Description

The present invention relates to the field of jewelery, more particularly to a jewelery article comprising a plurality of spherical or quasi-spherical elements (hereinafter spherical element), each spherical element being assembled with at least one other spherical element adjacent by the intermediate of a stem.

Several jewelery articles comprising a plurality of spherical elements, such as beads, assembled to one another by different means are already part of the state of the art.

Publication No. JP7303507 discloses a necklace having a plurality of beads, some of which are provided with two through holes, the latter passing approximately through the center of the bead. The beads are arranged relative to each other via a more or less rigid element in the form of a ring.

Publication No W02005055756 , in turn, discloses in particular a jewelery article comprising an assembly system consisting of associating several spherical elements juxtaposed to each other and held by means of rods passing through bores. Each rod has a spiral spring arranged to allow juxtaposed spherical elements to move away from each other under the action of a force.

US2714269 discloses a jewelery article having a plurality of spherical elements which are connected to each other by a ball-and-socket system. Each spherical element is therefore free to move relative to the adjacent spherical elements that are not integrally united to each other. This results in an "amorphous" collar whose shape varies according to the surface on which it rests.

FR1273608 discloses an element for making necklaces and bracelets consisting of elements in the form of H, X, V or U in which rods of constant section are introduced by driving into spheres. A predetermined interval between adjacent spheres makes it possible to assemble these elements together to form "amorphous" jewelry items.

FR548200 discloses a particular assemblage of balls to obtain a cross. The central ball has two threaded blind holes that are diametrically opposed. Each tapping threadedly receives a rod along which are arranged next to the balls having a through bore, and a ball having a threaded blind bore so that it can be screwed to the end of the rod.

One of the disadvantages of the assembly methods disclosed in these documents arises from the fact that the positioning of the spherical elements relative to each other is limited in space. As a result, the shapes that can be obtained are relatively small.

The object of the present invention is to provide a jewelery article consisting of several essentially spherical elements, the positioning in space of said elements relative to each other being fully controlled in order to obtain the desired shape.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by means of a jewelery article according to claim 1, comprising a plurality of spherical or quasi-spherical elements (hereinafter "spherical element"). Each spherical element has at least one bore whose cross section remains constant along its longitudinal axis and is integrally arranged with at least one adjacent spherical element. The assembly of two adjacent spherical elements is achieved by means of a rod, the latter being inserted on either side into the corresponding bore of each spherical element. The ends intended to be arranged in the corresponding bore have a constant cross section along the longitudinal axis of the rod. Several spherical elements each comprise at least two blind bores. At least two blind bores of at least one spherical element receive by driving or gluing one of the ends of a corresponding rod. The longitudinal axis of each bore is oriented radially with respect to the center of the spherical element, positioning in space adjacent spherical elements on either side of a common spherical element is obtained by the angular orientation in the space of the bores relative to one another. The assembly of each spherical element adjacent to a common spherical element is achieved by driving, or gluing, each rod on either side in the corresponding bores. Each adjacent spherical element having at least two blind bores may be a spherical element common to one or more other adjacent spherical elements. The assembly of all the spherical elements makes it possible to obtain a jewelery article of a desired shape.

The characteristics of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the description of several embodiments of the assembly concept given solely by way of example, in no way limiting, with reference to the schematic figures, in which:
  • The figure 1 represents a front view of a jewelery article comprising several spherical elements,
  • The figure 2 represents a sectional view along the line AA taken on the figure 1 ,
  • The figure 3 represents a perspective view of a main spherical element around which are arranged, by means of rods, several spherical elements of smaller diameters,
  • The figure 4 represents a perspective view of the figure 3 from a different angle,
  • The figure 5 represents a sectional view along the line AA taken on the figure 4 .

According to one of the embodiments of the invention illustrated by the Figures 1 and 2 , the jewelery article comprises a plurality of spherical elements (1) of variable dimensions. These spherical elements (1) are held integral with each other by means of rods (3), each rod (3) being driven from one side to the other in the corresponding bore (2) of each element (1). .

Each bore (2) is made so that its axis is oriented radially towards the center of the spherical element (1). The spatial positioning of the spherical elements (1) relative to each other is thus determined by the angular orientation in the space of the bores (2) relative to each other of each spherical element (1). In this embodiment, the orientation of the bores (2) has been determined in order to position all the spherical elements (1) on a single plane.

The length of the rod (3) and the depth of the bores (2) are determined in order to join two spherical elements (1) or to position them at a certain distance from one another. In the present embodiment, the depth of the bores (2) is about half of the radius of the spherical element (1), the length of each rod (3) having been determined in order to have a certain spacing between each element (1).

The figure 3, 4 and 5 , illustrates another example of the assembly concept displaying a main spherical element (1 ') which comprises a multitude boring (2) whose respective axis is oriented radially relative to the center of this main element (1 '). The peripheral spherical elements (4), of smaller diameter, may have a through bore (2) passing through their center. One of the ends of the rod (3) can thus be housed in one or more other spherical elements (not shown) arranged on a radial axis to the main spherical element (1 ') but separated by at least one spherical element peripheral (4).

It is clear from reading the description and from the figures relating thereto that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above as examples but embraces, on the contrary, all alternative embodiments, the invention being essentially based on the angular orientation of each bore or one relative to the others made in each spherical element, in order to obtain, after assembly of all the spherical elements, the resulting jewelry item.

Thus, each spherical element may comprise from one to a multitude of bores, so that one or a multitude of spherical elements can be contiguous to a single common spherical element.

Moreover, the so-called spherical element may have an imperfect so-called quasi-spherical shape. This is the case when pearls act as spherical elements, pearls almost never having a perfect spherical shape. It is also understood by quasi-spherical element a spherical element comprising a multitude of facets.

The spherical element may just as well be a semi-precious stone. Thus, the jewelery article may, for example, be composed of semi-precious stones alternating with pearls.

In another embodiment, each bore may be tapped and each threaded rod on either side so that the assembly of two adjacent beads can be done by screwing. Bonding the rod within the bores may be another means of assembling the spherical elements.

Finally, it can be envisaged that the rod, intended to solidly join two adjacent spherical elements, is flexible in order to give the jewelery article a certain elasticity.
