Claims (10)

  1. Item of clothing (1) for a person wishing to carry a newborn baby or baby between their upper body and the item of clothing, characterized in that it comprises:
    - a piece of fabric (10) intended to surround the person's bust and having, at its upper part, an asymmetric shape (11) so that it can cover one of the person's shoulders (2; 3) and leave the other shoulder (3; 2) uncovered, the piece of fabric (10) having an upper neckline (13), intended to allow all or part of the head (6) of the newborn baby or baby to protrude therefrom and to extend from the upper part of the covered shoulder (2; 3) to the underarm of the other shoulder (3; 2), and
    - a belt (30) intended to be tied more or less at waist level around the person so as to prevent the newborn baby or baby from slipping out of the bottom of the clothing item.
  2. Item of clothing according to Claim 1, characterized in that the belt (30) is stitched to the piece of fabric (10) along a lateral seam region (35) extending from the waist as far as the underarm on the same side, and comprises:
    - a first strip of fabric (32) designed to be crossed firstly over the front of the person, as far as the opposite shoulder (2; 3) to the said underarm, then across the back, from the said shoulder (2; 3) at least as far as the lateral seam region (35), and
    - a second strip of fabric (34) intended to go around the person's waist, the two free ends of the strips of fabric (32, 34) being tied around the person's waist, preferably on the opposite side to the lateral seam region (35).
  3. Item of clothing according to Claim 1, characterized in that it comprises another piece of fabric (20) independent of the first piece (10) and having, at its upper part, an asymmetric shape (21) that is the opposite of that of the first piece (10) and a neckline (23) intended to allow all or part of the head (6) of the newborn baby or of the baby to protrude therefrom and to extend from the upper part of the shoulder (2; 3) that is not covered by the first piece to the underarm of the shoulder (3; 2) that is covered by the first piece of fabric (10), the two pieces of fabric (10, 20) being superposed on one another to hold the newborn baby or baby.
  4. Item of clothing according to Claim 3, characterized in that the first piece of fabric (10) is placed under the other piece (20) in such a way that each shoulder (2; 3) is covered by one of the two pieces of fabric.
  5. Item of clothing according to Claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the upper necklines (13, 23) of the two pieces of fabric (10, 20) are intended to cross one another at the middle of the person's upper body.
  6. Item of clothing according to any one of Claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the neckline (13, 23) of each piece of fabric (10, 20) is rounded at least on the side of the person's chest.
  7. Item of clothing according to any one of Claims 3 to 6, characterized in that the belt (30) is attached to at least one of the two pieces of fabric (10; 20), for example to one side thereof.
  8. Item of clothing according to any one of Claims 3 to 7, characterized in that the first piece of fabric (10) is a dress while the other piece (20) extends substantially from the person's neck to her waist.
  9. Item of clothing according to any one of Claims 3 to 8, characterized in that it constitutes a two-part wrap-over top.
  10. Item of clothing according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is made of a fabric that is elastically deformable at least in the front part thereof that covers the person's chest and has a longitudinal and transverse elongation ratio of at least 50% and preferably in excess of 100%.
