Abstract

The present invention refers to the area of household appliances, in particular built-in ovens and/or cooking ranges, and more particular to built-in ovens and/or cooking ranges having a forced ventilation, said built-in oven and/or cooking range comprising a cooling fan, an air diffuser and an air duct connecting the interior of the oven with the air diffuser. According to the invention, it is provided for that said diffuser (4) encases on the first side thereof said fan (1), said diffuser (4) extends with the first end thereof into a partition panel (3) of the built-in oven, whereas the other end thereof continues as a guide plate (10) vertically spaced from said partition panel (3) and extends at a slight angle in the direction towards the door (7) of the built-in oven. Furthermore, a condensate container (13) is attached on the side facing the partition panel (3) to said guide plate (10), a duct (5) extends into said condensate container (13) from the interior (6) of the oven.

Description

  • The present invention refers to the area of household appliances, in particular built-in ovens and/or cooking ranges, and more particular to built-in ovens and/or cooking ranges having a forced ventilation, said built-in oven and/or cooking range comprising a cooling fan, an air diffuser and an air duct connecting the interior of the oven with the air diffuser.
  • With several known solutions, forced ventilation of built-in ovens and/or cooking ranges consists of a cross-flow fan arranged in a two-part air diffuser. Here, the supporting part of the air diffuser represents the ceiling of the household appliance, said fan being arranged under the ceiling or under the partition panel of the appliance whereby in the latter case said fan being arranged on the upper side of said panel.
  • Another solution of the forced ventilation is designed with an axial fan which is mounted by means of a beam in a two-part air diffuser. The assembly of the upper part and of the lower part of the air diffuser usually represents an independent unit, however, the lower part of the air diffuser may be incorporated into the partition panel of the appliance.
  • Gases and vapours are led in both known solutions as described above from the interior of the oven through openings in the ceiling of the oven into the air diffuser, and via an air duct directly into the air stream created by a cooling fan, said air steam being cooler then said gasses and vapours exhausting from the interior of the oven. Said gases and vapours , mixed with cool air, are exhausted from the household appliance through openings under the front plate at the face of the appliance.
  • It is the object of the invention to create a new household appliance, particularly a built-in oven and/or cooking range, where forced ventilation will be optimally designed.
  • The object as set above is solved according to the invention by a diffuser arranged in the area above a partition panel of a built-in oven, said diffuser encasing a fan on the first side thereof. Said buffer extends with the first end thereof into said partition panel of the built-in oven, whereas it extends with the other end thereof into a guide plate being vertically spaced from said partition panel and running with a slight angle towards the door of the built-in oven. A condensate container is attached to the guide plate on the side facing the partition panel, a duct from the interior of the oven being directed into said condensate container.
  • According to the invention it can be provided for that instead of the condensate container, an intermediate plate is arranged between the partition panel of the built-in oven and the guide plate, said intermediate plate being fixed by means of its longitudinal and upwardly bent edges to the guide plate, thus creating a vent channel. In this case the duct is directed from the interior of the oven to the area between the guide plate and the intermediate plate.
  • In order to achieve suitable ventilation there is provided on the side of the door of the built-in oven and in the face thereof a plurality of openings, said diffuser extending into said openings. An air stream divider is arranged approximately at half the height of a channel created by the partition panel and the guide plate, said air stream divider separates the cooling air stream supplied by the fan to the upper suction stream, and the lower cooling stream.
  • The invention will be more readily understood on reading the following description with reference to the accompanying drawing, where:

  • In order to achieve optimal ventilation, the built-in oven according to the invention comprises a fan 1 being preferably a cross-flow fan, said fan 1 is arranged in the household appliance in the area of a back 2 and above a partition panel 3 of the built-in oven. The built-in oven according to the invention further comprises a diffuser 4 and a duct 5 connecting interior 6 with said diffuser 4. Here, said diffuser 4 is horizontally extensive (Fig. 6) and is placed, when viewed from the front of the household appliance, approximately centric with respect to door 7 of the built-in oven according to the invention and occupies the majority of the width of said door 7.
  • Said fan 1 is encased in a body 8 with said diffuser 4 at the first side thereof, a part of said body 8 comprises a cooling air intake 9, said cooling air being forwarded by the fan 1 along the diffuser 4. Said body 8 of the fan 1 extends with the first end thereof into said partition panel 3 of the built-in oven, whereas it extends with the other end thereof into a guide plate 10 being vertically spaced from said partition panel 3, and slightly angled running in the direction towards the door 7 of the built-in oven. At the side of the door 7 of the built-in oven there is provided a plurality of openings 11, 11', 11" in the face thereof, said openings being arranged in the area of the mouth of the diffuser 4, a air stream divider 12 extending transversally is arranged approximately at half the height of a channel created by the partition panel 3 and the guide plate 10. A condensate container 13 is attached on the side facing the partition panel 3 to said guide plate 10, said duct 5 being directed into said container 13, where said container 13 being closed from all sides except on the side facing the air stream divider 12 where it is open and the outlet 14 of the condensate container 13 extends into the spacing between the guide plate 10 and the air stream divider 12, thus creating a slot 15 between said guide plate 10 and said condensate container 13. According to the invention, it is provided for that the width of the outlet 14 of the condensate container 13 equals approximately the width of the central opening 11' in the face of the oven.
  • During the operation of the built-in oven according to the invention the fan 1 forces the cooling air stream A, which enters through the intake 9 in the body 8, down the diffuser 4, under the condensate container 13 and alongside thereof, so that said air stream exists through the openings 11, 11', 11". Here, the cooling air stream A is separated by means of the air stream divider 12 to the lower air stream 16 exiting the built-in oven directly through all openings 11, 11', 11", and to the upper air stream 17 which, due to the suction effect developed in the slot 15 i.e. between the air flow divider 12 and the condensate container 13, draws the air stream B together with the gases and vapours from the oven through the duct 5 from the interior 6 of the built-in oven and pushes said air stream B into the surrounding through the outlet 14 of the condensate container 13 and via the spacing between the guide plate 10 and the air stream divider 12 through the central opening 11' on the face of the built-in oven. The stream B of the wet air from the condensate container 13 exits through said opening 11' on the face of the oven and on the cushion of the dry cooling air stream A being forced by the fan 1 under the condensate container 13 and alongside thereof. Said cooling air stream A intensively cools down said condensate container 13, thus accelerating condensation of the vapour emanating from the interior of the oven. The condensate evaporates later, over a longer time span.
  • The second embodiment of the built-in oven according to the invention is in essence the same as the first embodiment described above, with the exception that the use of the air stream divider is omitted. Namely, the condensate container 13 extends directly into the area of the central opening 11' on the face of the built-in oven. The fan 1 forces the cooling air stream A only in the spacing between the condensate container 13 and the partition panel 3, whereas the wet air stream B coming from the interior 6 of the oven exits the condensate container 13 in a controlled manner through the opening 11' only on the basis of the excess pressure which originates when moisture evaporates during food processing in the oven interior 6. The wet air stream B from the condensate container 13 exits through said opening 11' on the face of the oven on the cushion of the dry cooling air stream A being forced by means of the fan 1 under the condensate container 13 and alongside thereof. The bottom of the condensate container 13 cools down simultaneously from its lower side and from its upper side resulting in a better condensing effect.
  • The third embodiment of the built-in oven according to the invention provides for a placement of an intermediate plate 18 between the partition panel 3 of the built-in oven and the guide plate 10. Said intermediate plate 18 is attached by means of its longitudinal upwardly bent edges to the guide plate 10, thus creating a vent channel 19. The duct 5 extends from the interior 6 of the oven to the area between the guide plate 10 and the intermediate plate 18. The fan 1 forces the cooling air stream A simultaneously above and under said intermediate plate 18, where the suction effect of the air stream A flowing above the intermediate plate 18 causes the suction of the air stream B which is mixed with the vapours and gases from the oven through the duct 5 from the oven interior 6 and forces it out of the oven through the central opening 11'. The rest of the dry cooling air stream A exits the oven through side openings 11, 11" and under the intermediate plate 18 through the central opening 11'.

Claims (3)

  1. A built-in oven with forced ventilation comprising a cooling fan, an air diffuser and an air duct connecting the interior of the oven with the air diffuser, characterized in that said diffuser (4) encases on the first side thereof said fan (1), said diffuser (4) extends with the first end thereof into a partition panel (3) of the built-in oven, whereas the other end thereof continues as a guide plate (10) vertically spaced from said partition panel (3) and slightly angled extends in the direction towards the door (7) of the built-in oven, and that a condensate container (13) is attached on the side facing the partition panel (3) to said guide plate (10), a duct (5) extends into said condensate container (13) from an interior (6) of the oven.
  2. A built-in oven according to claim 1, characterized in that an intermediate plate (18) is arranged between the partition panel (3) and the guide plate (10) being fixed by means of its longitudinal and upwardly bent edges to the guide plate (10), thus creating a vent channel (19), whereas the duct (5) extends from the interior (6) of the oven to the area between the guide plate (10) and the intermediate plate (18).
  3. A built-in oven according to claim 1, characterized in that a plurality of openings (11, 11', 11") is provided on the side of the door (7) and in the face of the built-in oven, the diffuser (4) extends into said openings (11, 11', 11"), whereby an air stream divider (12) is arranged approximately at half the height of a channel created by the partition panel (3) and the guide plate (10).
