Description

The present invention relates to the field of bins or trays foldable material such as plastic allowing particular non-unique use.

For the transport of parts between different workshops of a plant are usually used parallelepiped shaped bins that are circulated by shuttle. Once the pieces have reached their destination, they are often required to return the empty bins to the shipping shop to fill them again. To be suitable for such use, this type of tray has several characteristics. It is made of a sufficiently strong and rigid material to withstand heavy loads, as well as handling shocks without deformation or tearing. It is dirt resistant and needs to be cleaned. It is light so that one does not have to carry useless masses. Moreover, since its use involves empty transport phases, it is desirable that it be foldable so as to reduce its volume.

The use of plastic bins is now widespread. They are light, inexpensive, and can be used for many applications. These bins are generally parallelepiped shaped, and have a bottom panel and side walls erected relative thereto, formed of panels hinged together.

A tray of the prior art is illustrated by the patent BE-A-6592426 which describes a foldable tray whose bottom wall and the side walls are each formed of a rigid cade supporting a panel. The frames of the side walls are connected to the frame of the bottom wall by flexible fasteners.

The present invention relates to an improved collapsible tray compared to the products of the prior art.

The foldable container of the invention comprises a bottom wall and side walls, the side walls being movable between a position erected with respect to the bottom wall and a folded position, inclined flat with respect to the bottom wall, at the at least two side walls being formed of a rigid frame supporting a panel, said frame being hinged along the bottom wall. It is characterized in that the frames of the side walls comprise a first section fixed to the bottom wall by a flexible coupling forming a hinge between the first section and the bottom wall, the bottom wall comprises second sections along its length. edges, and first sections are guided along the second sections and fixed thereto by said flexible fastener, the first and second sections being coextruded with the flexible fastener.

Thanks to the invention, a bin combines lightness and strength. The frame provides rigidity of the wall and allows a recovery of vertical loads by the bottom of the tray. We can thus stack the bins on a great height. For the side walls, the frame can support a light panel formed of a plastic plate. Advantageously, it may be a cellular plate, such as that marketed by the applicant under the trademark Akylux, formed of two cover sheets interconnected by parallel partitions and forming longitudinal cells.

More particularly, all the frames and panels can be formed of plastic materials that can be recycled.

The frame forming the side walls preferably comprises at least one third section bearing on the bottom wall when the side walls are rectified.

According to another feature, the bottom wall comprising corner reinforcing parts, the third sections are supported on said reinforcements in the upright position. More particularly, the bottom wall is also formed of a frame with profiles holding between them one or more bottom panels.

According to another feature, the sidewalls comprise a pairwise locking means for maintaining the sidewalls in the upright position.

  • Les figures 1 à 4 montrent le bac de l'invention dans quatre états depuis le bac en volume jusqu'à son état à plat ;
  • La figure 5 montre le détail d'une charnière entre les premiers les deuxièmes profilés ;
  • La figure 6 montre en perspective le détail du verrouillage entre deux parois latérales adjacentes ;
The tray of the invention is now described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating a non-limiting embodiment, and on which
  • The Figures 1 to 4 show the tray of the invention in four states from the tray volume to its flat state;
  • The figure 5 shows the detail of a hinge between the first the second sections;
  • The figure 6 shows in perspective the detail of the lock between two adjacent sidewalls;
  • Figure 7 is a section along the 6-6 direction of the figure 6 .

As we see on the figure 1 , the tray 1 comprises a bottom wall 2 and four side walls 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively. The side walls transverse 4 and 6 on the short sides of the tray, are formed of a frame 40 and 60 supporting a panel 45 and 65 respectively. The longitudinal side walls 3 and 5 comprise in this example two profiles 31 and 33 for one and 51 and 53 for the other. The panels 35 and 55 are retained between the two sections. Each frame is composed of interconnected sections: 41, 42, 43, 44 for the frame 40 and 61, 62, 63, and 64 for the frame 60. In another embodiment, not shown, the side walls are formed of four frames.

The bottom wall is here also composed of a frame 20, with its four sections 21, 22, 23 and 24, retaining by appropriate slides a panel 25. The panels are preferably of light but rigid material such as the honeycomb plates of the Akylux brand.

Le premier profilé 31 pivote autour d'un axe le long du deuxième profilé 21 de la paroi de fond 2The figure 2 shows how the wall 3 is articulated along the edge of the bottom wall 2. The four walls 3, 4, 5 and 6 here articulate in the same way along the edges of the bottom wall 2. section 31 rotates about an axis along the second section 21 of the bottom wall 2

On voit sur cette figure les quatre profilés 41, 42, 43, 44 et 61, 62, 63, 64 des deux parois 4 et 6.The figure 3 shows a state of the tank where the walls 3 and 5 are laid flat parallel to the plane of the bottom. The wall 4 and in the intermediate position between the upright position and the flat position. The wall 6 is further straightened. This figure shows the four sections 41, 42, 43, 44 and 61, 62, 63, 64 of the two walls 4 and 6.

The figure 4 shows the bin in its flat state occupying a minimum volume. It is observed that the bottom wall comprises four reinforcing pieces 26 27 28 29 wedged at the four corners. These parts comprise faces perpendicular to the plane of the bottom and which have a height such as that seen on the figure 4 slightly protrude from the upper surface of the folded side walls. These raised portions form supports for bins folded and stack them on each other without the upper tray comes to bear on the side walls folded. These are not subject to efforts likely to damage them.

The figure 5 shows in section a first section of one of the side wall frames, for example the profile 31 cooperating with the second section of the corresponding bottom wall, here the bottom wall is formed of a frame which shows the second section 21.

The first profile 31 of the side wall 3 comprises two wings 31a and 31b forming a U and between which the panel 35, not shown, of the side wall 3 is slid and held. The second profile 21 is in the form of a bracket with a portion 21d in the extension of the flanges of the profile 31 and a portion perpendicular thereto. This last part comprises two wings 21a and 21b forming a U and between which the panel 25, not shown, of the bottom wall is slid and held. The two profiles are in contact with each other over their entire length by complementary shaped surfaces such as tongue and groove to ensure transverse wedging. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention the two sections are interconnected by a hinge 10 over at least a part of their common length. This hinge is a strip of flexible material forming a hinge axis and around which the profile 31 can pivot relative to the profile 21. By arranging the flexible strip on one side of the profiles, the hinge is allowed in one direction only, towards the hinge. inside the tank. The profile is prevented from rotating on the other side. The flexible strip may be attached to both profiles in any suitable manner however it may be advantageous to make the two profiles and the hinge strip by co-extruding the two sections into a plastic material and the strip into another plastic material. The hinge connection between the first profile 31 of the side wall and the second section 21 forming the frame of the bottom wall 2 has been described. The others can be made in the same way: the first profile 41 with the second profile respectively. 22, the first profile 51 with the second profile 23 and the first section 61 with the second profile 24.

The upper edges of the four side walls comprise locking means in pairs. On the figure 6 the locking means is shown between the wall 3 and the adjacent wall 6. In the extension of the profile 33 On the frame 30 is mounted a first locking element 36 with lugs 36a. On the frame 60 of the wall 6 is mounted a second locking member 67. This element 67 comprises a return 67a projecting at right angles to the wall 6, along its vertical edge 64. The return 67a includes housing 67b for the lugs 36a. As we see on the figure 7 a tongue 36b on the first element 36 engages a stop 67c on the second element 67. This tongue 36b is integral with an elastic portion 36c of the first locking element and can be disengaged when a spring force is exerted. pressure on this elastic part.

It is observed that the locking elements are extended upwardly each of a vertical wing 36d and 67d. These wings form wedging means when a tray is stacked on the other. The vertical load of the upper tray is taken up by the vertical sections 62-64 and 42-44 of the transverse lateral walls.

The bins are used as follows.

When the tray is in volume we have the objects inside and we can stack several bins. The efforts are taken up by the frames and the profiles of the walls and not by the panels retained and maintained by the frames.

To fold the bins just unlock the four locking means at the four upper corners. The wall 3 is folded first against the bottom wall 2 and then the wall 5 which is parallel thereto is folded down. It comes on the wall 3. Then successively fold the other two walls 4 and 6. The hinges of the four walls are advantageously slightly different heights so as to allow the stack of the latter in the folded position.

For the setting volume is carried out the reverse operations.

Claims (4)

  1. Folding tray (1) comprising a base (2) and lateral walls (3, 4, 5, 6), wherein the lateral walls can move between an upright position with respect to the base and a folded position, folded flat with respect to the base, wherein at least two lateral walls (4, 6) are formed by a rigid frame (40, 60) which supports a panel, and wherein said frame is articulated along the length of the base, a folding tray characterised in that:
    - the frames of said lateral walls comprise a first profiled rail (31, 41, 51, 61) fastened to the base by a flexible attachment (10) which forms the articulation between the first profiled rail and the base,
    - the base (2) comprises second profiled rails (21, 22, 23, 24) along one of its edges,
    - the first profiled rails (31, 41, 51, 61) are guided along the length of the second profiled rails (21, 22, 23, 24) and are fastened to them by said flexible attachment (10), wherein the first and second rails are co-extruded with the flexible attachment.
  2. Tray according to claim 1, wherein at least one part of the lateral walls comprises at least a third profiled rail which is vertically supported on the base when the walls are upright.
  3. Tray according to the previous claim, wherein the base comprises corner reinforcement parts, wherein the third vertical profiled rails are supported on said reinforcement parts when upright.
  4. Tray according to any of the previous claims, wherein the lateral walls comprise means of locking in pairs so as to hold the lateral walls in the upright position.
