Description
Profile
The present invention relates to a profile according to the preamble to appended Claim 1.
Glazing arrangements are becoming increasingly common, and prior art arrangements have proved to suffer from drawbacks in particular as regards cold bridges and similar heat losses. By the use of better and better glass types, with relatively good thermal insulation properties, the demands on the remaining parts of the arrangement will naturally also be increasingly higher, for which reason the obviation or at least reduction of cold bridges becomes a growingly important need and wish in the art.
The task forming the basis of the present invention is to satisfy the above-outlined needs and wishes.
This task is solved by means of the present invention in that the profile disclosed by way of introduction has been given the characterising features as set forth in appended Claim 1.
The present invention realises a profile with a minimum of cold bridge effects. As a result of the present invention, there will be attained further advantages in relation to prior art profiles in that the profile according to the present invention consists of a few substantially identical parts, which are simple to interconnect to make a profile with one or more grooves or roller paths and details and to upper or roof profiles and lower or threshold profiles with associated details and parts.
The present invention will now be described in greater detail hereinbelow with reference to the accompanying Drawings. Fig. 1 shows in perspective an end elevation of an upper profile. Fig. 2 shows in perspective an end elevation of a lower profile.
The embodiments of a profile according to the present invention shown on the Drawings are intended for a window or door section with three sliding window or door units, which are of per se conventional type and which are not shown on the Drawings, but which, in a conventional manner, are provided with upper guide flanges and lower rollers or roller carriages.
The upper profile illustrated in Fig. 1 is mounted on a top or head piece 1 with interlays in the form of a thermally insulating panel or strip 2 of e.g. Styrofoam, and two hoses 3 and 4 of a
suitable sealing material of foamed rubber-like type. The profile is fixed to the upper or head piece 1 by means of screws (not shown).
The profile illustrated in Fig. 1 is built up from two substantially identical intermediate parts 5 and 6, as well as an outer edge portion 7 and an inner edge portion 8. The two intermediate parts 5 and 6 are interconnected to one another via a support web 9, while the intermediate part 5 and the outer edge portion 7 are interconnected to one another via a support web 10, and the intermediate portion 6 is interconnected to the inner edge portion 8 via a support web 11. The support webs 9, 10 and 11 have dovetailed connecting members 12, 13; 14, 15 and 16, 17. These cooperate with dovetailed groove connecting means on the intermediate parts 5 and 6, the outer edge portion 7 and the inner edge portion 8, which is clearly apparent from Fig. 1.
The intermediate parts 5 and 6 have inner C-shaped screw mountings 18 and 19. The outer edge portion 7 also has a C-shaped screw mounting 20. The inner edge portion 8 has a C-shaped screw mounting 21. It is further clearly apparent from Fig. 1 that the inner edge portion 8 consists of two parts, of which the one is interconnected to the support web 11 and the other forms a connection bead or strip AL which is snapped into the other part and thereby displays suitable snap catch means. The outer edge portion 7 also consists of two parts, of which the one is interconnected to the support web 10 and the other forms a connection bead or strip or a top plate OB. Also in this case, the strip has snap fixing means for interconnection with the other part of the edge portion. The support webs 9, 10 and 11 are manufactured from a material displaying poor thermal conductivity, e.g. plastic.
The profile illustrated in Fig. 2 is mounted on a bottom piece 22 in substantially the same manner as the profile described with reference to Fig. 1 , and rests on the bottom piece 22 via two hoses 23 and 24, as well as a panel 25 or strip of thermally insulating material, e.g. Styrofoam. The profile illustrated in Fig. 2 displays three parts 26, 27 and 28 forming roller paths. The part 27 forming a roller path is interconnected with two intermediate parts 29 and 30. The part 26 forming a roller path is interconnected with the intermediate part 29 and an outer edge portion 31. The part 28 forming the roller path is interconnected with the intermediate part 30 and an inner edge portion 32.
The parts 26, 27 and 28 forming the roller paths have dovetailed connecting members 33, 34 and 35. These cooperate with dovetail grooves in the edge portions and intermediate parts, which are also provided with C-shaped screw mountings 36, 37, 38 and 39. The outer edge portion is built
up from two parts, of which the one is interconnected to the part 26 forming a roller path and the other part forms a gutter strip 40 and the parts are interconnected to one another by means of snap catch devices, as is clearly apparent from Fig. 2.
The parts 26, 27, and 28 forming the roller paths are substantially identical and are manufactured from a material displaying poor thermal conductivity, e.g. plastic. The parts 26, 27 and 28 forming the roller paths are provided upwardly with a wear portion 41, 42 and 43 in the form of a tube of, for example, stainless steel, which is placed in a groove-shaped recess in the upper side of the parts 26, 27, 28 forming the roller paths. The groove is advantageously of the snap catch type, so that the tubes are held together on the parts 26, 27 and 28 forming the roller paths.
In certain portions and arrangements, it may be possible to dispense with the wear portions 41, 42, 43. In this case, it may be possible to have parts forming roller paths on the lower profile, identical to the support webs on the upper profile.
The intermediate parts 5 and 6 of the embodiment according to Fig. 1 and the intermediate parts 29 and 30 of the embodiment according to Fig. 2, as well as the edge portions 7, 8 in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 and the edge portions 31 and 32 in the embodiment according to Fig. 2 are provided with support flanges S which abut against the support webs 9, 10 and 1 1 in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 and the parts 26, 27 and 28 forming roller paths in the embodiment according to Fig. 2.
