Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrical switch, suitable for use in a particularly severe environment.
- the invention also relates more specifically to an electrical switch, more particularly intended for a motor vehicle.
- An electrical switch is used to perform electrical activation of a given function. Depending on the function performed, these may be contactors that establish an electric current when they are actuated, breakers that cut an electric current when they are actuated, or inverters that switch two electric currents depending on whether they are in their state of rest or their switched state.
- Switches are used for servitude controls in the passenger compartment.
- switches are used for power windows, hazard warning lights, seat positioning, sunroof, car radio, trip computer, console controls, interior lighting, and even more.
- Switches are subject to significant endurance constraints. In some cases, they undergo 100,000 cycles to more than 2 million cycles of use. In addition, they are located in areas highly exposed to dust and sunshine. For example, these areas with a particularly severe environment are the steering wheel area, the top of the steering column, the dashboard top, the side panel strip, the quarter panel, and so on.
- An electrical switch includes a switch with a contactor.
- the contactor provided is a moving part in a linear translation movement. The switch thus switches from a rest position to a switching position and vice versa, under the action of a manual control actuator or push button, actuated by the user.
- a rubbing cleaning contact is usable, if and only if the current flowing through the closed circuit switch is greater than 100 mA.
- a striking contact or waterproof rubbing IP 5 or higher is usable the current flowing through the closed circuit switch is less than 100 mA.
- a main problem to be solved by the invention is to develop an electrical switch for a motor vehicle. Another problem is that of optimizing a switch, more particularly intended to operate in a hostile environment.
- the invention therefore relates to an electrical switch, of the type comprising an electric switch with contactor, passing from a rest position to a switching position and vice versa by linear translation, and held on a support, and a manual control actuator of the switch activating the contactor.
- the switch is characterized in that it comprises means for compensating a dimensional clearance existing between an upper face of the switch in the switching position of the electric switch in engagement with the manual activator and an upper surface of the support on which the electrical switch is mounted.
- the means for compensating the dimensional clearance may comprise an upper lug protruding from the upper surface of the support.
- the upper lug may engage an upper surface of the electrical switch.
- This electrical switch can then be inserted between the upper lug and the upper surface of the support.
- This upper leg is a first system for holding the electrical switch.
- the means for compensating the dimensional clearance may comprise a mechanical stop protruding from the upper surface of the support.
- the mechanical stop may be able to block any movement of the manual activator engaged with the upper face of the contactor in the switching position of the electric switch. The movement of the manual activator can not go beyond a predetermined distance necessary to obtain a switching position.
- the mechanical stop may be formed by the upper lug.
- the means for compensating the dimensional clearance may comprise a lower tab forming a spring projecting from the upper surface of the support.
- the electric switch can be mounted on the lower leg.
- This lower leg is a second system for holding the electrical switch. By its spring function, the second leg can help mitigate dimensional differences that may occur when mounting the switch on the support and during its use.
- a rib can be placed between the lower leg and the upper surface of the support.
- the length of the rib can be used to adjust the rigidity of said lower leg.
- the electrical switch can be advantageously soldered to an electronic circuit board. The presence of a stack including the electronic card requires all the more the presence of play catching means.
- the switch may comprise an axis of rotation, intended to rotate the manual activator relative to the support, from the rest position to the switching position of the electrical switch engaged with the upper face of the contactor and vice versa.
- the activation of the switch operating with a rectilinear sliding is carried out by a pivoting pushbutton. The risks of axial misalignment between the manual activator and the electric switch are minimized.
- the angle formed between a normal to an activation surface of the manual activator and a normal to the upper face of the contactor may be substantially between 0 ° and 2 °. An angular tolerance thus exists between the activation surface and the upper face of the contactor, facing one another.
- the switch may include a spring placed between the holder and the manual activator. The spring also serves as a reminder for the return of the manual activator to a rest position.
- an electrical switch (1) comprises a "switch” or switch (2), in the form of a striking contact or rubbing waterproof.
- the electric switch (2) is of integrated component type. It is fixed thanks to welds (3) on an electronic card (4), also known as the "Printed Circuit Board” (PCB).
- PCB printed Circuit Board
- a welded wire harness (6) provides the electrical connection.
- the switch (2) comprises a contactor (7) movable between two positions.
- the switch (7) has an upper face (8) engaging with a lower surface of a manual activator (9).
- a manual activator (9) When the user presses (Arrow P in Figure 2 ) on the activator (9), the latter moves (arrows M in Figure 2 ), and its activation surface (11) comes into contact with the upper face (8) of the contactor (7) and then pushes in (Arrow T in Figure 2 ) this last.
- Activation of the switch (2) is performed by the activation surface (11) arranged in a plastic part forming the activator (9), pivoting on a support (13).
- the maximum angle ( ⁇ ) between the normal (N) of the activation surface (11) and the upper face (8) of the contactor (7) is 2 degrees.
- the electronic card (4) comprising the welded switch (2) is fixed, for example by two longitudinal fasteners or retaining clips (14) on the support (13), deploying from its upper surface (17).
- the support (13) is made of a polymeric material.
- the switch (1) comprises means for catching dimensional clearances occurring at the upper face (8) of the switch (7) of the switch (2).
- the support (13) incorporates a lateral rib, acting mechanical stop (16), deploying from the upper surface (17).
- the mechanical stop (16) protects the switch (2) and the card (4) during sudden activation (P) of the activation surface (11), greater than a force of 4 N at the activation point. Due to the presence of the stop (16) forming means of catching the play, the distance (b) between the upper face (8) of the switch (7) in its depressed switching position (shown in dashed lines in FIG. Figure 1 ) and the upper surface (17) of the support (13).
- a spring (18) can be added between the support and the activation surface to obtain tactile sensations (stroke and effort) at the moment of activation.
- the switch (1) comprises means for catching dimensional clearances occurring at the upper face (8) of the switch (7) of the switch (2).
- the mechanical stop (16) avoids the aggression of the components, therefore of the switch (2).
- the stop (16) further comprises a lateral member forming a tab (19) extending substantially parallel to the support (13) from the stop (16).
- the tab (19) is positioned above the upper surface (20) of the switch (2).
- the dimension (b) between the upper face (8) of the contactor (7), in its depressed switching position (shown in dotted lines in the Figure 2 ) and the upper surface (17) of the support (13) is held by the upper surface (21) of the tab (19).
- the lower surface of the activator (9) abuts against the upper surface (21) of the tab (19), which prevents the contactor (7) to be depressed beyond a predetermined limit.
- the tab (19) cash overreaction activation.
- the lug (19) plays the role of catching clearance by allowing to wedge the switch (2) against the support (13). Indeed, the switch (2), its welds (3) and the electronic card (4) are interposed between the lower surface of the tab (19) and the upper surface (17) of the support (13). The distance (b) thus remains constant.
- Additional means are planned to catch up with the game, absorbing the dispersions of the components, by a tab or plastic blade acting as a spring (22).
- This blade (22) deploys from the upper surface (17) of the support (13).
- the electronic board (4), with its welded switch (2), is mounted on the blade (22).
- the rigidity of the blade (22) is controlled by the presence of an underlying rib (23).
- the rib (23) is formed between the upper surface (17) of the support (13) and the lower face of the blade (22). The length of the rib (23) makes it possible to adjust and obtain different stiffness values for the blade (22).
- the height (a) existing between the upper surface (17) of the support (13) and the blade (22) makes it possible to keep the dimension (b) constant, regardless of the thickness (c) of the electronic card stack ( 4), welds (3) and switch (2). For reasons of initial manufacture and subsequent assembly, this distance (c) is difficult to control and is overtaken by the elasticity of the blade (22).
- the distance (b) remains constant. This distance (b) allows the contactor (7) to be always depressed to an identical depth, regardless of the conditions of already endured cycles, temperatures and dirt contamination. Activation of the electrical function is guaranteed up to 85 ° C. Between 85 ° C and 105 ° C, the function is not guaranteed but there is no irreversible degradation of functions.

Description
Figure 1 ) et la surface supérieure (17) du support (13).
