the position is shown in which the counter surface 12 rests against the first bearing surface 7. The cover 3 has already lifted something of the cover 2 during this movement, while the counter surface 12 has migrated at a slope 14 from the recess 13 in the cover 2.

In a further movement of the cover 3 in the direction of the arrow 15 relative to the cover 2, the counter surface 12 presses against the first bearing surface 7, while the seal 9 presses against the elevation 8 ( Fig. 3 ).

In particular, the pressure of the mating surface 12 against the first abutment surface 7 causes the outlet region 4 to separate from the cover 2 in the region of the deep scored predetermined breaking line 6 and to be pressed down into the packaging. After separation of the predetermined breaking line 6, the force exerted by the seal 9 on the elevation 8 acts on the outlet region 4 in such a way that it kinks in the region of a material weakness 16 which is provided in the web 5.

When the cover 3 is moved further in the direction of the arrow 15 relative to the cover 2, the counter surface 12 reaches the elevation 8, whereby the outlet area is bent even more. As a result, an opening 17 is produced in the lid 2, which in the Fig. 4 shown position of the cover 3 is still covered by the cover 3.

If now the cover 3 is moved further in the direction of the arrow 15, an outlet region 18, which is formed as an opening in the cover 3, enters the region above the opening 17 in the cover 2. This allows bulk material or a liquid in a simple manner from the packaging (open position of the cover 3).

When reclosing the packaging, the cover 3 is moved in the direction opposite to arrow 15 until the counter surface 12 of the cover 3 is again received in the recess 13 of the lid 2, the cover 3 so again in the closed position according to Fig. 1 located. The seal 9 ensures that, despite the outlet area 4 projecting into the packaging, the contents remaining in the packaging can not escape.

It is readily apparent to those skilled in the art that the opening 18 in the cover 3 may also be surrounded by a seal which, when the package is open, lies around the opening 17 and bears against the lid 2 on the edge of the opening 17. This prevents that leaking material from the packaging in the area between the cover 2 and cover 3 passes.

In the FIGS. 5 to 8 an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown, wherein in Fig. 5 a package 20 with a lid 21 without cover located thereon is shown. The cover 21 has an outlet region 22 which is delimited by a predetermined breaking line 23. The outlet region 22 is only partially bounded by the predetermined breaking line 23 and connected via a web 24 with the rest of the lid 21. In the region of the web 24, a material weakening 25 is provided, which makes it easier to press the outlet region 22 into the packaging 20.

On the outlet region 22, a separating bump 26 is provided which has a separating bevel 27 on its upper side. In addition, a pusher elevation 28 is provided, which has a pressure bevel 29.

While - like in the Fig. 6 shown - the separation slope 27 increases slightly from bottom to top, the pressure ramp 29 increases according to Fig. 7 from right to left, while at the same time their height (cf. FIGS. 7 and 8 ) increases. The slope of the separating bevel 27 is thus arranged at right angles to the slope of the pressure bevel 29.

On the right side of the Fig. 6 to Fig. 8 It is shown how the mating surface 30 of a cover 31 first acts on the parting surface 27 and then on the pressure bevel 29. In the present embodiment, for this purpose, the cover 31 is rotated away with a serving as a counter-surface 30 elevation over the lid 21, wherein the counter surface 30 initially acts on the separation surface 27, that the outlet region 22 ruptures in the region of the predetermined breaking line 23 and bends slightly downwards.

After that, the mating surface 30 engages with the pressure bevel 29 in order to push the outlet region 22 further into the packaging 20 by pressure on the pressure bevel 29. Since on the right side of the outlet area 22 in Fig. 7 a web 24 is provided with a material weakening 25, while on the left side of the outlet region 22 is an already torn break line, the outlet region 22 is pressed or pivoted obliquely into the package.

The pressure bevel 29 in the pusher elevation 28 is designed in such a way that, due to its bevel when the cover 31 rotates further relative to the cover 21, the mating surface 30 presses the pressure surface 29 and thus the outlet region 22 farther into the packaging 20.

Upon further rotation of the cover 31 relative to the outlet region 22, an opening in the cover 31 congruently contacts the outlet region 22 so that liquid or bulk material flows out of the package 20 through the outlet region 22 and the aperture (not shown) in the cover 31 can. Again, by moving the cover 31 to the home position, a secure reclosure of the package 20 is possible, with sealing means (not shown) being provided particularly in the cover 22 to prevent leakage of the package contents.
