- A rotary printing machine,a) comprising a printing unit featuring a central cylinder (3) and two printing cylinders (1) which each form a printing gap with the central cylinder (3),b) wherein the two printing cylinders (1) are arranged diagonally opposite each other across the central cylinder (3), andc) the two printing cylinders (1) form a pair of printing cylinders (4; 5) which can only be applied to or retracted from the central cylinder (3) simultaneously,d) wherein the printing unit comprises two additional printing cylinders (1) arranged diagonally opposite each other across the central cylinder (3), and the two additional printing cylinders (1) form an additional pair of printing cylinders (4; 5) which can only be applied to or retracted from the central cylinder (3) simultaneously,
characterised in thate) the rotary printing machine is designed such that when the two pairs of printing cylinders (4; 5) are applied to and/or retracted from the central cylinder (3), the first/second pair of printing cylinders (4; 5) is applied chronologically before the second/first pair of printing cylinders (5; 4) and retracted chronologically after the second/first pair of printing cylinders (5; 4). - The rotary printing machine according to claim 1, wherein each of the printing cylinders (1) is assigned a form cylinder (2).
- The rotary printing machine according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first and second pair of printing cylinders (4; 5) can be applied to and/or retracted from the central cylinder (3) simultaneously.
- The rotary printing machine according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pairs of printing cylinders (4; 5) are applied to and/or retracted from the central cylinder (3) by a mechanical or electronic control means.
- The rotary printing machine according to the preceding claim, wherein the control means only allows the pairs of printing cylinders (4; 5) to be applied to and/or retracted from the central cylinder (3) simultaneously.
- The rotary printing machine according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the form cylinder (2) exhibits a diameter which changes as viewed across its length, such that a cylinder diameter which is preferably the same on both sides of the cylinder increases continuously from the two sides towards the centre of the cylinder.
- The rotary printing machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it is a web-fed printing machine.
- A method for changing films in a rotary printing machine comprising a satellite printing unit, wherein four printing cylinders (1) forming a printing gap with a central cylinder (3) form two pairs of printing cylinders (4; 5), wherein the printing cylinders (1) respectively forming a pair are diagonally opposite each other, and the printing cylinders (1) are only applied to and retracted from the central cylinder (3) in pairs.
- The method according to the preceding claim, wherein forces (F1; F2) which act perpendicularly on the rotational axis (R) of the central cylinder (3) from the printing cylinders (1), which are arranged diagonally opposite each other, when the printing cylinders (1) are applied cancel each other out.
