Description

The invention relates to access devices for motor vehicles, and more particularly relates to the storage of the emergency key in an identification transmitter of an electronic access device.

In order to prevent unauthorized access to certain objects, such as rooms, vehicles or other systems, in addition to mechanical locking systems increasingly electronic, so-called keyless entry systems are used. Especially in motor vehicles such access systems are used to restrict access to the vehicle interior, such as the passenger compartment, the trunk or other lockable rooms outside of the vehicle but also to the starting system of the vehicle to the authorized group of users.

In these mostly radio-based access systems, the authorized user only has to carry with him an identification transmitter which carries out the authentication of the user via a communication link with the motor vehicle. After successful authentication, the user is usually granted access to the vehicle interior or certain vehicle systems.

In order to allow access to the vehicle and possibly other systems of the vehicle even in case of failure of the electronic access system, one or more mechanical locking devices are usually provided, which can be operated by means of a mechanical key, the so-called emergency key. So that the emergency key is always available in an emergency, emergency keys and identification transmitter of the electronic access system generally form a mechanical unit. The emergency key should be safe be disposed within a housing outwardly delimiting the mechanical unit to prevent damage to eg sensitive surfaces or textiles by the key, and he should be removed without tools from the housing.
Usually, the key can be laterally inserted or pivoted into the housing of the identification transmitter, wherein it can be releasably secured in its end position within the housing by means of a lock. Careless touching or falling of the emergency key receiving the identification transmitter, as well as acting on the housing mechanical shocks, lead to an inadvertent unlocking of the emergency key in the housing with the result that the emergency key is at least partially outside the housing and other things can damage. If the key is inserted into the housing, it may even lead to the loss of the emergency key.
The unit of electronic identification transmitter and emergency key must also be limited to a volume of construction, which allows especially male users to carry the item in clothes bags, without the visual appearance of the clothing is affected by a "bulging" of the bag or the like. This is only possible if the size of the emergency key is limited to what is necessary for its closing function. From the US 2004/085211 and from the JP 2006 132271 For example, a device for storing a key for mechanical locking devices of an electronic access system is known, comprising a base housing and a housing cover, wherein the locking mechanism comprises a hinged connection mechanism. The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a housing for an identification transmitter of an electronic access system, in which the emergency key can be safely stored, which allows a compact version of the emergency key and effectively prevents unintentional falling out of the key. This object is solved by the subject matter of the independent claim.

The invention comprises a device for storing a key for a mechanical locking devices of an electronic access system having a base housing which is adapted to receive the key, a housing cover for covering the key received in the main housing and a locking mechanism for releasably connecting the base housing and the housing cover. The closure mechanism here comprises an articulated connection device and a locking device spaced from the articulated connection device.
The invention enables shock-resistant secure storage of an emergency key within a housing for an identification transmitter of an electronic access system. The design of the housing closure with two connectors prevents inadvertent key release, which could lead to the loss of the key or damage to objects that come into contact with the open key. According to the invention, the articulated connection device preferably comprises a hook on the housing cover and, at a suitable location of the base housing, an opening in its surface, the hook being designed to engage the surface of the base housing at an edge of the opening. Alternatively or additionally, the articulated connection means may also comprise a hook on the base housing and an opening in a surface of the housing cover, wherein in this case the hook is formed for engaging under the surface of the housing cover at an edge of the opening. An accidental falling out of the key is effectively prevented because the articulated Connecting device is designed only for a limited tilt angle of the housing cover.

For securely closing the housing, the locking device expediently has at least one latch, which is designed to engage under a housing edge. A stable and yet easily detachable under gripping the housing edge is preferably achieved with a bolt having an elastic portion and a head end, which is designed to engage under a housing edge. For releasing the undergrip, the locking device conveniently has at least one opening element, which is arranged displaceably against the head end of the bolt. In order for the housing cover to be lifted off the base housing after the unlocking of the locking device caused by loosening of the lower grip, the head end of the lock and the opening element preferably each have a surface which can be brought into contact by displacement of the opening element and which corresponds to the displacement direction of the opening element Opening element are oriented in an angle which causes a distribution of the force exerted on the opening element displacement force with a force component in the direction of the housing edge on contact of both surfaces.

In an advantageous further development, the locking device preferably comprises a spring element for bringing the opening element into a rest position. Further, the locking device may include a handle member for improving the operability, which is adapted to receive a pressure force exerted by a user on it and for forwarding this pressure force in the form of a displacement force on the opening element. In a preferred embodiment, opening element, handle element and spring element are integrally formed in order to realize a cost-effective and easily assembled locking device.

Advantageously, the base housing has a recess for receiving the key, which holds the key within the housing in a stationary position and thus stores it therein. Furthermore, the depression can have an engagement region which adjoins the region for receiving the key and makes possible a simple removal of the key by a user, for example with a finger. For a defined swinging out of the key from the recess, whereby in particular falling out of the key is avoided from this, the recess preferably has an end portion with a cover.

For this purpose, the recess comprises an area which is formed for receiving the key head in an arrangement of the key at a more or less right angle to its storage position in the recess

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a housing 1, which comprises a base housing 2 and a removable housing cover 3. The housing 1 is shown in an open state and shows the in the closable with the housing cover 3 housing opening 4 emergency key 5. The construction of the base housing 2 and the housing cover 3 are preferably coordinated so that the cover 3 in the closed state of the housing. 1 flush with the base housing. Furthermore, the outer surface of the housing cover 3, ie its surface facing outwardly when the housing is closed, may have a decorative element or be prepared for the attachment of a decorative element.

For receiving the emergency key 5, a recess 6 is arranged in the housing opening 4, the side walls extending from the upper surface of the housing opening 4 to the bottom of the recess 6. The defined over the side walls outline geometry of the recess 6 is adapted to the shape of the emergency key 5 that a lateral movement of lying in the recess 6 key is excluded or at least greatly limited. This rattle the emergency key 5 is prevented in the housing.

The vertical geometry of the recess, in particular the profile of its bottom profile relative to the upper surface of the housing opening 4, is adapted to the thickness of the key 5. Preferably, the bottom profile is formed so that the emergency key 5 does not over the upper surface of the housing opening 4 protrudes, so that this surface can be carried out so that it extends to the inner surface of the housing cover 3 with the housing 1 closed. This allows a large-area support of the housing cover 3, which makes the closed housing insensitive to mechanical effects. In the simplest case, the vertical extent of the recess 6 corresponds approximately to the material thickness of the emergency key 5. However, for reasons explained below, the bottom of the recess 6 is designed profiled, so that the emergency keys comes to rest only on one or more partial surfaces of the recess bottom.

In order to enable a simple removal of the emergency key 5 from the recess 6, the outline geometry of the side walls of the depression 6 deviates at least at one point from the lateral outline geometry of the emergency key 5 so that the recess forms at least one trough-shaped region 7 not occupied by the key. This area 7, in order to be able to serve as an engagement 7 for removing the emergency key 5, preferably has no delimitation with respect to the area provided for receiving the key. The lateral dimensions of the engagement are large enough to introduce the tip of a finger. Thus, the emergency key 5 can be easily removed from the recess 6, the engagement 7 is preferably carried out deeper than the emergency key supporting area of the well bottom. A removal of the key 5 from the recess is further facilitated by the fact that the bottom portion of the engagement extends below the emergency key 5, so that this, for example with a fingernail, can be easily under attack.

The Indian FIG. 1 shown emergency key 5 has a key bit 5a for actuating a locking mechanism of the access system and a key head 5b, by means of which a user can operate the key. In the example shown, the key head 5b is transverse to the Formed along the longitudinal axis of the key bit arranged cuboid, resulting in a substantially T-shaped basic shape of the emergency key 5. This form is not mandatory. Instead, the key head, for example, also have a round shape or, for example, consist only in a simple extension of the key bit 5a itself. The in the FIG. 1 However, shown key shape allows greater torque transmission to the key bit 5a, without extending the key 5 substantially beyond the beard length out.

For safekeeping of the emergency key 5 in the interior of the housing 1, the housing 1 has a partial covering 8 of the recess 6 and a special locking mechanism for connecting the housing cover 3 to the base housing 2.

The cover 8 bridges the recess 6 at one end so that an end portion of the key, preferably the free end of the key bit 5a or a part of the key head 5b, comes to lie below the cover when inserting the key in the recess 6. In order to remove the emergency key 5, it must first be pivoted out of the recess 6 with the part not covered, before it can finally be pulled out under the cover. Because the above-described adaptation of the outline geometry of the recess limits the movement of a key received in the recess 6 so far that the key lying in the recess 6 can not be pulled out under the cover.

Prerequisite for a removal or falling out of the key is therefore that above the uncovered end of the key enough free space for swinging out of the emergency key is present. For this purpose, the housing cover 3, as in FIG. 1 is shown, either completely removed from the base housing 2, or a sufficiently large angle thereto assume that pivoting the emergency key 5 from the recess 6 is not hindered.
Therefore, in order to prevent unintentional swinging out of the emergency key 5 from the recess 6, it must be ensured that in an unintentional opening of the housing 1 no space above the coverage-free zone of the recess 6, which is in the example of FIG. 1 the area for receiving the key head is released. For this purpose, a closure mechanism is provided which initially releases the housing cover 3 only in the region of the cover 8 during opening, so that further actuation is required in order to open the cover 3 in the uncovered end region of the recess.
This is achieved by the housing cover 3 in the region of the uncovered end of the emergency key 5 is pivotally connected to the base housing 2. The articulated connection defines a pivot axis, which is arranged approximately at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the recess 6. The longitudinal axis of the recess 6 is given by the line connecting the tip of the beard with the key head of an emergency key 5 inserted into the recess. The execution of the hinged connection forces pivoting of the cover 3 about the pivot axis, whereby a lifting of the cover from the uncovered end portion of the recess is prevented. By limiting the pivoting angle can be additionally prevented that designated as the inner surface or side surface of the cover, ie the side, which is arranged with the housing closed 1 in the interior, always close enough to the non-overlapping end portion of the recess 6 to to make it impossible to swing out the emergency key 5 from this depression. According to the invention, the articulated connection for this purpose, as illustrated in the figures, as a hook-shaped, releasable positive connection executed. The connection comprises one or more hook-shaped projections 9, which are arranged on the inside of the housing cover 3 and corresponding to one or more openings 10 in a surface of the base housing 2, through which the hook-shaped extensions can be guided. The hereinafter referred to as hooks 9 hook-shaped extensions 9 are shaped so that they can engage under the housing wall at the opening edge and allow a small-angle pivotal movement about the undercut opening edge. An example of a corresponding connection is in the sectional view of FIG. 2 presented. The maximum pivot angle of the connection is just chosen so large that can be unlocked just below to be described locking mechanism for closing the cover 3. The pivoting of the housing cover can be accompanied by a slight lateral displacement, so that the pivot axis changes its position when the housing is opened. The embodiment shown in the figures represents only an example of possible hook-realized hinged connections. The number, position and shape of the hooks can also be designed differently. For example, only one hook 9 may be provided, for example, at the end edge of the cover in the head region of the emergency key, wherein the limitation of the pivot angle by means of the hook shape may possibly be effected in conjunction with inner surfaces of the base housing 2 below the opening 10.

In addition to the articulated connection, the locking mechanism of the housing 1 further comprises a locking mechanism, which is arranged at a distance from the articulated connection. As a bolt 11, one or more hook-shaped projections are attached in the inner surface of the cover 3, the material elasticity allow limited movement of their free ends.

The picture of the FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the closed housing 1 in the region of the locking mechanism. In the illustrated embodiment, the housing cover 3 has two bars 1, which are detected by the cross section and are arranged mirror-symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the recess 6. The cover 3 is seated in a recess of the upper shell 2a of the base housing 2. At the free ends of the bolt 11 are thicker than at the adjoining the inside of the housing cover 3 sections. These thickenings form the head ends of the latch 11. Location and design of the latch 11 allow the housing cover the lower inner edge of the upper shell 2a as in the FIG. 3 shown engages with the head ends of the latch 11 and is thereby pressed with a part of its inner surface against corresponding surfaces of the formed in the upper shell 2a housing opening 4.

To open this lock one or more on the underside of the upper shell 2a slidable opening elements 12 are provided, which or can be pressed against the head ends of the bolt or to push them out of the area below the lower inner edge of the upper shell 2a and to release the cover 3 with it. Preferably, the contact surfaces between latch head end and opening element 12 are as in FIG FIG. 3 shown in a corresponding manner with respect to the direction of displacement of the opening element inclined, so that the housing cover is lifted after its release by means of the opening elements 12 of the upper shell 2a.

Preferably, the opening elements 12 are attached to the interior of the housing facing side of handle members 13 which are held by one or more spring elements 14 in a rest position, which causes no opening of the housing cover. An example of a corresponding construction is in the detail of FIG. 4 presented. The illustration shows the locking mechanism from the direction of the lower shell 2b of the base housing 2, not shown here. The two opening elements 12 may be integral with be designed to handle elements and the U-shaped spring element 14 and thus allow a structure of the opening mechanism, which may be inexpensively made of a plastic material, for example. The opening mechanism may be as shown in the picture FIG. 4 may have further design features for other functions of the housing, such as a key ring receptacle, an eyelet or the like.

In order to remove a stored in the recess 6 emergency key 5 from the closed housing 1, a user presses for unlocking the locking mechanism described above on the two handle members 13 whereby the housing cover 3 in the region of the locking pushed away from the base housing and thereby at a small angle the pivot axis of the articulated connection is pivoted. Since the housing cover 3 is now slightly spaced from the base housing, the user can take them in the region of the lock and move so far that the pivot hooks 9 out of the openings 10 and the housing cover can be lifted.

To rotate the emergency key 5, the user can touch it at the head end. The dimensions of the head end are generally kept small so that the housing does not need to be unnecessarily large. As a result, the user can exercise only a small torque on the key, which may not be sufficient, for example, in icy door locks to operate the locking mechanism. The recess 6 is therefore designed in the area for receiving the key head 5b so that the emergency key in the in the FIG. 5 illustrated manner can be inserted in a more or less right angle to its storage position in the recess. In this way, the housing 1 assumes the function of an extended key head which allows a closing operation with a much higher torque.
