Claims (9)

  1. Electrical connection device comprising two mating connection elements (1, 2) of which one (2) comprises an external housing (12), and which are each provided with electrical contacts (3; 4a, 4b) designed to co-operate with one another in a connection position, after coupling of said elements (1, 2) through a first relative translation movement, followed by a rotation and a second translation movement, the connection elements being at the end of said rotation in an intermediate resting position in which said elements are temporarily held together, without connection of the contacts, whereas the connection is only established between the contacts of the two connection elements (1, 2) at the end of the second translation movement determining said connection position, characterised in that the mating connection element (1) of the element (2) comprising the external housing (12) is provided with an external flexible tubular seal (13) fixed by one end to said element (1) and provided with at least one front annular stop surface (14) which is designed to co-operate through contact with a mating surface (15) provided on said housing (12) of the other element (2) and which comprises a rigid or semi-rigid ring (11) provided with means ensuring translational guidance in the course of the coupling of the connection elements (1, 2), such that a seal is provided between said connection elements from at least their intermediate resting position to their connection position due to the co-operation of the front annular stop surface (14) of the seal (13) and the mating surface (15) of the housing (12), said seal (13) additionally undergoing folding in the connection position due to the second relative translation movement of the connection elements, whereas said mating surfaces (14, 15) are arranged to allow one to slide over the other in the course of the rotational movement of said connection elements (1, 2).
  2. Electrical connection device according to claim 1, characterised in that the guiding means comprise a sleeve (9) locked to the ring (11) of the seal (13), which slides over a fixed portion (8) of the connection element (1) provided with said seal (13).
  3. Electrical connection device according to claim 2, characterised in that the sleeve (9) additionally comprises an elastic means (10) for returning the seal (13) to the initial extension position.
  4. Electrical connection device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the surface (15) of the housing (12) designed to co-operate with the front surface (14) of the seal (13) is the shape of a truncated cone and grooved.
  5. Electrical connection device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seal (13) is folded like an accordion.
  6. Electrical connection device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seal (13) is arranged to undergo simple folding towards the inside in the course of the connection operations.
  7. Electrical connection device according to claim 6, characterised in that the seal (13) exhibits a circular cylindrical portion (13a) at its end fixed to the corresponding connection element (1), extended by a portion (13b) which is the shape of a truncated cone and terminates in the front annular stop surface (14) forming a shoulder.
  8. Electrical connection device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that mating means (16; 17a, 17b) for rotational guidance and retention of the connection elements in the intermediate resting position are arranged firstly on the end ring (11) of the seal (13) and secondly at the end of the housing, said ring extending beyond the front annular stop surface (14) of the seal and being dimensioned to come at least in part inside said housing (12).
  9. Electrical connection device according to claim 8, characterised in that said mating means for rotational guidance and retention in the intermediate position are of a type with lugs (16) and ramps (17a, 17b), said ramps exhibiting a slope which accentuates the pressure of the front annular stop surface (14) of the seal (13) on the mating surface (15) of the housing (12).
