Hearing aids are very sensitive devices, but they may be exposed to relatively aggressive environments. In many cases today hearing aids are operated with zinc-air batteries. Before using these zinc-air batteries, the air holes on the top of the battery case are sealed with tape. This prevents air, especially oxygen, from the environment from reacting with the zinc of the battery. Namely, this type of non-chargeable electrochemical battery generates the electrical energy by oxidation of zinc with the oxygen of air.
If the hearing aid user wants to use the battery in his hearing aid, he will first remove the adhesive strip from the zinc-air battery. Once the tape is removed, oxygen will penetrate into the air holes of the battery. The atmospheric oxygen, which acts as a cathode in the reaction, will react with the aqueous zinc anode in the battery. The reaction results in corresponding electrical charges.
Not infrequently, there are white, powdery deposits on the zinc-air battery, which come from the air holes of the battery. These deposits are due to the electrolyte material potassium hydroxide (KOH) in the battery. KOH is very mobile in conjunction with water vapor and water and is relatively aggressive, especially against light metals.
The object of the present invention is thus to protect switching elements of a hearing device in a simple manner from corrosion.
According to the invention the object is achieved by a hearing device according to claim 1.
Advantageously, it can be prevented by the membrane that aggressive, originating from a battery substances reach the interior of a hearing device or a hearing aid and there lead to corrosion of electronic components or other elements. In particular, the membrane precipitates resulting from leaks in the battery, filter out of the air or prevent it from flowing. Thus, in particular the amplifier but also electromechanical components such as handset, microphones, switches and the like can be protected from corrosion.
The membrane is mounted interchangeably in the hearing device. This makes it possible, for example when changing the battery, to change the membrane which is filled or saturated with aggressive substances.
Furthermore, the battery compartment can be pivoted into the housing. Such a battery compartment allows a comfortable replacement of the battery.
In a specific embodiment, the membrane may be fixed in or on the housing. This has the advantage that the membrane can hardly be injured when replacing a battery.
Specifically, the housing may have a frame and the membrane may be attached to the frame. This preserves the protective function of the membrane, even if, for example, the housing shells attached to the frame are replaced.
In an alternative embodiment, the membrane is mounted in or on the battery compartment. An advantage of this configuration is that the membrane can be easily replaced, for example, when unscrewing or pushing out of the battery compartment, as it is then readily accessible.
Furthermore, the membrane may be soft and moldable. This has a favorable effect in particular when the membrane is to be installed behind projections in the housing or battery compartment.
Specifically, the membrane should be acid resistant. By this is meant in particular also that the membrane is resistant to potassium hydroxide solution, ie the aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the membrane is hydrophilic. Such a membrane can contribute to the dehumidification of the air in the hearing device or in the hearing device.

The
The purpose of the
Furthermore, the
As already indicated, the
