Description
The invention relates to a device for cleaning russhaltiger air, as caused by candles.
In churches are often tables or racks with a large number of burning candles, so-called offering tables, which results in a locally high soot emission. However, soot deposits are a particular problem in churches and cathedrals, with candle soot accounting for up to 50% of pollution in churches. Similar problems arise in other places where a plurality of candles are placed, for example. In restaurants.
Such parts are often susceptible to repair and cause at least some noise. This is undesirable and disturbing in ecclesiastical institutions.
In
It is an object of the invention to provide a device as simple as possible, for example, a sacrificial table, in which the soy-containing air of a plurality of candles is cleaned due to pure Konvektionsströmung, which thus has no moving parts.
This object is achieved by a device as defined in the patent claims.
The invention is based on the amazingly simple approach that united by guide surfaces of the air cleaning filter frame the heated by candle flames of several candles air to a common air flow, and driven only by convection, can be passed through a filter.
The inventive device thus works purely on the basis of thermal and thus comes without fans or the like. It therefore causes no - especially in churches enormously disturbing - noises.
It has even been shown that the device without fans has further advantages in addition to these points. A convection airflow has a relatively low velocity. The dwell time in the filter is correspondingly high. The probability that a soot particle is deposited - in an electrostatic filter after it has been electrostatically charged, for example, by the addition of a ion - increases accordingly, also due to the principle of diffusion of the particles. This causes an increased efficiency of the inventive approach especially in the smaller particles, which are otherwise very difficult to filter and are also respirable and thus particularly harmful to health. The increased efficiency also allows a lower installation height and associated lower cost of a filter.

- In
- It is known that a Russian of candles is also heavily dependent on draft or general air currents. Therefore, a slow but continuous air flow is generated, which is offset from the vertical by the candles. Ascending air from the individual candles is deflected away from the vertical by deflecting guide surfaces and then forms this air flow - together with the air deflected by the other candles. This prevents warm ascending air, for example from a lower candle, from influencing the burning behavior of a candle arranged above it.
- The deflecting guide surfaces preferably include the following:
- A first guide surface which is located above each footprint and which is disposed at least in sections at a first angle to the vertical, wherein the first angle is less than 90 °. The first guide surface deflects the ascending russian air from a vertical through the candle seats "backwards" or "inwards".
- A second guide surface, which is located laterally (seen from the candle viewer in the generally "behind") the shelves. The second guide surface limits the air flow in the lateral direction. It preferably extends lower end up to the footprint and upper end further upwards than a lower end of the first guide surface (ie, it "protrudes above the upper limit of the candle place").
- The second guide surface may, for example, be arranged at least in sections at a second angle to the vertical, wherein the second angle is smaller than the first, so that then an upwardly narrowing region is formed similar to an obliquely upwardly sloping chimney.
- The second guide surface for a candle place can directly connect to or even be formed by a first guide surface of an underlying candle place.
- Most preferably, the common air flow begins at the lowest footprint. This contributes to the fact that the air flow is largely laminar, since due to this construction in the region of the common air flow (the air flow area) no moving air masses flow past stationary air masses. The air flow area can be formed like a shaft. It can start at the level of the lowest floor space or have a lower inlet opening for air flowing in from below.
- The individual shelves can be arranged in superimposed rows directly above one another or offset from one another. Direct, but also offset, superposed shelves are preferably spaced and insulated from each other so that an upper candle is not melted by a lower. This is preferably done by forming a cavity between the guide surface for the heated air from a lower candle and the footprint of an upper candle.
- As a filter known particulate filter can be used, which are preferably noiseless or at least low noise. Especially suitable are filters without flow resistance, such as electrostatic filters.
- When using the device as a sacrificial table, but also in other uses, for example in restaurants, at events or events, should also be taken into account that these can be used individually, in existing Installations should be integrable and not expensive. In addition, a reliable, low-maintenance and low-cost operation of the device should be possible. There are also certain aesthetic requirements, especially in sacrificial tables, so that technical elements should be kept to a minimum and should not be visible as far as possible.
- All of these requirements - along with highly efficient air purification - can be achieved with the device according to the invention.
- The frame of the inventive device is preferably configured externally in simple forms and has, for example, outer walls that define a cube-cylinder or spherical outer shape. The shelves, the filter and the guide surfaces are preferably integrated into the frame. The candle places are preferably accessible from an outside or a front side of the frame. More preferably, they are shielded on three sides by horizontal draft and accessible and visible only from one side. In this case, the device is preferably constructed so that the air duct - for example. In a kind of fireplace or air duct - on a side facing away from a user of the frame is concentrated.
- Embodiments of sacrificial tables will be described in more detail below with reference to drawings. The inventive device is not limited to sacrificial tables or the use of the device in churches or ecclesiastical structures. It can be used everywhere where it is desired to purify air that has been burnt by candles. In the drawings show:

-
FIGS. 1a and 1b (not according to the claimed invention) show a schematically illustrated lateral cross-section and a front view of a sacrificial table, in which a plurality ofcandle places 3 are provided on asingle footprint 2. The frame 1 is open to the front, to allow introduction of and access to the candles 4, for example, for lighting, blowing, disposal of empty candlelight vessels, etc., - and of course in particular the viewing of the candles. As inFIG. 2 can be seen, located in an upper region of the frame, anair purification filter 5, preferably an electrostatic filter. Air heated by a burning candle rises by convection as indicated by arrows, passes through the filter and passes up out of the frame. The frame has a corresponding support or attachment means for the filter and is open above the filter. As it passes through the filter, it cleans the russian air. A necessary depending on the filter type power supply of the filter is not shown in the figures. - On the
contiguous footprint 2, the candle places do not have to be predetermined, if necessary, the entire surface can be used for placement of candles. The candle places can essentially also be predefined by the front opening. The guide surfaces for guiding the air flow are formed by the side walls of the frame 1. - The sacrificial table shown is very simple and simple, has no moving parts, causes corresponding no noise and is easy to maintain. It is inexpensive to buy and maintain, especially since pollution and correspondingly expensive cleaning of building walls can be massively reduced. A trained as a stand sacrificial table is also very mobile and versatile. If a sacrificial table has a certain width, several stand devices may be present for stability reasons.
- In
FIG. 3 a further, particularly preferred embodiment of an inventive sacrificial table in the form of a wall box is shown. In a cube-shaped in its outer dimensions frame 11 a plurality of superimposed, contiguous shelves 2 are introduced. The front of theframe 11 has arranged in a regular patternsquare access openings 6. Behind these access openings or windows are thecandle seats 3 on the respective shelves. - The shelves are limited to a front, a user facing part of the frame, while in the rear, wall-side part, the air can freely go up to and through the
filter 5. Thefilter 5 also extends only in the rear, wall-side part of theframe 11. To optimize an air flow to thefilter 5, form walls - for example made of sheet metal - of the frame respectively over the candle places or over the entire shelves the ascending air deflecting guide surfaces. 7 - The deflecting
guide surfaces 7 include first guide surfaces 7.1 which are located above each footprint and which deflect upward ascending russian air from a vertical through the candle locations. In addition, second guide surfaces 7.2 are present, which limit the ascending air flow towards the rear. The first guide surfaces for the one candle place and the second guide surfaces for the overlying candle place are made in the illustrated variant together from a single, bent or bent sheet metal. In the figure it can be seen how between the first and second guide surfaces of the upwardly taperingchimney 14 is formed, is directed by the warm rising air in the rear of the frame. The tapered fireplace results in particular because preferably the second guide surface protrudes beyond the lower end of the first guide surface, more preferably even over the footprint of the overlying candle. - Subsequent to the tapered chimney, the air enters an
airflow area 15. This acts as a kind of duct-like further chimney in which the air flow from the different candles is combined and from where the air is passed directly through the filter. Due to this construction heated air does not reach the upper candle and can not disturb the combustion behavior caused by the draft caused by it. In addition, the fireplace-like guaranteed Air ducting a slow, regular draft through the filter that optimizes the filter performance of a filter. - The air passes through the
access openings 6 in the frame. The upward flow through the air flow area in the rear part of the frame can draw additional air through these openings. It forms a leading up through the filter, at least partially vertical air flow. In the event that like inFIG. 3 (and also inFigures 4a-4c ) define the candle places a vertical plane, the air flow is thus substantially parallel and offset to this plane. The air flow and thus the air cleaning is very efficient purely due to convection, which is triggered by the burning candles in the device. - Try with the in the
FIG. 3 illustrated device according to the invention have shown that up to 70-80% of the soot is filtered on the air. The unexpectedly good result can be explained as a direct consequence of the procedure according to the invention. The convection air flow has a relatively low velocity. The dwell time in the filter is correspondingly high. In the case of an electrostatic filter, there is thus a lot of time available to ionize the particles through the guided aerosol particle and to deflect them in the electric field. - The deflecting
guide surfaces 7 can simultaneously have a function in connection with the thermal insulation between stacked candle places. As inFIG. 3 can be seen, for example, creates a sheet or plate due to its angled relative to the horizontal footprint arrangement an additional separation between two directly superimposed candle seats. It forms a cavity between the footprint and the deflectingguide surface 7 for the underlying candle. This will Prevents a candle from heating directly above a footprint or a candle place from below. -
FIGS. 4a c show a variant of the sacrificial table ofFig. 3 in the form of a wall box or wall frame. The offering table is as inFigure 4c shown, fastened by means of suitable fastening means 12 to a wall. InFigure 4c only a first guide surface 7.1 is shown. Of course, the variant that can be fastened to a wall can also be mixed with the second guide surfaces, which is particularly preferred. - The offering table of
Fig. 3 may comprise an array ofaccess openings 6 substantially similar to that of the embodiment of FIGFig. 4a equivalent. - The
FIGS. 5, 6a and 6b show an externally cylindrical sacrificial table, in which individual rows ofshelves 2 are arranged regularly one above the other, wherein the individual candle places 3 are offset from each other in directly superimposed rows. The arranged on the circumference of the cylinder in theframe 51access window 6 to the individual candle places are offset from each other accordingly. It is again possible to make the shelves in the individual rows contiguous, running circular and provide everywhere on the shelves or only in the access windows candle places, but also a footprint and a candle place per access window. - As in
FIGS. 5 and 6b , Shown in a longitudinal and a cross section, the shelves are located exclusively in a radially outward region of the device. Inside the cylinder, a central, chimney-like passage 13 is provided for ascending air. At the top of thecylindrical frame 51, at the end of thepassage 13, a filter is introduced through which the heated air is passed and thereby cleaned. - The sacrificial table has at its lower end, for example lateral,
air inlet openings 58 in order to allow a draft extending through the entire cylinder in thepassage 13. Such additional air inlet openings are located here below the lowest candle place, so that the air duct is the same for all candle places. InFIG. 5 the air flow is indicated by arrows. The air heated by the candles unites with the central air flow inside the cylinder, whereby, as in the previous example, a kind of suction effect can occur. - In turn, around the filter deflecting
guide surfaces 7 are mounted, which direct the warm, russhaltige air of the uppermost candles directly to the filter. At underlying candle seats no deflectingguide surfaces 7 are located, but there are preferably also where appropriate. -
FIGS. 7, 8a and 8b (not according to the claimed invention) show a spherical sacrificial table, which can be shown as a stand device, but can also be hung as a ball. - The
frame 71 consists essentially of two symmetrically nested, different sized balls. The space between the two balls is provided as anair passage 23. At the highest point of the two balls in thepassage 23, a filter is provided, through which flows through in the passage ascending air and cleaned out of theframe 71 exits. Theouter ball 71 b is essentially divided into two hemispheres (bottom lid). A space between the hemispheres serves as a completely open access opening 6 with access to the candle places. The access opening can be realized for example by a raised attachment of the upper hemisphere, but also by removing a part of the upper and / or lower hemisphere. - Between the inner
smaller ball 71a and theouter ball 71b is located at or slightly below the height of the access opening, a continuouscircumferential footprint 2 having a plurality of candle places. - The outer ball has in its lowest area an
air inlet opening 8, through which air from the bottom of the frame in thepassage 23 between the balls, is guided past the candles to the filter. - If the floor space is interrupted, an air flow can also be directed upwards between the shelves.
- There are a plurality of further embodiments of the sacrificial table possible, in particular with respect to forms of the frame, forms and arrangements of access windows, etc. For example, shelves, candle places and access windows are chosen and matched so that an insertion and removal of candles is easily possible and good visibility of the candles is guaranteed. Also, the inventive device is not limited to sacrificial tables and their use in churches or ecclesiastical structures. It can be used everywhere where it is desired to purify air that has been burnt by candles.
-
FIGS. 9a, 9b and 10 show a freestanding, cube-shaped sacrificial table with2x5 access windows 6. The design of the sacrificial table, as well as the air duct, is in essentially over the entire height of the offering table similar to that outFIG. 4 , The sacrificial table is designed as a freestanding variant and has for this purpose aframe 91 with afoot part 98.
