Definitions
- the invention relates to a metering device for supplying a fluid into a fluid flow according to the preamble of independent claim 1 and to a method for metering a fluid into a fluid flow.
- a metering device for supplying a fluid in a fluid flow of the type mentioned is known.
- a pipe section is arranged in a fluid main line, wherein this pipe section is connected via an angle piece with a metering pump.
- This pipe section has a plurality of throttle openings at its periphery.
- the fluid is pumped under pressure into this tube section and exits vertically with respect to the fluid flow therein.
- the supply of the fluid into the fluid flow depends in this case on the fixed parameters of the cross sections of the openings of the pressure in the supply line. With pressure fluctuations by a metering pump, fluctuations in the supply quantity for the fluid thus continue to result.
- the cited document also proposes to include the pipe section in an open cylinder, which is also arranged in the fluid flow line. This results in a two-stage interference of Fluids in the fluid flow, whereby concentration fluctuations can be reduced.
- WO 94/00225 A1 is a mixing device for two fluids having different temperatures known.
- a nozzle element is inserted into the line for a fluid flow, said nozzle element operates on the venturi principle.
- a Venturi nozzle is used, which is enclosed by an outer jacket of the nozzle member. Between the Venturi nozzle and the outer jacket, a fluid chamber is formed. By a main pump fluid is supplied to this fluid chamber. Openings are provided on the venturi to connect the area within the nozzle to the fluid chamber. As the fluid stream passes through the venturi, it is accelerated so that the resulting vacuum sucks the fluid into the main fluid stream and causes some premixing within the nozzle element. This premixed cleaning liquid enters the main stream at the end of the Venturi nozzle and mixes with it.
- this device can achieve a relatively good mixing, but requires a high design effort, which can only be realized with correspondingly high costs.
- Another metering device is from the US-A-5971371 known.
- a metering device for supplying a fluid into a fluid stream, which is guided in a first pipe section, with a second pipe section which is arranged in the first pipe section and a fluid port for supplying the fluid into the second pipe section, wherein the second tube section has at least one throttle opening for feeding the fluid from the second tube section into the fluid flow into the first tube section, which is characterized in that the second tube section has a dynamic pressure opening which is directed counter to the fluid flow.
- a fluid can be fed discontinuously to the device and still results in a uniform concentration in a continuous fluid flow.
- the metering rate of the fluid into the fluid flow depends on the back pressure of the fluid flow at the dynamic pressure port, this back pressure being directly related to the flow rate in the fluid flow. In the event of fluctuations in the fluid flow, the metering rate of the fluid is thus adapted directly, without the need for elaborate control of a metering pump or the like.
- the device may be used by sizing for all other beverage pumping dosing pump applications. That In addition to the detergent dosing syrup can be dosed into a stream of water, for example.
- the present object is achieved according to the invention by a method for metering a fluid into a fluid flow, wherein a volume of the fluid is applied directly to a back pressure of the fluid flow and the pressurized fluid throttled delivered to the fluid flow and fluid volume as a function of the fluid flow discharged fluid is supplied.
- Fig. 1 shows the metering device with a first pipe section 3, which is part of a bottling plant not shown in detail.
- a second pipe section 4 is preferably used concentrically.
- This second pipe section 4 is cylindrical.
- a supply pipe 5 is attached to the second pipe section, this supply pipe for supplying a fluid 2, for example a cleaning fluid, and on the other hand holds the second pipe section 4 in the first pipe section 3.
- the supply pipe 5 is connected to a metering pump (not shown).
- the second pipe section 4 has an open end.
- the opposite end of the second pipe section 4 is closed by a plate 9, as in the FIGS. 1 and 2 shown.
- a first throttle opening 6 is arranged in this plate 9, as shown in the FIGS. 1 . 2 and 6 is shown.
- This first throttle opening 6 is formed concentrically in the second pipe section 4 and also concentrically with respect to the first pipe section 3.
- On the peripheral surface of the second pipe section 4 further throttle openings 8 are provided. These further throttle openings 8 are uniformly distributed on the lateral surface of the second tube section 4 in the radial direction, the number of which increases in the direction of the open end of the second tube section 4.
- the cross section of the open end of the second pipe section 4 is formed substantially parallel to the cross section of the first throttle opening 6.
- a fluid flow 1 is passed through the first pipe section.
- This fluid stream impinges on the second pipe section 4 at its open end, as in the Fig. 3 is shown.
- This open end forms a dynamic pressure opening 7, which is opposite to the fluid flow 1.
- the fluid flow 1 acts directly perpendicular to the cross section of the dynamic pressure opening. 7
- a cleaning concentrate (cleaning agent) is supplied as fluid 2 to a water stream as fluid stream 1.
- This cleaning concentrate is pumped by the metering pump (not shown) via the feed pipe 5 in the second pipe section 4.
- the minimum supply amount for the cleaning agent is set with respect to the cross-sectional area of the first throttle bore 6. It is determined by the necessary flow for the minimum stroke of the metering pump. In the case of a discontinuous, pulsating supply of the cleaning agent, only part of this cleaning agent is supplied immediately and directly into the fluid flow 1 via the first throttle bore 6. Further cleaning agent, which is not immediately discharged directly, is stored in the second pipe section 4 and delivered to the fluid stream 1 between the pumping strokes.
- This volume of cleaning concentrate in the second pipe section 4 is acted upon directly by the dynamic pressure of the fluid stream 1, which acts on the volume via the dynamic pressure opening 7.
- the metering rate for the cleaning concentrate is thus determined by the cross section of the first throttle opening 6 and the back pressure of the fluid stream 1 and is substantially independent of the characteristics of the metering pump for the cleaning concentrate, as long as a minimum volume is promoted.
- a continuous fluid flow 1 a continuous supply of the cleaning concentrate can thus be achieved, as long as the metering pump ensures intermediate storage of the cleaning concentrate in the second pipe section between the pumping strokes and "overflowing" of the second pipe section at the dynamic pressure opening 7 is prevented by limiting the pumping capacity of the metering pump ,
- the further throttle openings 8 are provided on the lateral surface of the second pipe section 4. These further throttle openings 8 lead cleaning concentrate to the fluid flow 1 in the radial direction, when the delivery volume of the metering pump, starting from the minimum volume, further increased and the volume of cleaning concentrate of two consecutive pump strokes no longer in the time from the beginning of the first stroke to the end of the second stroke through the first throttle opening 6 the fluid flow 1 can be supplied.
- the second pipe section 4 With an increased pumping capacity of the metering pump, the second pipe section 4 thus fills with cleaning concentrate, this then being discharged in a corresponding manner via the further throttle openings 8.
- the maximum delivery volume for the metering pump is thus determined by the sum of the outlet cross sections of all throttle bores 6, 8, since overflow of the second tube section via the dynamic pressure opening 7 is to be prevented.
- cleaning liquid is stored between two pumping strokes in the second pipe section and discharged according to the back pressure by the fluid flow 1 thereto.
- the volume of the second pipe section thus substantially corresponds to at least one delivery stroke volume of the metering pump or is greater than this.
- the volume defined by the second pipe section is to be sized so that the maximum delivery volume of two successive delivery strokes, less the volume delivered by the respective exit cross sections of the throttle bores during the two delivery strokes, can be accommodated.
- the first throttle opening 6 is arranged at the downstream end of the second pipe section.
- a complete emptying of the second pipe section 4 is possible, so that after completion of the cleaning process (stop the metering pump) and a certain purge time no cleaning concentrate in the second pipe section 4 remains.
- the rinsing of the second pipe section 4 can thus be achieved in a simple manner by the fluid flow 1, for example a water flow, so that a bottling plant or the like can be put back into operation directly after the end of the entire cleaning process.
- the sum of the opening cross-sectional area of all holes is so large that at maximum stroke, the storage volume is being emptied.
- the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the dynamic pressure opening 7 to the cross-sectional area of the first throttle opening 6 is set in the range 25: 1.
- the diameter of the first throttle opening 6 is 5 mm, and preferably in a range of 3 to 7 mm, wherein the diameters of the further throttle openings 8 are set at 3 mm, and preferably in a range of 2 to 7 mm
- the diameter of the dynamic pressure opening 7 substantially corresponds to the diameter of the second pipe section 4 and, in the exemplary embodiment shown, is 25 mm, and is preferably in a range of 20 to 40 mm.
- throttle openings 6 and 8 can also be arranged, for example, as slots in the flow direction or transversely to the flow direction of the fluid flow 1.
- a concentrically arranged bore is formed as the first throttle opening 6.
- a plurality of bores can be arranged on the corresponding end plate of the second pipe section.
- throttle openings may also be slit-shaped.
- the metering device operates as a metering rectifier, wherein with a discontinuous fluid delivery, a continuous supply of the fluid can be achieved in a continuous fluid flow.
- the exemplary embodiment shows the metering device as metering rectifier for feeding the fluid 2, for example a cleaning concentrate, into the fluid flow 1, for example a water flow, which is guided in a first tube section 3.
- the second pipe section 4 is arranged in the first pipe section 3 and has a fluid connection 5 for the supply of the fluid 2.
- the second pipe section 4 furthermore has at least one throttle opening 6 for feeding the fluid 2 from the second pipe section 4 into the fluid stream 1 and the dynamic pressure opening 7, which is directed counter to the fluid flow 1.
- the throttle opening 6 is formed in a closed end portion of the second pipe section 4.
- a cross section of the throttle opening 6 is parallel to a cross section of the dynamic pressure opening 7.
- the throttle opening 6 is coaxial with the first pipe section 3.
- the dynamic pressure opening 7 is formed coaxially with the first pipe section 3.
- the second pipe section 4 is coaxial with the first pipe section 3.
- the fluid port 5 is arranged with respect to the fluid flow between the dynamic pressure port 7 and the throttle opening 6, d. H. the cleaning fluid supply pipe 5 is connected closer to the downstream end of the second pipe section 4 than to the dynamic pressure port 7 thereof.
- the second pipe section 4 can fill from the end plate 9, starting against the back pressure with cleaning fluid, whereby a limited mixing of the cleaning fluid with water in the second pipe section 4 takes place. This increases the dosing accuracy in the supply of the cleaning fluid to the fluid flow (water flow) through the throttle openings.
- the cross-sectional ratio of the diameter of the throttle opening 6 to the dynamic pressure opening 7 in the range of 1: 3 to 1: 7, preferably 1: 5.
- further throttle openings 8 are distributed in particular uniformly over the circumference on the lateral surface of the second tube section. These further throttle openings 8 increase the effective throttle cross section of all throttle openings 8 in the direction upstream of the fluid flow.
- the sum of the cross-sectional areas of all bores 6, 8 corresponds at least to the necessary area, so that the volume of the maximum pump stroke can flow off completely.
- a preferred cross-sectional ratio of all throttle openings 8 in the second pipe section 4 to the dynamic pressure opening 7 is in the range from 1: 3 to 1:10, preferably 1: 7.
- the volume of the pressurized fluid 2 in the second pipe section 4 is dependent on the variable or pulsating supply volume of the fluid 2 through the metering pump.
- the volume rate of the fluid 2 delivered to the fluid flow 1 is dependent on the back pressure of the fluid flow 1, but substantially independent of the fluid supply by the metering pump.
