Definitions
- the invention relates to a contact lens storage and cleaning container formed from two contact lens chambers for each contact lens and a container for receiving the cleaning liquid according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Contact lenses are one of the most widely used visual aids in industrialized countries. They replaced the mostly not so aesthetic glasses by the cornea directly lie, separated only by a thin tear film. Not to be forgotten are the people who, although they have no visual difficulties, but want to change their eye color. Again, this is possible with the help of contact lenses.
- contact lenses There are several types of contact lenses, including the material.
- the initially popular hard contact lenses were replaced by contact lenses, which consist of a flexible, water-storing and air-permeable material. This soft material is many times more pleasing to the eye than the original, harder material. Also, the irritation-free wearing time of the contact lenses has increased very much.
- the daily contact lenses should only be worn for one day and then disposed of
- the monthly contact lenses can be used for up to 30 days and the contact lenses for up to one year. Since the day contact lenses are only worn for one day, it is not necessary to take care of these contact lenses because new contact lenses are used every day.
- the contact lenses which are worn for a long time.
- the tear fluid contains a wealth of other substances that contaminate the contact lenses. So here are the proteins especially to highlight. These accumulate during the wearing time on the resting on the cornea contact lens. This protein attachment provides a good breeding ground for bacteria that can cause infections of the cornea and conjunctiva of the eyes.
- the 2-step plepling system removes protein deposits on the contact lens by hydrogen peroxide, which is split into water and oxygen by a chemical reaction.
- Hydro peroxide H 2 O 2
- Contact with hydrogen peroxide directly with the cornea would lead to severe irritation of the cornea and could even lead to permanent turbidity of the cornea.
- the 1-step care system contains several chemical components that both care for the contact lens and the eyes does not irritate in direct contact.
- the contact lenses are placed in the corresponding contact lens containers for storage and care (usually before bedtime).
- the storage liquid not only leads to the disinfection of the contact lens, but also prevents the contact lens from drying out, which would shrink and dry out within a few hours in a dry environment.
- the following invention is intended to simplify the storage and cleaning of contact lenses by the one-step care system (All-In-One).
- Wearing contact lenses requires their care and cleaning both for the preservation of the contact lenses and as well as for hygienic constraints out. This is sometimes a bit cumbersome because you have to carry both a storage and cleaning container for the contact lenses, as well as a liquid dispenser for the care liquid with it, which is cumbersome especially when traveling.
- the contact lens container usually houses here each a separate contact lens chamber for the right and left contact lens. After inserting the contact lenses in the associated contact lens chambers, the latter are filled with care liquid and sealed with a lid.
- the main solution described is a housing which, in addition to the two recessed contact lens chambers for storing the contact lenses, also has two further contact lens chambers which have a connection to a liquid reservoir integrated in the housing. These 2 additional contact lens chambers are each provided with a pipette, which are intended to transport the cleaning liquid into the contact lens chambers.
- an external "filler” is described, which protrudes from the housing and practically an extension of the Represents liquid reservoir.
- Fortier (US Design 390356) describes a cylindrical structure which has a contact lens chamber for each contact lens at both ends. The center of this structure appears to be the liquid reservoir which, by compression, fills the two contact lens chambers with liquid.
- FR 2 835 751 A1 also a container with liquid reservoir and pump button, wherein the pumping operation is carried out with open chamber lids. A pressure equalization of the contact lens chambers is not provided.
- a disadvantage of the solutions mentioned here is that the pumping process is severely hampered by the existing in the closed contact lens chamber back pressure. This causes the known devices can be filled only with the chamber lid open with a defined amount of liquid.
- the US patent US 4,637,919 to Ryder et al. discloses a disinfection ratio for contact lenses, in which a hydrophobic semipermeable membrane is provided to allow the gas forming during the disinfection process to escape from the container without the disinfectant liquid being able to escape through this membrane.
- This membrane is in this case arranged in a corresponding gas escape hole, has pores of about 0.2 microns in size and is fixed in the plastic housing spanning the bore.
- this tightly clamped in the plastic housing membrane is not suitable to counteract a pressure increase in the housing of the disinfection container by deformation, but should let escape at correspondingly increasing gas pressure in the container of this gas due to its micropores.
- Object of the invention against this background is to improve a device of the type mentioned above so that their handling, especially when filling the contact lens chambers with disinfecting cleaning liquid is facilitated, the contact lens chambers should be filled even when the lid is closed.
- contact lens chambers are closable with detachable chamber lids, in which by means of a flexible cover membrane to the contact lens chamber waterdicut completed a compressible cavity is arranged.
- the contact lens chambers are closed after inserting the contact lenses by a lid.
- the contact lens chambers In order to prevent liquid leakage from the contact lens chambers during transport of the device, the contact lens chambers must be sealed watertight. This tight seal must also persist in the overpressure generated by the pumping process in the contact lens chambers. This is achieved by the serving as a compression zone in the lid cavity, which is separated by a flexible membrane with respect to the lens receiving the remaining contact lens chamber.
- An advantageous design provides in this case that the cover membrane by a compressible cavity arranged spring body is biased against the contact lens chamber. In this way, the pressure required by the pumping process for the filling of the contact lens chambers pressure on the spring body used is adjustable.
- a further advantageous design provides that the cover membrane has a voltage applied to the filling of the contact lens chamber on the chamber cover control section, which is recognizable by a viewing window in the chamber lid.
- the aim here is to make it clear in this way whether the cleaning of the lenses can actually take place in the desired shape.
- the control portion of the lid membrane comes in a defined filling of the contact lens chamber visible to the viewing window in the lid and thus signals the user that the contact lens chamber sufficiently filled and so the contact lens is completely wetted with cleaning liquid.
- This function can also indicate the expiration of the period of use of the device, since it must be assumed in the absence of the desired display in the viewing window that not enough cleaning fluid in the container is present and this must therefore be replaced.
- control portion of the cover membrane as a chamber lid facing recess in the lid membrane may be formed.
- the control section has a clear shape and thus can be positioned accurately in a small viewing window.
- the deformation costs of the cover membrane and the distance to be traced to the viewing window can be reduced and defined.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the liquid reservoir is formed from an upper shell, in which at least the contact lens chambers are arranged, as well as from a tightly connected to the upper shell bottom shell, wherein the enclosed space is filled with cleaning liquid.
- the upper shell also contains the required pump, so that the lower shell is only cup-shaped form. In this case, it is provided to fill the entire interior between the shells with cleaning fluid so as to be able to absorb a maximum of fluid and thus be able to improve the service life.
- a flexible sealing membrane is approximately flat and is connected to the lower shell, that it seals the interior of the liquid reservoir against pressure equalization openings in the lower shell. Accordingly, during the pumping process, liquid is withdrawn from the liquid reservoir, resulting in a negative pressure, which is, however, compensated by a deformation of the sealing membrane. This membrane is thus increasingly deformed over the life of the device towards the upper shell, with air flowing through the pressure equalization openings in the lower shell, which is separated by the elastic sealing membrane of the liquid reservoir. In this way, a safe pumping process can be ensured at all times.
- An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flexible sealing membrane lying approximately flat on the lower shell is arranged peripherally in the connection region between the upper shell and the lower shell and seals this connection region.
- the sealing membrane is thus placed as an intermediate layer between the upper and lower shell and fixed by their connection in the peripheral connection region, for example, a circumferential connector of the shells.
- the thus clamped between the shells sealing membrane causes this in addition due to their elasticity a seal in this connection area. This is necessary to safely avoid leakage of the cleaning fluid at this interface.
- the chamber lid can hereby be connected on one side articulated to the upper shell and be closed and reopened via a latching mechanism.
- the aim here is to make it as easy as possible to open and close the lid.
- the hinged guide on the housing of the container ensures that the lid can not be lost as loose parts and at the same time be safely guided into the closed position, for example, without tilting as small components in the chamber opening.
- a locking mechanism also has the advantage that the closure is achieved by simple pressure in the latching position. Conveniently causes a later renewed pressure on the lid, the triggering of the latching mechanism and thus the opening of the lid.
- the closed chamber lid are also expediently secured against accidental opening by laterally hinged to the upper shell securing bracket.
- these brackets are folded over the lid and locked, so that unintentional opening of the lid by pressure is not possible.
- the liquid inflow from the liquid reservoir into the two contact lens chambers takes place via at least one one-way valve which establishes a connection between the pump and the two contact lens chambers.
- the contents of the liquid reservoir should contain liquid for several weeks.
- the user is spared filling the care liquid from another container into the contact lens chambers by hand; the filling is done simply by pressing a button.
- the shape of the device should be practical, handy and transportable. As a meaningful design is considered the illustrated wafer ellipsoid, about 25 mm thick and 80 mm in diameter.
- the pump 7 is an integral part of the contact lens storage and cleaning container and is arranged together with the 2 contact lens chambers 1 in the upper shell 33 of the device.
- the two contact lens chambers 1 are each sealed with a hinged lid 10.
- this chamber lid 10 is mounted centrally on the upper shell by means of a hinge.
- a securing bracket 37 is provided in the illustrated design, which spans the chamber lid 10 and engages positively with an end recess in a projection on the chamber lid 10.
- the lower shell 34 of the liquid reservoir 2 abuts an impermeable, elastic sealing membrane 35, which surrounds the cleaning liquid with respect to pressure equalization openings 36 in the lower shell 34 and which adjusts itself to the volume of cleaning liquid changing as a result of the pumping process and separates it from the air flowing through the pressure equalization ports 36 into the contact lens storage and cleaning tank.
- the lower shell 34 of the contact lens storage and cleaning container consists of two layers: the hard open shell on the one hand and the flexible sealing membrane 35 on the other.
- the sealing membrane finally comes to rest on the inside of the upper shell 33 of the contact lens storage and cleaning container.
- the free interior of the contact lens storage and cleaning container would be filled with air.
- the contact lens chambers 1 are connected to the liquid reservoir 2 either via a common or each contact lens chamber via a separate one-way valve 20.
- a pumping device 7 liquid is conveyed from the liquid reservoir 2 into the contact lens chambers 1.
- the pumping device 7 consists of a pump button which, when actuated by the user, shifts the associated piston into the associated cylinder, thereby conveying the cleaning fluid out of the cylinder interior.
- the cleaning liquid from the cylinder interior escapes into the contact lens chambers 1 via corresponding connection channels.
- a return of the pump piston to its original position takes place either by a return spring 5 placed in the cylinder interior or via an elastic connection of the pump button to the surrounding housing (for example a rubber compound).
- the chamber lids 10 are basically constructed similar to the liquid reservoir, namely partly rigid (e.g., plastic) and partly flexible (e.g., rubber).
- a flexible lid membrane 15 creates a cavity 18 within the chamber lid 10.
- the cover membrane 15 expands; Air from the cavity 18 is forced out through the small openings in the top of the chamber lid 10.
- the lid membrane 15 takes due to their elasticity and / or due to the restoring force of the spring their original position again In and outside air is taken up by the lid openings in the cavity 18 again.
- the chamber lids 10 of the contact lens chambers are fully or partially transparent so that the user can control the level of liquid in the contact lens chambers after filling them.
- the cover membrane 15 which moves during filling to this window 31 has a control section 32 which makes the degree of filling of the contact lens chambers 1 easily recognizable.
- This control section may expediently be designed as a recess pointing to the chamber cover 10 in the cover membrane 15, which firstly shows itself on the window during the deformation of the membrane and thus indicates the filling of the contact lens chamber.
- the invention is directed to contact lens wearers who use the 1-stage care systems for the care and storage of their contact lenses.
- the invention here consists of the integration of a contact lens storage container in a liquid reservoir.
- the liquid reservoir and the contact lens container are connected directly to each other and separated from each other only by a controllable valve.
- the filling of the contact lens chambers 1 with liquid from the liquid reservoir 2 is effected simply by actuating a pump button 7 built into the device, which leads to the opening of the separating valve 20, which connects the liquid reservoir 2 with the contact lens chambers 1 due to an increase in pressure. Liquid from the liquid reservoir 2 can thereby irreversibly get into the contact lens chambers 1.
- the peculiarity of this invention is that the contact lens wearer for storage and care of his contact lenses 9 requires only a single device that is still very handy and easy to transport. Filling up the contact lens chambers at the touch of a button is easier and more comfortable than previous methods. A "forgetting" of a component, the small storage container or the cleaning liquid container, is no longer possible, because it is now a two-component device.
- the device is due to its flat shape and small size suitable to be carried always and everywhere (eg in the pocket, during sports, in the plane), which the user, compared to the previous methods of contact lens care, an increased level of comfort and independence offers.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a contact lens storage and cleaning container formed from two contact lens chambers for each contact lens and a container for receiving the cleaning liquid according to the preamble of claim 1.
Contact lenses are one of the most widely used visual aids in industrialized countries. They replaced the mostly not so aesthetic glasses by the cornea directly lie, separated only by a thin tear film. Not to be forgotten are the people who, although they have no visual difficulties, but want to change their eye color. Again, this is possible with the help of contact lenses.
There are several types of contact lenses, including the material. The initially popular hard contact lenses were replaced by contact lenses, which consist of a flexible, water-storing and air-permeable material. This soft material is many times more pleasing to the eye than the original, harder material. Also, the irritation-free wearing time of the contact lenses has increased very much.
There are different types of contact lenses daily, monthly and annual contact lenses. The daily contact lenses should only be worn for one day and then disposed of The monthly contact lenses can be used for up to 30 days and the contact lenses for up to one year. Since the day contact lenses are only worn for one day, it is not necessary to take care of these contact lenses because new contact lenses are used every day.
The situation is different with the contact lenses, which are worn for a long time. In addition to water and salts, the tear fluid contains a wealth of other substances that contaminate the contact lenses. So here are the proteins especially to highlight. These accumulate during the wearing time on the resting on the cornea contact lens. This protein attachment provides a good breeding ground for bacteria that can cause infections of the cornea and conjunctiva of the eyes.
Es gibt hauptsächlich zwei Pflegesysteme für Kontaktlinsen: Das Peroxyd-System (2-Stufen-Plegesystem auf Wasserstoffperoxydbasis) und das All-In-One-Pflegesystem (1-Stufen-Pflegesystem).There are mainly two care systems for contact lenses: the peroxide system (2-stage hydrogen peroxide-based ply system) and the all-in-one care system (1-stage care system).
The 2-step plepling system removes protein deposits on the contact lens by hydrogen peroxide, which is split into water and oxygen by a chemical reaction. Contact with hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) directly with the cornea would lead to severe irritation of the cornea and could even lead to permanent turbidity of the cornea.
The 1-step care system contains several chemical components that both care for the contact lens and the eyes does not irritate in direct contact.
Usually the contact lenses are placed in the corresponding contact lens containers for storage and care (usually before bedtime). The storage liquid not only leads to the disinfection of the contact lens, but also prevents the contact lens from drying out, which would shrink and dry out within a few hours in a dry environment.
The following invention is intended to simplify the storage and cleaning of contact lenses by the one-step care system (All-In-One).
Wearing contact lenses requires their care and cleaning both for the preservation of the contact lenses and as well as for hygienic constraints out. This is sometimes a bit cumbersome because you have to carry both a storage and cleaning container for the contact lenses, as well as a liquid dispenser for the care liquid with it, which is cumbersome especially when traveling.
The contact lens container usually houses here each a separate contact lens chamber for the right and left contact lens. After inserting the contact lenses in the associated contact lens chambers, the latter are filled with care liquid and sealed with a lid.
The entrainment of two such containers, namely a storage and cleaning container and a container for the cleaning liquid, which generally have different shapes and sizes, represents an unpleasant but compelling load for the contact lens wearer, since it is on the entrainment of the two containers mentioned above instructed. In addition, the constant transfer of care liquid from the liquid dispenser into the contact lens chambers is due to the small size of these contact lens chambers associated with a certain unintentional loss of care liquid and annoying in the long run.
It is already known as a basic idea to strive for a combination of a contact lens storage and cleaning container with a liquid dispenser. Thus, the transport of the liquid from the dispenser into the contact lens storage and cleaning container takes place inside this one container, for example, by a push of a button. This method would lead to the contact lens-bearing user, especially when traveling, to facilitate and simplify the care and storage process of his contact lenses.
There have already been attempts to combine the care liquid container with the contact lens container so that they do not have to be worn separately or possibly one of the components could be forgotten or lost.

A disadvantage of the solutions mentioned here is that the pumping process is severely hampered by the existing in the closed contact lens chamber back pressure. This causes the known devices can be filled only with the chamber lid open with a defined amount of liquid.
Furthermore, it is disadvantageous that in this way the filling remains a difficult process, since the to be operated for filling, relatively small tools, usually a pump button, must be pressed firmly, making it easy to spill the liquid from the open Contact lens chambers and in the worst case, this may even lead to the contact lenses themselves falling out. If the contact lens is inserted into the filled contact lens chamber only after the filling process, this is also not ideal, since the very light lens is carried by the cleaning liquid. For complete disinfection, therefore, only the complete wetting of the contact lenses must be ensured.
Thus, with the known devices, the actually desired relief in the storage and cleaning of the contact lenses can only be achieved to a limited extent, since handling with open contact lens chambers again requires skill and may result in spilling of the cleaning fluid.
Due to its small diameter of a few millimeters, this tightly clamped in the plastic housing membrane is not suitable to counteract a pressure increase in the housing of the disinfection container by deformation, but should let escape at correspondingly increasing gas pressure in the container of this gas due to its micropores.
Thus, this document can not show the desired relief in the storage and cleaning of the contact lenses, since the handling with open container lid in turn requires skill and can spill the cleaning liquid result.
Object of the invention against this background is to improve a device of the type mentioned above so that their handling, especially when filling the contact lens chambers with disinfecting cleaning liquid is facilitated, the contact lens chambers should be filled even when the lid is closed.
This is achieved according to the invention according to claim 1, characterized in that the contact lens chambers are closable with detachable chamber lids, in which by means of a flexible cover membrane to the contact lens chamber waterdicut completed a compressible cavity is arranged.
The contact lens chambers are closed after inserting the contact lenses by a lid. In order to prevent liquid leakage from the contact lens chambers during transport of the device, the contact lens chambers must be sealed watertight. This tight seal must also persist in the overpressure generated by the pumping process in the contact lens chambers. This is achieved by the serving as a compression zone in the lid cavity, which is separated by a flexible membrane with respect to the lens receiving the remaining contact lens chamber.
This makes it possible to pump liquid into the sealed contact lens chamber, wherein the resistance is significantly reduced by the resulting additional pressure by compression of the air in the separated cavity. Upon entry of liquid into the already sealed contact lens chamber, the flexible membrane attached to the inner side of the cover expands into the cavity.
An advantageous design provides in this case that the cover membrane by a compressible cavity arranged spring body is biased against the contact lens chamber. In this way, the pressure required by the pumping process for the filling of the contact lens chambers pressure on the spring body used is adjustable.
This results in that the amount of cleaning fluid flowing into the contact lens chambers during the pumping process is precisely adjustable in this way, whereby the advantage can be realized to use only a precisely defined amount of cleaning fluid. Thus, it is achieved that the period of use of the pre-filled with a certain amount of cleaning liquid contact lens storage and cleaning container can be significantly extended, since only as much cleaning liquid is used as needed.
A further advantageous design provides that the cover membrane has a voltage applied to the filling of the contact lens chamber on the chamber cover control section, which is recognizable by a viewing window in the chamber lid. The aim here is to make it clear in this way whether the cleaning of the lenses can actually take place in the desired shape. The control portion of the lid membrane comes in a defined filling of the contact lens chamber visible to the viewing window in the lid and thus signals the user that the contact lens chamber sufficiently filled and so the contact lens is completely wetted with cleaning liquid.
This function can also indicate the expiration of the period of use of the device, since it must be assumed in the absence of the desired display in the viewing window that not enough cleaning fluid in the container is present and this must therefore be replaced.
Conveniently, the control portion of the cover membrane as a chamber lid facing recess in the lid membrane may be formed. In this way, a better control of the display in the viewing window is possible because the control section has a clear shape and thus can be positioned accurately in a small viewing window. In addition, the deformation costs of the cover membrane and the distance to be traced to the viewing window can be reduced and defined.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the liquid reservoir is formed from an upper shell, in which at least the contact lens chambers are arranged, as well as from a tightly connected to the upper shell bottom shell, wherein the enclosed space is filled with cleaning liquid. Conveniently, the upper shell also contains the required pump, so that the lower shell is only cup-shaped form. In this case, it is provided to fill the entire interior between the shells with cleaning fluid so as to be able to absorb a maximum of fluid and thus be able to improve the service life.
In order to exclude the formation of a negative pressure in this liquid reservoir thus formed is provided that on the lower shell a flexible sealing membrane is approximately flat and is connected to the lower shell, that it seals the interior of the liquid reservoir against pressure equalization openings in the lower shell.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flexible sealing membrane lying approximately flat on the lower shell is arranged peripherally in the connection region between the upper shell and the lower shell and seals this connection region. The sealing membrane is thus placed as an intermediate layer between the upper and lower shell and fixed by their connection in the peripheral connection region, for example, a circumferential connector of the shells. The thus clamped between the shells sealing membrane causes this in addition due to their elasticity a seal in this connection area. This is necessary to safely avoid leakage of the cleaning fluid at this interface.
The chamber lid can hereby be connected on one side articulated to the upper shell and be closed and reopened via a latching mechanism. The aim here is to make it as easy as possible to open and close the lid. The hinged guide on the housing of the container ensures that the lid can not be lost as loose parts and at the same time be safely guided into the closed position, for example, without tilting as small components in the chamber opening. A locking mechanism also has the advantage that the closure is achieved by simple pressure in the latching position. Conveniently causes a later renewed pressure on the lid, the triggering of the latching mechanism and thus the opening of the lid.
The closed chamber lid are also expediently secured against accidental opening by laterally hinged to the upper shell securing bracket. When the lids are closed, these brackets are folded over the lid and locked, so that unintentional opening of the lid by pressure is not possible.
The liquid inflow from the liquid reservoir into the two contact lens chambers takes place via at least one one-way valve which establishes a connection between the pump and the two contact lens chambers.
The contents of the liquid reservoir should contain liquid for several weeks. The user is spared filling the care liquid from another container into the contact lens chambers by hand; the filling is done simply by pressing a button.

The shape of the device should be practical, handy and transportable. As a meaningful design is considered the illustrated wafer ellipsoid, about 25 mm thick and 80 mm in diameter.

The two contact lens chambers 1 are each sealed with a hinged
The contact lens chambers 1 and the
By pumping liquid from the
Finally, after the cleaning liquid has been completely pumped off, the sealing membrane finally comes to rest on the inside of the
The inflow of the outside air into the contact lens storage and cleaning container as a result of the pumping action (volume displacement) resulting negative pressure, so can take place through the

Via a

Eine flexible Deckelmembran 15 schafft einen Hohlraum 18 innerhalb des Kammerdeckels 10.The chamber lids 10 are basically constructed similar to the liquid reservoir, namely partly rigid (e.g., plastic) and partly flexible (e.g., rubber). In the case of a volume displacement from the
The chamber lids 10 of the contact lens chambers are fully or partially transparent so that the user can control the level of liquid in the contact lens chambers after filling them.
Replacement of the used disposable contact lens storage and cleaning container takes place after the cleaning liquid in it is completely consumed. The pump button would not be able to return to its original position due to the persistent negative pressure (lack of liquid influx into the pump interior) and would therefore remain depressed.
The invention is directed to contact lens wearers who use the 1-stage care systems for the care and storage of their contact lenses. The invention here consists of the integration of a contact lens storage container in a liquid reservoir. The liquid reservoir and the contact lens container are connected directly to each other and separated from each other only by a controllable valve. The peculiarity of this invention is that the contact lens wearer for storage and care of his
The device is due to its flat shape and small size suitable to be carried always and everywhere (eg in the pocket, during sports, in the plane), which the user, compared to the previous methods of contact lens care, an increased level of comfort and independence offers.
