Die Schneideinrichtung, bestehend aus den beiden Schneidmessern, der Exzentereinrichtung und gegebenenfalls dem Antriebsmotor, ist hierbei in einem Kopfteil angeordnet, welcher an einem Griffteil festgelegt ist, in welchem sich Bauteile, wie die Stromversorgung in Form einer Batterie, Anzeigeelemente, diverse Schalter und Ladeanschlüsse befinden können. Obwohl bei diesen Vorrichtungen die Haare von den oszillierenden Schneidmessern sehr effizient geschnitten werden, kann es dennoch passieren, dass Haarreste, Hautschuppen und Talg zwischen die flächig aneinander anliegenden Messer geraten und sukzessive in das Innere des Geräts in den Bereich des Exzenters zwischen Kopfteil und Griffteil befördert werden.
