Definitions
- the invention relates to a shower head for a shower with
- a second part connected to the first part which is designed as a discharge element whose receiving space communicates in at least one type of operation of the shower head with a second end of the water supply channel and whose outer edge forms an overflow edge in this area in an area over which water can flow out;
- the second part also has a plurality of nozzle-like outlet openings which, at least in a second type of operation of the shower head, communicate with the second end of the water-guiding channel and through which a plurality of effervescent jets can then emerge.
- shower heads have gained considerable popularity, in which at least in one mode, the water does not escape in a plurality of individual jets, but it is possible to produce a kind of "water curtain", which has a discharge edge of an inclined, upwardly open outlet element , z. B. a curved outlet shell, exceeds.
- Such shower heads not only have an unusual, eye-catching aesthetic character;
- the outlet element has a technical function: it consists of first distributing the water leaving the box-like first part over a relatively large area and then allowing it to flow out in free fall, resulting in the desired substantially closed curtain of water.
- a small waterfall is simulated in some ways, causing many users a sense of well-being.
- a shower head of the type mentioned is known from DE 102 19 943 B4.
- the nozzle-like outlet openings are in an area of the lateral surface of the housing-like first part, in the embodiment shown in Figure 3 embodiment in a flow body piercing the outlet shell and a significantly smaller diameter than this outlet shell has.
- the area over which the plurality of nozzle-like outlet openings is distributed is relatively small.
- Object of the present invention is to design a shower head of the type mentioned so that the production is simplified and the spray pattern is low.
- the nozzle-like outlet openings are arranged in the lower part.
- the outlet element is effectively made “double-walled” and the resulting interior space is used as a water distribution space over which the water spread over a large area and so can reach a variety of large-area distributed nozzle-like outlet openings.
- These outlet openings can be found on that side of the outlet element which is opposite to the side over which the water in the first mode of operation drains off as a "water curtain".
- Part is divided between the upper part and lower part by at least one intermediate wall in at least two subspaces, which are independently acted upon by water.
- the most diverse spray patterns can be generated, since the water can be guided in each case through different groups of nozzle-like outlet openings, which are each assigned to one of the independently loadable partial spaces.
- the nozzle-like outlet openings are expediently gene formed in an elastic insert, which is arranged on the inside of the lower part. As a result, the risk of calcification of the nozzle-like outlet openings is reduced.
- a particularly favorable possibility to effect the changeover between different types of operation of the shower head is that the second part is adjustable relative to the first part between at least two positions, each of these positions being associated with a type of operation of the shower head.
- Figure 1 is a side view of a shower head
- Figure 2 is a plan view of the shower head of FIG.
- Figure 3 is a section along the line B-B of Figure 2 in a first type of operation of the shower head
- Figure 4 is a section similar to Figure 3, but in a second type of operation of the shower head
- Figure 5 is a section along the line A-A of Figure 2 in the first mode of operation of the shower head
- FIG. 6 shows a section, similar to Figure 5, in the second type of operation of the shower head.
- the shower head 1 shown in the drawing is for a shower head determines and has a first part Tl and a second part T2.
- the first part T1 in a tubular housing 4 comprises a water supply pipe 3, which forms a water guide channel 2.
- the water guide tube 3 has at one end a water inlet opening surrounded by a thread 5, to which a water pipe, not shown here, for example a flexible hose, is to be connected. Via a changeover valve V, the water is supplied to the second part T2 in a manner described in more detail below.
- the second part T2 is an outlet element and comprises a concave curved outflow tray 21 seen from above, the exact construction will be explained below and has on its underside a plurality of outlet openings A2. These are formed like a nozzle and can each form a shower spray in a known manner.
- the second part T2 is composed of an upper part 15 and a lower part 16, which are each simple, also seen from above concavely, having a common center of curvature owning shells.
- Upper part 15 and lower part 16 are interconnected at their outer edges so that a closed inner space 14 is formed between them, with which the outlet openings A2 communicate.
- an insert 17 is applied to the lower part 16, in which the outlet openings A2 are formed.
- the insert 17 is made of rubber-elastic material.
- the shell-shaped upper part 15 has an overflow edge 22 on a right-hand portion of its radially outer edge in FIG.
- a cylindrical collar 35 is formed, whose axis is parallel to the axis of the upper part 15 itself ( Figures 3 and 4).
- a hood-shaped cover 18 is placed from above and locked with this.
- a downwardly extending from the radially outer edge of the lid 18 skirt 36 ends with its lower edge partially (in Figures 3 and 4 right) at a distance from the cup-shaped upper part 15 and in this way forms an outlet opening Al, over which water in yet can be described to flow from the lying radially inside the skirt 36 space in the lying radially outside the skirt 36 space.
- the lid 18 has integrally on the underside a support member 20 which rests on an axis 24. This is in turn formed on the top of the water guide tube 3.
- the second part T2 has a continuous opening 27 into which the first part T1 engages from below.
- the opening 27 is sized so that the second part T2 is pivotable about the axis 24 between an upper and a lower pivot position back and forth.
- the second part T2 is shown in the upper pivot position, in which the overflow edge 22 is located approximately in a horizontal plane.
- the axis of the outlet part 21 formed by the second part T2 is approximately vertical.
- the direction of the pivoting movement is indicated, with which the second part T2 can be moved about the axis 24 in the lower pivot position shown in Figure 4.
- the plane in which the overflow edge is 22 is inclined relative to the horizontal.
- the overflow edge 22 is thereby moved downward, while the diametrically opposite region 29 of the edge of the outlet shell 21 moves upward in accordance with arrow 30.
- the pivot angle which lies between the two pivot positions shown in Figures 3 and 4, is suitably limited.
- the changeover valve V is formed by a region Bl of the first part Tl and a region B2 of the second part T2.
- the area Bl of the part T1 has in cross-section, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, approximately the shape of a not quite closed ellipse whose major axis is at an acute angle to the vertical. It has two lateral outlet openings 7, of which in Figures 3 and 4 only one, in contrast, both in Figures 5 and 6 are recognizable. These outlet openings 7 are circular openings which lead laterally out of the space 6, which is enclosed by the area Bl and communicates with the water guide channel 2 in the water-guiding tube 3 of the first part T1. The flow direction through the outlet openings 7 is thus substantially at right angles to the flow direction in the water guide channel 2.
- One of the two outlet openings 7 is formed in a wall 12, which is inserted in the manner of a lid in a side Liehe opening 13 of the peripheral wall 11 of the region Bl.
- the other outlet opening 7, in Figures 5 and 6, the right, is located in an integrally formed on the peripheral wall 11 side wall of the area Bl. If the second part T2 of the shower head 1 is located in the upper pivot position shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, then the outlet openings 7 of the area B1 are in each case in communication with an inlet opening 8 of the area B2 of the second part T2, as in FIG is shown.
- These inlet openings 8 are formed in two mutually parallel scenes 19 which are integrally formed on the lower part 16 of the times part T2, as can be seen in Figures 5 and 6.
- the inlet openings 8 lead in the already mentioned
- Rubber-elastic sealing means 10 are inserted; they are used to seal the scenes 19 with respect to the area Bl of the first part Tl. They are designed so that the area Bl along the inside of the scenes 19 is displaced.
- the second inlet openings 9 in the scenes 19 are connected to a space 31 which is bounded by the lid 18, the skirt 36 and the upper part 15. This room leads over the o. G. Outlet opening Al in the upwardly open receiving space 26 of the outlet shell 21. Now flows through the water supply channel 2 water, so this passes back into the space 6, which is surrounded by the area Bl of the first part Tl. Again, the water flows laterally through the outlet openings 7, but now through the second inlet openings 9 outwardly into the space 31. From there, the water passes through the outlet opening Al in the receiving space 26 of the outlet shell 21. Since now the overflow edge 22 down and the diametrically opposite edge 29 are offset upwards, the water flows from the receiving space 26 via the overflow edge 22 in a closed curtain down.
- the second inlet openings 9 are closed in the scenes 19 again by the area Bl of the first part Tl and the outlet openings 7 of the area Bl with the lower inlet openings. 8 the scenes 19 connected.
- the water then flows through the majority of the lower outlet openings A2 and no longer via the outlet shell 21.
- this inner space 14 may also be divided by intermediate walls, so that by a suitable conversion of the water supply Groups of outlet nozzles A2 can be supplied with water to produce different jet images.
