Solche Tafeln werden bei bekannten Vorrichtungen zur Evakuierung eines Gebäudes verwendet, die neben Überwachungssensoren, wie beispielsweise Rauchmelder und/oder Kameras, auch eine zentrale Rechenanlage aufweisen, mit denen die Sensordaten der Überwachungssensoren ausgewertet und in Abhängigkeit dieser Daten die Fluchtweganzeigen zur Anzeige eines gefahrenfreien Fluchtwegs angesteuert werden. Als Datenverbindung zwischen der zentralen Rechenanlage, den Überwachungssensoren sowie den Fluchtwegsanzeigen werden bekannte drahtgebundene Datenverbindungen verwendet.
