  4. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the switch actuation element (14) is blocked in the fail-safe position and maintains this blocked position independently of the position of the actuator (8).
  5. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the apparatus (1) has a blocking device by means of which the closed state of the protection device (2) can be locked releaseably.
  6. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the further curved track (17) has an engagement edge in which the switch actuating rod (21) of the positively driven NC contact (18) engages in the fail-safe position of the switch actuation element (14).
  7. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the apparatus (1) has a rotatably mounted cam disc (12) in the switch housing, in particular in a switch head housing that can be fixed to a switch base housing, which cam disc has the curved track (15) with which the switch actuation element (14) is held in contact.
  8. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the blocking device has an electromagnet (40), and that the electromagnet (40) is arranged coaxially to the switch actuation element (14).
  9. The apparatus (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the switch actuation element (14) at least partially forms an anchor of an electromagnet (40) of the blocking device.
