Description

The present invention relates to a package comprising a food container type container closed by a lid and an envelope which surrounds the container and in contact with which the latter is mounted, and a method of manufacturing this package.

It has long been known to package food products in a container closed by a lid, further providing the container thus obtained with a typically cardboard envelope surrounding it at its bottom, its upper face and at least two its opposite side faces, for example by hot sealing or gluing this envelope on this container. For example, the document GB-A-2,284,585 which presents a package thus obtained.

A major disadvantage of these known wrapper wrappings surrounding a closed container lies in the need to individualize each container specifically according to the product it is intended to contain, by the labeling operation of its lid and / or container, which represents a relatively high cost of manufacturing containers.

An object of the present invention is to provide a package comprising a container for food product container type closed by a lid, and an envelope surrounding the container and in contact with which it is mounted, which overcomes this disadvantage.

For this purpose, a packaging according to the invention is such that this lid is coated with at least one identification element of the product which is plated thereon by removal of at least one zone of the envelope of predetermined geometry and forming the or each element.

By "container" and "lid" is meant in the present description respectively a support for the food product having a bottom and optionally a side wall (this container to be lacking side wall in the case of a base or plate receiving this product), and a closure means of this support can be of substantially flat or side-walled type (ie a bell in the latter case).

It will be noted that this packaging according to the invention makes it possible to use containers initially "neutral" in appearance, ie blank of any inscription or label even for different products that they are intended to contain, thanks to the use of envelope itself to identify each product by transfer of one or more predetermined areas (s) of this envelope on the container wall at the location of its lid and optionally the side wall of the container that closes.

It will also be noted that the container may be coated with a plurality of distinct identification elements coming from this envelope, or with a single identification element designed to form a commercial label applied to this container.

Preferably, the container is coated with a single identification element placed on its lid by punching the envelope at the location of said corresponding zone, which is located substantially in the center of an upper face of the amputated envelope. from this area. Advantageously, this punching is performed in an automated manner, it being specified that this identification element could also be otherwise cut before being fixed on the lid.

Even more preferably, this identification element consisting of said envelope zone forms a label for the lid which extends substantially over the entire surface of the latter towards the interior and below a peripheral rim of the lid. which is clipped on the container, this flange preferably having a plurality of evenly spaced depressions on the periphery of a shoulder of this flange against which is disposed this element.

It should be noted that these recesses facilitate the positioning of the identification element against the lid rim.

According to another characteristic of the invention, said or each identification element can be fixed to the lid by mechanical or adhesive means, this element being preferably pre-glued to adhere to the lid following the aforementioned punching forming a label identifying the product contained in the container.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the wall of the envelope comprises a bottom receiving the container and a perforated upper face by the removal of said zone which are interconnected by two opposite side faces, this wall being adapted to wedge the container in the envelope.

According to another characteristic of the invention, means for holding the container in the envelope may advantageously be formed on said wall of the latter, being localized:
  • on a peripheral region on the inner side of said upper face surrounding said removed area, by sealing or gluing this inner region to a peripheral rim of the lid, and / or
  • on said bottom by at least two wedging flaps which are respectively articulated on two opposite lower edges of this bottom connecting said lateral faces to each other and which are each adapted to fit a part of the side wall of the container being folded inwards of the envelope.

Advantageously, the side wall of the container may be symmetrical with revolution, for example at least in part frustoconical, and the cover is in this case circular clip-type on this side wall, the envelope then preferably having a substantially parallelepipedal geometry and said holding means comprising these two flaps whose respective free edges are indented in an arc so as to match the contour of this side wall to wedge the container opposite the two side faces of the envelope.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the envelope may advantageously be made of folded cardboard and welded by covering at its bottom by a weld strip extending on one side of said bottom, and the container may be made of at least one plastic material (for example two different flexible thermoplastic materials for the lid and for the container).

As indicated above, the envelope may have a substantially parallelepipedal geometry enclosing the container, which is preferably symmetrical of revolution and is for example of circular radial section. It will be noted, however, that other non-circular geometries can be used both for the lid and for the container which it closes, elliptical or polygonal (for example rectangular or square) sections being also conceivable for the container.

A manufacturing method according to the invention of a package as defined above comprises successively:
  1. a) a filling of the container by means of said product,
  2. b) a closure of the container thus filled by its lid,
  3. c) a positioning of the envelope around the container thus closed so that said or each zone of the envelope to be removed which comprises said or each identification element is located opposite a predetermined location of the lid, then
  4. d) punching the envelope thus positioned at the location of the or each zone to press the or each identification element on the lid, this element preferably being pre-glued to adhere to the lid after this punching.

Other characteristics, advantages and details of the present invention will emerge on reading the following description of several examples of embodiment of the invention, given for illustrative and not limiting, said description being made with reference to the accompanying drawings, among which :
  • the figure 1 is a schematic view from above of a package according to the invention,
  • the figure 2 is a perspective view of the packaging of the figure 1 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention,
  • the figure 3 is a perspective view of the packaging of the figure 1 during manufacture, according to another exemplary embodiment of the invention corresponding to a variant of the figure 2 ,
  • the figure 4 is a perspective view of a container with a cover that can be used in the packaging of figures 2 and 3 , and
  • the figure 5 is a top view of the container of the figure 4 showing the detail of the structure of the lid that it contains.

The package 1,1 'illustrated preferentially to Figures 1 to 5 For example, it contains a cheese or a cheese specialty, as it could contain any other food product. This package 1 comprises, on the one hand, a container 2 which is filled with this product and which consists of a container 3 closed by a lid 4 and, on the other hand, an envelope 5, 5 'which surrounds the container 2 and in contact with which the latter is mounted.

In the exemplary embodiments illustrated, the envelope 5, 5 'has a parallelepipedal geometry enclosing the container 2, which is symmetrical of revolution with a circular radial section for the container 3 which is for example flared along several generally frustoconical sections that for the cover 4 which is flat, with the exception of a peripheral rim 4a which clip on a peripheral edge of the container 3. The latter and the cover 4 are for example made of two different flexible thermoplastic materials.

As illustrated in figures 2 and 3 , the envelope 5, 5 ', made of folded cardboard, essentially comprises a bottom 5a receiving that of the container 3 and an upper face 5b perforated at its center which are interconnected by two opposite side faces 5c and 5d, so that that the other two opposite sides of the envelope 5, 5 'are open (at least partly) to allow to extract the container and reposition there after use. This envelope 5, 5 'is furthermore welded to itself at its bottom by a welding strip 5e (visible at the figure 3 ) extending along one side of the bottom 5a.

According to the invention, the upper face 5b of the envelope 5, 5 'is pierced by punching (see arrow A in FIG. figure 3 ) of a predetermined zone S thereof (identified by dashed lines in this figure) intended to form an identification tag 6 of the product contained in the container 2, after filling, closing and precise positioning of the latter below this top face 5b punching (this label 6 is symbolized by hatching at Figures 1, 2 , 4 and 5 ). This punching is advantageously performed by a piston with automated control, and it thus has the effect of transferring to the container 2 the label 6 pre-integrated with the envelope 5, 5 'by plating it by gluing on the external face of the lid 4 , for example on the whole surface of this one as visible on the Figures 1 to 5 . For this purpose, the label 6 may be pre-glued to adhere instantly to the lid 4 during this punching.

As can be seen in Figures 4 and 5 , the flange 4a of the cover 4 is connected to the flat surface of the latter receiving the label 6 by a shoulder 4b which forms a peripheral vertical stop for the latter and which has recesses 4c (see figure 2 ) regularly spaced to facilitate the positioning of the label 6 when it is applied to the lid 4.

The package 1 according to the invention further comprises (see figures 2 and 3 ) means for holding the container 2 in the envelope 5, 5 'which are formed on the wall of the latter being for example obtained by gluing, on the rim 4a of the cover 4, a peripheral region (not visible ) of the inner side of its upper face 5b surrounding the orifice thereof resulting from the punching of the zone S.

In the example of the figure 2 these holding means also comprise two flaps 7 for clamping the container 3 (only one flap 7 is visible) which are respectively articulated on two opposite lower edges 8 of the bottom 5a of the envelope 5 connecting its lateral faces 5b and 5c therebetween and which each have their free edges 7a indented in an arc to fit a portion of the side wall of the container 3 being folded towards the inside of the envelope 5.

It will be noted that the shape of the envelope 5, 5 'of a package according to the invention is not limited to that illustrated in these figures, and that it could alternatively be partially or totally closed on each of its faces. laterally (ie instead of the two open sides of the envelope 5, 5 ', which could for example be provided with flaps articulated on the bottom 5a or the upper face 5b).
