- the ribs 13 and 14 of the first and second half-sleeves thus constitute complementary reliefs which fit into each other when the second half-sleeve 12 is folded over the first half-sleeve 11, to surround it, as this is the case in Figures 4 to 6 .
- the hollow portions 18 of the second half-sleeve 12 in the figure 2 are relief portions 19 in the figure 5 because the face of the second half-sleeve 12 which is visible in figure 5 is the opposite face to that visible in figure 2 , because this half-sleeve is folded in the figure 5 while unfolded in figure 2 .
- This rigidity allows the sleeve to remain alone around the ankle and calf, without the need to provide elastic means to maintain its position.
- Maintaining the sleeve in position around the ankle and calf is ensured by its rigidity thanks to which it spontaneously retains a cylindrical general shape devoid of pleating. This rigidity thus prevents the pleating of the sleeve, so that it does not descend along the calf and / or the ankle.
- the second half-sleeve 12 has a length, along the axis AX which is substantially two-thirds of the length of the first half-sleeve 11.
- the use of this sock consists first to put on as shown on the figure 1 and then folding the second half-sleeve 12 on the first half-sleeve 11.
- the resulting sleeve 4 has its upper edge which is defined by the junction of the two half-sleeves 11 and 12.
- the complementary hollows and reliefs of the two half-sleeves 11 and 12 are formed by ribs 13, 14 extending along the main direction AX, but these ribs can also be inclined, that is to say ie to extend helically on each half-sleeve.
- the helical winding direction of the ribs of the first half-sleeve is opposite to the helical winding direction of the ribs of the second half-sleeve so as to define complementary hollows and reliefs capable of fitting into each other. other.
- the complementary hollows and reliefs which are rectilinear ribs in the example of the figures may also be in the form of zigzag patterns, or any other design, provided that they define reliefs which are complementary between the first and the second half-sleeve, so as to fit into each other to ensure a simple and effective cohesion of the first and second half-sleeve.
- the sleeve of the sock according to the invention can also be made from two thicknesses of fabric secured to one another by one or more customs. But this sleeve can still be made from one or more thicknesses of reinforced fabric by one or more stiffening elements such as nylon threads having a relatively large diameter and extending in the direction AX.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sock comprising a foot and a sleeve or rod extending this foot, this sock being intended to be worn by a person, so that the foot of the sock surrounds the foot of the person and that the sleeve surrounds the foot. ankle and a lower part of that person's calf.
The sleeve is all the better maintained that the elastic portion strongly tightens the calf, so it is necessary that the upper partite of the sleeve is very elastic, so as to ensure a satisfactory maintenance.
It follows that the elastic portion of the sleeve exerts a constraining force, or contention, which disrupts the blood circulation in the ankle and / or calf, which causes an uncomfortable sensation favoring in particular the appearance of varicose veins.
The object of the invention is to provide a sock in which the sleeve is held in position around the calf and the ankle without producing a significant compression effect.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a sock, comprising a foot and a sleeve or rod extending the foot, characterized in that the sleeve has a greater rigidity than the foot, this rigidity ensuring the maintenance of the sleeve when the sock is worn by a person.
The rigidity of the sleeve allows it to be held in position around the ankle and calf, preventing it from descending, without this sleeve strongly ankle. The sleeve may for example be designed without elastic element, so that it exerts no effort of contention on the ankle and / or the calf. This sleeve can also be designed with very little elasticity, this low elasticity ensuring only that the sleeve is supported on the ankle and / or the calf that surrounds.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the sleeve is made of a fabric reinforced by one or more stiffening elements, such as nylon threads, extending parallel to a main direction of the sleeve.
These stiffening elements may be in the form of nylon threads having a diameter of the order of half a millimeter, extending parallel to the main direction of the sleeve being secured and / or integrated with the fabric in which the sleeve is made.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the sleeve is formed by at least two layers of fabric secured to one another by at least one seam.
The seam or seams greatly increase the rigidity of the sleeve by prohibiting a relative sliding movement of a fabric thickness on the other. The two thicknesses of fabric secured to one another and thus have a rigidity much greater than that of two superposed fabrics and free to slide on one another.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, in which the sleeve comprises a first half-sleeve extending the foot, and a second half-sleeve extending the first half-sleeve, the second half-sleeve being intended to be folded on the first half-sleeve, and in which the half-sleeves are provided with patterns forming hollows and reliefs complementary fitting into each other when the second half-sleeve is folded over the first half-sleeve.
The sock can thus be made analogous to a conventional sock by providing only complementary patterns able to fit into each other to prevent slippage of one half-sleeve on the other.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the complementary hollows and reliefs are formed by ribs located at the first half-sleeve and at the second half-sleeve.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the first and second half-sleeves each comprise a plurality of ribs parallel to each other and extending helically.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the first and second half-sleeves each comprise at least one rib defining a zigzag pattern.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, in which the first half-sleeve and the second half-sleeve each comprise a plurality of parallel rectilinear ribs oriented in a main direction of the sleeve and spaced from one another not even, and in which the ribs of the second half-sleeve are offset by half a step from the ribs of the first half-sleeve.
The invention also relates to a sock as defined above, wherein the sleeve is made of knitted wool.

This interlocking of recesses and complementary reliefs ensures a simple and effective cohesion of the two half-sleeves. These two half-sleeves thus constitute a single sleeve 4 formed of two thicknesses secured to one another by interlocking, which forms a sleeve having a high rigidity.
This rigidity allows the sleeve to remain alone around the ankle and calf, without the need to provide elastic means to maintain its position.
Maintaining the sleeve in position around the ankle and calf is ensured by its rigidity thanks to which it spontaneously retains a cylindrical general shape devoid of pleating. This rigidity thus prevents the pleating of the sleeve, so that it does not descend along the calf and / or the ankle.
In the example of the figures, the complementary hollows and reliefs of the two half-
The complementary hollows and reliefs which are rectilinear ribs in the example of the figures may also be in the form of zigzag patterns, or any other design, provided that they define reliefs which are complementary between the first and the second half-sleeve, so as to fit into each other to ensure a simple and effective cohesion of the first and second half-sleeve.
The sleeve of the sock according to the invention can also be made from two thicknesses of fabric secured to one another by one or more customs. But this sleeve can still be made from one or more thicknesses of reinforced fabric by one or more stiffening elements such as nylon threads having a relatively large diameter and extending in the direction AX.
The sock according to the invention thus makes it possible to reduce the effect of fatigue as well as in particular the risk of varicose veins.
This sock design ensures a feeling of freedom, well being and lightness.
