- Such bookbinding machines e.g. Perfect binders, used for the production of hard-bound booklets or book blocks for hard covers, wherein the folded sheets and / or single sheets are combined to form a book block by applying an adhesive to the previously processed block back.
- the possible binding methods and the product variants depend on the machine equipment. This consists essentially of the functional units book block transport system, book block insertion station, back processing, back gluing, intermediate drying, side gluing, back reinforcement, creating an envelope, pressing the envelope and drying.
- the DE 20 2005 007 012 U1 shows such a bookbinding machine with a book block transport system.
- the book block transport system consists of conveyors running around deflection wheels and a plurality of staples clamped in a same spaced mutual distance thereon for clamping sheet stacks.
- roller chains with individually movable interlocking members are used as conveying means.
- the chains serve to drive the brackets.
- the slabs are guided by guideways firmly connected to the machine frame of the bookbinding machine.
- each bracket has a plurality of rollers, which roll on the running surface of the guideway.
- a disadvantage of such bookbinding machines is that the chains and the chain guides are subject to very high wear. This requires a stable construction, ie high moving masses. The drive of the staples through the chain causes a non-uniform motion profile of the chain and vibration input due to the so-called polygon effect. If the chain and thus the brackets and book blocks stopped in an emergency stop, so it happens jerkily. Another disadvantage is that it is not possible to eject faulty book blocks. Another disadvantage is that the Speeds of workstations must be adapted to the speed of the chain with the brackets. Thus, no ideal for the respective machining process speeds can be selected. That is, the speeds of the workstations can not be individually optimized, but are rather dependent on the chain speed. This in turn determines the performance of the perfect binder.
- the DE19722376 A1 relates to a sheet transport system for a rotary printing machine, which can be used in sections of the printing press.
- the sheet transport system has a transport device with sheet holding means designed as a gripper, which serve to transport individual printed sheets.
- Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a bookbinding machine, which overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages.
- An inventive book binding machine for the production of printed products has individually driven processing stations, such as spine processing station, glue application station, cover feeder and pressure station. These are connected by a transport system which has a plurality of clamps for clamping book blocks, sheet stacks or collected signatures, wherein the clamps are driven individually and guided on a guideway.
- the brackets are driven in an advantageous manner by traveling wave motors, ie linear motors or servomotors.
- the transport system of the bookbinding machine has a control unit for controlling the speeds of the respective brackets.
- each clip can be moved at its own speed on the guideway.
- the speeds of the staples are controlled depending on the position of the staple within the bookbinding machine. This allows the clamp to move faster in processing stations and faster in pure transport routes.
- each processing station and the associated processing tools have an optimal processing speed.
- processing stations must be operated in synchronism with the processed book blocks.
- the inventive control of the speeds of the respective brackets and the control of the speed of a machining tool of a respective processing station gives rise to the possibility of increasing the synchronization window of the tool and book block. As a result, a larger time window is available for processing and the processing can be carried out more accurately.
- the speed may be controlled depending on the product thickness.
- the speed can be reduced for the exact processing of thick books in the spine processing station.
- Another parameter may be the viscosity of the adhesive processed in the glue application station.
- the control unit allows the staples to be stopped individually. If a faulty processing occurs at a certain position within the bookbinding machine, the clip can be stopped immediately with the respective book block.
- the staples which have already passed through this processing station, are further transported by the subsequent processing stations of the bookbinding machine, so that their book blocks can be processed waste-free finished.
- Subsequent brackets which have not yet passed through the processing station, are also stopped. However, if brackets which are in a processing station at the moment of stopping are under these brackets, the processing of the respective book blocks in the processing stations is completed as far as possible and the respective brackets are subsequently stopped.

Description
The invention relates to a bookbinding machine according to the preamble of claim 1.
Derartige Buchbindemaschinen, z.B. Such bookbinding machines, e.g. Perfect binders, used for the production of hard-bound booklets or book blocks for hard covers, wherein the folded sheets and / or single sheets are combined to form a book block by applying an adhesive to the previously processed block back. The possible binding methods and the product variants depend on the machine equipment. This consists essentially of the functional units book block transport system, book block insertion station, back processing, back gluing, intermediate drying, side gluing, back reinforcement, creating an envelope, pressing the envelope and drying.
According to the prior art, preferably roller chains with individually movable interlocking members are used as conveying means. The chains serve to drive the brackets. However, the slabs are guided by guideways firmly connected to the machine frame of the bookbinding machine. For this purpose, each bracket has a plurality of rollers, which roll on the running surface of the guideway.
A disadvantage of such bookbinding machines is that the chains and the chain guides are subject to very high wear.

Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a bookbinding machine, which overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages.
This object is achieved by a bookbinding machine with the characterizing features of claim 1.
An inventive book binding machine for the production of printed products, such as books, magazines and brochures, has individually driven processing stations, such as spine processing station, glue application station, cover feeder and pressure station. These are connected by a transport system which has a plurality of clamps for clamping book blocks, sheet stacks or collected signatures, wherein the clamps are driven individually and guided on a guideway. The brackets are driven in an advantageous manner by traveling wave motors, ie linear motors or servomotors.
In this case, the transport system of the bookbinding machine has a control unit for controlling the speeds of the respective brackets. Thus, each clip can be moved at its own speed on the guideway.
In addition, the speeds of the staples are controlled depending on the position of the staple within the bookbinding machine. This allows the clamp to move faster in processing stations and faster in pure transport routes.
More generally, each processing station and the associated processing tools have an optimal processing speed. As a rule, processing stations must be operated in synchronism with the processed book blocks. The inventive control of the speeds of the respective brackets and the control of the speed of a machining tool of a respective processing station gives rise to the possibility of increasing the synchronization window of the tool and book block. As a result, a larger time window is available for processing and the processing can be carried out more accurately.
In another embodiment, the speed may be controlled depending on the product thickness. Thus, the speed can be reduced for the exact processing of thick books in the spine processing station. Another parameter may be the viscosity of the adhesive processed in the glue application station.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the bookbinding machine, the control unit allows the staples to be stopped individually. If a faulty processing occurs at a certain position within the bookbinding machine, the clip can be stopped immediately with the respective book block. The staples, which have already passed through this processing station, are further transported by the subsequent processing stations of the bookbinding machine, so that their book blocks can be processed waste-free finished. Subsequent brackets, which have not yet passed through the processing station, are also stopped. However, if brackets which are in a processing station at the moment of stopping are under these brackets, the processing of the respective book blocks in the processing stations is completed as far as possible and the respective brackets are subsequently stopped. The ability to individually stop and control the staples significantly reduces paper waste.
In a further advantageous development of the invention, the guideway of the transport system has at least one diverter for discharging and at least one second diverter for introducing staples with two guide track sections located therebetween. In the area of at least one of the guideway sections, one or more processing stations may be located, e.g. B. a dicing saw for the multi-benefit production. Alternatively or additionally, in the region of at least one guideway section there may be a device for discharging book blocks which are subject to waste.
In a further advantageous and therefore preferred embodiment, the bookbinding machine has a machine control for controlling the synchronization of a respective clamp of the transport system in the region of a processing station and the corresponding processing station or its tool. This control thus intervenes both in the individual drives of the processing stations and in the control unit of the transport system.
With regard to further advantageous embodiments of the invention, reference is made to the dependent claims and the description of an embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings.
