Abstract

The skin (1) has a skin side and a gluing side for detachably fastening under a bearing surface of skis having edges, by a ski tip in a direction of a ski end, where the skin has a connected, integrated, and bifurcated form. Skin straps (11) are attached to a head part (10), and are passed into even skin strap regions (14) in a flexible direction from the head part over a narrow joint point (12) and an adjustable section (13). The strap regions correspond to breadth of the edges such that the skin is adapted to breadth and shape of the bearing surface and is fastenable to the ski.

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical area

The present invention describes a climbing skin having a fur side and an adhesive side for releasable, adhesive attachment under a tread of a ski with edges, from a ski tip towards the ski end, comprising two fur strips.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The climbing skin for skis is a kind of climbing aid and has been known for some time. It is used to climb mountains away from slopes and ski lifts while allowing the user to ski downhill, which can only be achieved by autonomous locomotion. The trend today is to increasingly difficult climbs and extreme downhills, the skier is constantly in search of new individual descents.

Before the ascent, the climbing skins are attached to the running surfaces of the skis with adhesive glue, the fur side of the climbing skins making contact with the ground. The fur stroke is oriented so that the climbing skin supports forward sliding and reverse sticking. Since real animal skins, such as seals, were used in former times, the material and the processing of climbing skins has been further optimized, which is why nowadays climbing skins made of several plastic layers are used, which in some cases have better climbing properties and adhesive properties. However, climbing skins with mohair (fur of the Angora goat) will continue to be produced, thus achieving the best gliding and climbing properties.

So that skins can be mounted on the tread of every commercially available ski, differently wide, long climbing skins adapted to the waist of the different skis are available on the market.

With the development of ever wider freeride skis, which are especially beneficial for deep snow, new types of skins had to be developed. Like in the DE 9304437 U1 described it is problematic, Steigfelle, which have adapted to touring skis, Steigfellbreiten to use with wider, or over-wide skis. The slim climbing skins optimized for touring skis can not protect wide skis against slipping back on the mountain. A mere widening of the climbing skin width does not lead to an acceptable result, as it reduces the gliding properties of the wide deep snow skis so much that gliding is hardly possible and the skis would have to be raised during the ascent.

To achieve sufficient sliding properties and good Stip properties describes the DE 9304437 U1 a climbing skin, which is a sticking of two separate independent fur strips along the edges of a ski on the tread of a ski, the width of the individual fur strips is dimensioned so that between the fur strips the tread of the ski is visible and thus in direct contact with the ground can occur. Another embodiment describes a fitting with which the two independent fur strips can be connected to each other, whereby the mounting of the fur strips on the tread is simplified.

Like in the DE 9304437 U1 mentioned the correct alignment and sticking of the independent fur strips associated with a greater amount of time and not very user-friendly. The use of several parts makes it difficult to attach the fur strips at the tread of the skis considerably. The orientation of the individual fur strips in the area of the ski tip is certainly problematic, since each individual fur strip has a variable starting point and the fur strip after fixing at a starting point can not be aligned. An exact alignment of the fur strips, covering the edges, along the sidecut along the entire ski is not possible.

Also, the use of a fitting, with which the individual strips of fur are connected, does not significantly improve the situation. The fitting fixes the fur strips in the area of the top of the kind that no alignment of the fur strips along the edges towards the ski end is no longer possible. In addition, a clamping is an unsafe connection of the fur strips with each other and with the ski and with each other, which will lead to problems. Due to the two independent fur strips, it is possible that a single fur strip from the fitting dissolves, whereby the function of the ski skin is severely impaired.

Beschreibungdescription

Commercially available skis 2, which are used in conjunction with a climbing skin 1 for ascending mountain slopes, in addition to a ski tip 24 and a ski end 25 on a tread 20, which comes directly into contact with the snow-covered ground. To be able to brake and control the skis 2 are provided with edges 22, which are preferably metallic fittings, which are embedded in the running surfaces 20 and extend from the ski tip 23 in the direction of the ski end 24 along the longitudinal sides of the running surfaces 20. By tilting the skis 2, wherein the angle between the edges 22 and the ground is varied, the skier is able to control and brake.

In the FIG. 1 is the shape of a typical freeride ski 2, which offers advantages when driving in deep snow through the special sidecut, as an example. It is conspicuous that the skis 2 are increasingly waisted in recent years, with large changes in the tread width in the course of the way from ski tip 23 to the ski 24 result. There are therefore no longer only a few standardized tread shapes, which takes into account the inventive climbing skin 1 presented here.

The climbing skin 1 has a fur side 16 and an adhesive side 17 and is glued to the tread 20 with the adhesive side 17, so that the fur side 16 comes into contact with the snow-covered ground and can suppress a backward sliding of the ski 2. The climbing skin 1 consists of two fur strips 11, which open into a common head part 10, so that the climbing skin 1 has a continuous, one-piece, forked shape. At the transition between the head part 10 and the two fur strips 11 is in each case a tapered joint 12, which merges into a fitting section 13. The tapered joint 12 allows the Alignment of the fitting section 13 relative to the longitudinal axis of the head part 10, wherein the fitting section 13 includes a variable fitting angle 130 with the longitudinal axis of the head part 10.

The articulation point 12 allows the alignment of the fitting section 13 in the direction of the edges 22 for differently shaped skis 2. Once the appropriate fitting angle 130 is reached, the fitting section 13 in this orientation by sticking the fitting section 13 on the tread 20 in the region of the ski tip 23rd be fixed. In each case a directionally flexible, straight fur strip area 14 adjoins the fitting section 13, which is glued along the edges 22 near the edges of the running surface 20 as far as the ski end 24. The width of the straight fur strip area is made about as wide as the width of the edges 22 so that the climbing skin 1 has the desired climbing properties, by allowing short downhill passages to be slid forward and avoiding rearward slipping. Of course, the width of the straight fur strip area 14 may not be so great that the two fur strips 11 overlap in the waisted area of the skis.

The shape of the fitting section 13 may be arcuate in shape and widen successively until the transition into the straight fur strip area 14. But there are also s-shaped fitting sections 13, as well as the insertion of one or more tapering points 15, which create analogous to the joints 12 further alignment possibilities of the fitting section 13 and parts of the fitting section 13 relative to the head part 10 can be produced.

Diese Verjüngungsstellen 15 erlauben die Ausrichtung des geraden Fellstreifenbereichs 14 entlang der Taillierung des Skis 2 bis hin zum Skiende 24.In order to make the straight fur strip region 14 along the ski 2 of the waisting of the tread 20 improved in an adaptable manner, here too one or more tapering points 15 can be provided, which are isolated or periodically incorporated into the straight fur strip region 14. These Tapering points 15 allow the alignment of the straight fur strip area 14 along the sidecut of the ski 2 to the ski end 24.

To attach the climbing skin 1, the head part 10 is first adhesively attached to the ski tip 23. Subsequently, the hinge point 12 of a fur strip 11 is held and aligned the fitting section 13 and the corresponding fitting angle 130 so that the fitting section 13 adapted to the respective geometry of the tip of the ski 23, outwardly aligned in the direction of the edges 22 and the subsequent straight fur strip area 14th parallel to the edges of the tread 20 can be aligned.

Depending on the waisting of the used ski 2, the straight fur strip region 14 can be aligned along the running surface 20 as far as the ski end 24 at the one tapering point 15 or a plurality of tapering points 15 which can be arranged periodically.

Optionally, the head part 10 can be completely or partially clamped in a suspension device 3, so that both fur strips 11 can be fastened on the running surface 20 by the suspension device 3, which is suspended threading over the ski tip 23. As indicated in the figures, the suspension device 3 may consist of a bracket. The bracket is tiltably movable and through a piece or the entire head part 10 is threaded, turned over and glued by means of the adhesive side 17. A somewhat more elaborate clamping construction is movably attached to the bracket and clamps a piece or the entire head part 10 a.

In a particular embodiment, the suspension device 3 is provided with at least one tongue 30, which by a cut slit in the climbing skin 1 from the adhesive side 17, the climbing skin 1 crossing and exiting from the fur side 16, is guided.
