Description

The present invention relates to a sink insert according to the preamble of claim 1, comprising a plastic mat element to be inserted into the sink, having a top surface which is impacted by the water, said surface having a plurality of openings for the flow of the draining water the mat element has at least one support area on the underside, formed by support elements, wherein the support area is spaced apart from the upper surface of the mat element.

Sink inserts known from the prior art are often simple mats made of plastic, consisting of lattice-like webs which cross each other at right angles and extend in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction. Such mat-like sink inserts have been known since the 50s. In the DE 1 739 639 U 1 For example, such a sink insert is described. Between the intersecting webs each approximately rectangular openings are formed, through which the water runs.

In the DE 7934572 U 1 a mat is described as an insert for sinks, which serves to protect the dishes in the sink. The mat has lattice structure sections, which are connected to each other via material bridges like a grid. By separating individual areas, the mat can be adapted to different outline shapes for different sinks. At the bottom of the mat, spacer cams projecting from the grid structure sections are provided in this mat, so that when the mat is laid out in a sink, the water drainage beneath the mat is made possible. This document contains no comments on the problem of aufspritzendem water, which enters the sink.

In the DE 20 2004 019 860 U1 a mat element for laying out a sink is described, which serves to prevent falling into the pool fragile objects such as dishes or glasses are damaged when belching on the pool surface. The mat element has perforations through which the water flowing on the mat element can drain. The mat element is flexible and consists of a shock-absorbing material, in particular a corresponding plastic. To fix the mat element in the sink can be provided on the underside of suction cups be. In this known sink insert is about the protection of the harness against damage by shock, but not a splash guard against back splash of water that impinges when flushing on the liner.

From the GB 350 854 A1 which describes the preamble of claim 1, a liner for preventing splashing is known, which is inserted as a one-piece plate of metal, porcelain or plastic in a sink. A continuous, full-scale honeycomb perforation of the plate in an alveolar manner, in the double conical widening openings mirror-symmetrically upper and lower ends in sharp breaklines with support tips, serves to break and divert impinging water.

The currently available commercially sink inserts are usually mat-like, made of plastics such as soft PVC or rubber and have rectangular or round openings for the outflowing water, which have their depth (material thickness of the mat) have a constant cross-section.

The object of the present invention is to provide a sink insert of the type mentioned, which has an improved splash guard.

The solution to this problem provides a sink insert of the aforementioned type with the characterizing features of the main claim.

According to the invention, subsequent channels are formed below the openings on the upper-side surface, which channels the water already passed through the openings in the direction of the sink bottom, ie approximately perpendicularly to the plane of the upper-side surface.

According to the invention, the cross section of the above-mentioned channels is greater than that of the openings, so that a water jet that has passed through an opening can broaden outward. Outline shape and cross section of holes and channels may vary. However, if circular holes are used, which is preferred, then it makes sense that the channels adjoining below the holes are at least partially approximately cylindrical. The cylindrical wall of these channels may extend according to a preferred embodiment of the invention in some areas except for the sink bottom, so that the channels simultaneously form support elements for the mat element on the sink bottom.

According to the invention, it is recommended that recesses are located in the wall of said channels, which ensures that the water flowing in through the openings into the channels flows away laterally, for example radially, in the case of cylindrical channels. Between the individual channels associated with the channels, the water which has passed through these recesses then flows below the upper-side surface over the sink bottom to the outflow of the sink.

In the preferred solution according to the invention, in which the cross-section of the openings is smaller than that of the underlying channels, into which the water enters after it has passed through the openings, the water is prevented from splashing back upwards. The water jet spreads after passing through the openings and is deflected by a relative to the channels axial flow in a radial flow, so that it then leaves through the recesses radially the channels. Another important advantage of the invention compared to conventional solutions is that the top surface of the mat element can be largely smooth, whereby the back splash is largely contained. In contrast, in the devices known from the prior art, the edges of the webs between the openings form regions in which the impinging water jet is broken to a great extent, so that a considerable proportion of the water splashes back upwards. In the solution according to the invention, however, the water passes after flowing through the openings in an example, approximately cylindrical bell-shaped space. The broken at the edges of the openings water flows downwards. A water jet passing through the opening at a certain (acute) angle to the plane of the upper surface of the mat, which impinges on the sink bottom and is reflected there, bounces back against the underside of the horizontal surface surrounding the opening and thus remains in the Channel and does not splash back up through the opening.

According to the invention, it is further provided that the mat element has an outer peripheral edge which extends from the upper side surface approximately at right angles down. When in the sink inserted mat element then this edge also forms a support element or a support area. The water then flows from a quasi in a cavity which is bounded at the top by the upper side surface of the mat element, is limited to the outside by the peripheral edge and is bounded at the bottom by the sink bottom, the water between the respective walls of the Channels, that is, flows outside of these channels.

A particularly preferred structural embodiment according to an embodiment of the task solution according to the invention provides that the openings are round, the channels are approximately cylindrical and at the bottom of the top surface of the mat element, the channels surrounding each of the openings approximately concentric, wherein the channels at its upper End adjoin the underside of the upper surface of the mat element and further wherein the outflow of water from these channels via lateral recesses in the radial direction and these lateral recesses are in the lower region in the Wall of the channels are located. Further preferably, the top surface of the mat member is substantially planar and smooth with no protruding elements so that the water impinging on that surface in areas where there is no opening flows laterally across the surface and does not splash back upwardly. Finally, it is also advantageous if the mat element according to the invention consists of a softer, somewhat pliable plastic, whereby the desired anti-perspirant properties are further improved and also the dishes are spared during rinsing.

The features mentioned in the dependent claims relate to preferred developments of the task solution according to the invention. Further advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail by way of embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.

First, on the FIG. 1 Referenced. The illustration shows a plan view of a sink insert according to the invention, which comprises a mat element 10, which preferably consists of a soft plastic. The mat member 10 has a rectangular outline in the present embodiment, but this may just as well be round, preferably according to the shape of the respective sink in which the insert is inserted. The mat member 10 has an upper surface 11, which is substantially flat and smooth, only pierced by a larger number of holes 12 through which the incident on the top surface 11 water flows. The holes 12 may be arranged here as in longitudinal and in transverse rows or else in a different pattern or any arrangement. There should only be a sufficient number of these holes 12 per area 11 to allow the water to drain off quickly enough. Furthermore, the mat member 10 has an outer peripheral edge 13. Below the holes 12th are each associated with these channels 14, which are larger in cross-section than the holes. The exact design of these channels and the drainage will be described below with reference to the Figures 2 and 3 explained in more detail.

In FIG. 2 It can be seen that the wall 14 a of a channel 14 is slightly inclined at an angle to the vertical, so that the channels seen from top to bottom slightly tapered. But these channels can just as well be purely cylindrical. It can be seen further, in particular in the enlarged sectional view according to FIG. 3 in that the upper opening 12 in the surface 11 of the mat element is in each case smaller in diameter than the cross section of the channel 14 adjoining it below the opening 12. This leads to the advantage that a jet of water impinging directly in the opening region from above is usually directed at an angle to the vertical on the upper side surface 11, is virtually caught in the channel 14 and does not splash back from the surface 11 upwards, because due to the laws of reflection (angle of incidence equal angle of reflection) bounces such a jet of water from the rule Sink bottom 15 back to the bottom 16 of the top surface 11 of the mat element 10 and therefore remains in the channel 14, from where the water then flows.

It is also the case that the water flowing through the smaller-diameter opening 12 is expanded in the further channel 14 in cross-section. How to In FIG. 3 recognizes the channel 14 is located under the opening 12 to this concentric. The common axis of opening 12 and channel 14 is designated 18. The water, which has initially passed approximately in the axial direction in the channel 14, can then continue to flow through lateral recesses 17 in the wall 14 a of the channel in the radial direction and thus leave the channel. From there, the water then enters a cavity 19 which comprises the entire area of the mat element 10 outside the channels 14 and which is bounded at the top by the underside 16 of the surface 11 and which is limited to the outside by the peripheral edge 13 of the Mat element 10. By the arrows in FIG. 3 this flow pattern of the inflowing into the channels and then draining water is indicated. From the cavity 19 of the mat element, the water can then finally flow through the drain, not shown here in the sink bottom 15.

The channels 14, which have approximately a bell shape, on the one hand serve to receive and guide the water flowing through the openings 12 and at the same time form as in FIG. 3 see with their respective lower end portions 14 b of the channel wall annular support elements on the sink bottom 15. In addition, the peripheral edge 13 forms with its lower end portion 13 a also a support area on the Sink bottom 15. The approximately perpendicular to the upper surface 11 of the mat member extending peripheral edge 13 is also achieved in that the support region of the mat member 10 is at a distance from the top surface 11 of the mat member, on which the water impinges.

Out FIG. 2 It can be seen that the respective recesses 17 of the channels in adjacent channels can be offset by 90 °, whereby it is ensured that the water emerging from the channels and entering the cavity 19 flows out of the channels to a fairly uniform distribution in all directions. In each channel, for example, there are two such recesses 17, which lie opposite each other on the circumference. If the two recesses 17 of the adjacent channel are offset by 90 ° in the circumferential direction, the water of two adjacent channels flows in all four directions in total.

Bezugszeichenliste 10 Mattenelement 11 oberseitige Fläche 12 Öffnungen 13 umlaufender Rand 13 a dessen untere Endbereich 14 Kanäle 14 a Wandung der Kanäle 14 b unterer Endbereich der Wandung 15 Spülbeckenboden 16 Unterseite der oberseitigen Fläche 17 Ausnehmungen 18 Achse des Kanals 19 Hohlraum außerhalb der Kanäle In FIG. 3 it can also be seen that the top surface 11 of the mat element 10 is largely flat and smooth and has no projections or protruding edges at which the water jet would be broken, which would lead to a stronger spray effect. The holes 12 are preferably simply recesses in the wall of the smooth top surface 11. The recesses 17 in the wall 14 a of the channels 14 result, for example, by approximately semicircular recesses in the lower region of the wall of the channels, which are down to the level of the sink bottom 15 are open. <B> LIST OF REFERENCES </ b> 10 Matt element 11 top surface 12 openings 13 surrounding border 13 a its lower end 14 channels 14 a Wall of the channels 14 b lower end of the wall 15 sink floor 16 Bottom of the top surface 17 recesses 18 Axis of the channel 19 Cavity outside the channels
