Description
- La présente invention concerne une antenne large bande à conservation de diagramme de rayonnement.
- Il existe un certain nombre de topologies d'antenne large bande en terme de VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) (rapport tension taux d'ondes stationnaires) susceptibles d'être utilisées dans différents domaines d'application (commercial, militaire, industriel, ...).
- Ainsi, à titre d'exemples, les topologies les plus répandues sont : les antennes indépendantes de la fréquence (spirale, log-périodique), les dipôles large bande (elliptique, volumique, planaire ...). Ces topologies peuvent être utilisées dans le cadre de la réalisation d'antennes directives ou omnidirectionnelles.
- Sous une autre forme, l'augmentation de la bande passante peut être réalisée par le biais de l'ajout d'un circuit d'accord (matching network), pouvant incorporer un nombre variable de composants discrets ou pseudo-localisés (capacités, inductances, résistances, transformateurs, etc.).
- Un des problèmes associés à l'introduction d'un circuit d'accord réside dans les limitations physiques induites par l'utilisation de composants. Ainsi, ces solutions ne permettent en rien de modifier ou conformer les caractéristiques de rayonnement de l'élément rayonnant élémentaire. En outre, un circuit d'accord réduira l'efficacité et la tenue en puissance intrinsèque de l'élément rayonnant. Pour autant, l'utilisation des topologies large bande précédemment citées ne permettent pas, malgré certaines propriétés de conformation du rayonnement, de réaliser des structures compatibles avec l'intégralité des applications.
- Ainsi, vis-à-vis de leur facteur forme, ces antennes doivent présenter des dimensions proches de la longueur d'ondes. En outre, pour obtenir une couverture omnidirectionnelle, les facteurs de formes classiques (antennes filaires), ne peuvent être respectés et de ce fait compliquent l'intégration d'antennes à conservation de faisceau sur des applications de types portatifs ou véhiculaires.
- Avec l'avènement de nouvelles normes de communications utilisant des signaux temporels, ces antennes souffrent aussi de problèmes de dispersion vis-à-vis de la position du centre de phase qui rendent difficile, si ce n'est impossible, la mise en oeuvre de tels systèmes.
- Pour autant, plusieurs structures ont été développées dans l'optique de pallier aux problèmes mentionnés précédemment.
- On connaît par le brevet
US 6 339 409 une antenne formée par un enroulement d'une unique feuille électriquement conductrice ayant une forme en triangle rectangle. - La demande de brevet
US 2006/0071873 décrit une antenne telle que mentionnée ci-dessus, reliée à un disque formant une masse. - Le brevet
US 4 527 163 décrit une antenne monostrip comportant un élément extérieur formé par une feuille découpée présentant une forme de Y. - La présente invention vise notamment à remédier aux inconvénients mentionnés précédemment liés aux antennes connues par le biais d'une construction innovante.
- L'invention a ainsi pour objet une antenne comportant :
- au moins un élément rayonnant longitudinal central,
- au moins un élément extérieur comportant au moins un enroulement d'une feuille électriquement conductrice disposé autour de l'élément rayonnant central, sans contact électrique entre eux, l'élément extérieur présentant une hauteur strictement décroissante ou alternativement croissante et décroissante le long de l'enroulement.
- L'antenne selon l'invention peut être utilisée seule ou comme élément d'antenne dans un réseau d'antennes identiques ou différentes, et, selon le cas, en contact ou non avec une masse.
- Dans un exemple de mise en oeuvre de l'invention, la feuille électriquement conductrice formant l'élément extérieur comporte un premier côté définissant la hauteur maximale de l'élément extérieur et un deuxième côté, notamment perpendiculaire au premier, définissant une base de l'élément extérieur.
- La feuille conductrice peut par exemple présenter une forme en triangle rectangle ou comporter un troisième côté reliant les deux premiers et ayant une forme exponentielle décroissante.
- En variante, la feuille conductrice peut comporter un troisième côté reliant les premier et deuxième côtés et formé par une succession de créneaux.
- La hauteur minimale de l'élément extérieur peut être nulle ou, en variante, non nulle.
- La feuille conductrice peut présenter par exemple une forme de triangle rectangle, tronqué ou non à un sommet.
- Dans un exemple de mise en oeuvre de l'invention, l'élément extérieur comprend un enroulement d'une feuille conductrice ayant une forme en triangle isocèle dont la base définit la hauteur maximale de l'élément extérieur.
- L'élément extérieur peut être enroulé en spirale, notamment en spirale à pas variable, en particulier en spirale logarithmique.
- Le profil de la feuille constituant l'élément extérieur peut être continu ou formé d'une succession de parties planes.
- L'enroulement de la feuille conductrice peut être réalisé depuis l'une ou l'autre des extrémités de celle-ci, et de l'intérieur vers l'extérieur, ou de l'extérieur vers l'intérieur par rapport à l'élément rayonnant central.
- L'élément rayonnant central peut être de tout type.
- Par exemple, l'élément rayonnant peut être de type dipolaire, notamment un dipôle imprimé ou cylindrique.
- L'élément extérieur peut être considéré comme un transformateur d'impédance lorsque celui-ci est agencé pour fonctionner sans contact avec une masse et uniquement par couplage électromagnétique. L'antenne est alors dite « à profil continu ».
- Dans un autre exemple de mise en oeuvre de l'invention, l'élément extérieur est agencé pour fonctionner en contact avec une masse et peut être considéré comme une extension de cette masse. L'antenne est alors dite « à manchon adaptatif ».
- L'élément rayonnant peut être un monopôle, un dipôle, une hélice, une ellipse ou une combinaison de ces éléments.
- L'élément rayonnant peut être un dipôle imprimé ou cylindrique, par exemple.
- Tous les éléments de l'antenne peuvent être formés à partir de matériaux conducteurs ou comporter des cartes de circuit imprimé.
- L'élément rayonnant central et l'élément extérieur peuvent être entourés par un matériau diélectrique, notamment en étant au moins partiellement noyés dans le matériau diélectrique. En variante, on peut utiliser un matériau diélectrique en feuille enroulée autour de l'élément rayonnant central et de l'élément extérieur.
- Que l'élément extérieur soit associé à une masse ou non, et selon la périodicité de cet élément extérieur, l'antenne selon l'invention peut être à ultra-large bande ou de type multi-bande.
- L'adaptation large bande ainsi que la forte efficacité de l'antenne selon l'invention permet le fonctionnement de celle-ci en forte puissance.
- L'invention permet en outre la miniaturisation de l'antenne, avec des dimensions de l'ordre du dixième de la longueur d'onde.
- L'antenne selon l'invention peut ainsi être utilisée dans tous types d'applications notamment pour des appareils portatifs ou véhiculaires.
- Elle peut notamment être utilisée pour les applications mobiles, notamment dans le domaine des appareils portatifs ou des véhicules, ou, en variante, utilisée dans des infrastructures, par exemple dans le domaine des stations de base.
- L'invention permet en outre d'obtenir un diagramme de rayonnement sélectionné pour être directionnel, sectoriel (mise en réseau de l'antenne) ou omnidirectionnel.
- L'invention permet notamment les avantages suivants:
- l'obtention d'un diagramme de rayonnement sensiblement constant, en mode dipolaire, directif ou autre, sur sa bande de fonctionnement,
- une forte efficacité du fait de la topologie de l'antenne,
- la conservation de sa caractéristique large bande dans un grand nombre d'environnements d'intégration, notamment en environnement utilisant un plan de masse,
- un encombrement réduit au vu de sa caractéristique large bande.
- L'invention pourra être mieux comprise à la lecture de la description détaillée qui va suivre, d'exemples de mise en oeuvre non limitatifs de l'invention, et à l'examen du dessin annexé, sur lequel :
- la
figure 1 représente, schématiquement et partiellement, une antenne avec un élément rayonnant dipolaire conforme à l'invention, - la
figure 2 est une vue schématique de dessus de l'antenne de lafigure 1 , - la
figure 3 représente, schématiquement et partiellement, la feuille conductrice servant à former l'élément extérieur de l'antenne de lafigure 1 , - les
figures 4 à 7 représentent, schématiquement et partiellement, d'autres exemples de feuilles pouvant être utilisées pour former l'élément extérieur de l'antenne selon l'invention, et - la
figure 8 représente, schématiquement et partiellement, une antenne monopolaire conforme à un exemple de mise en oeuvre de l'invention. - On a représenté sur la
figure 1 une antenne 1 dite « à profil continu » comportant un élément rayonnant central 2 de type dipolaire d'axe longitudinal X et un élément extérieur 3, partiellement qualifié de parasite représenté en pointillés, entourant l'élément rayonnant 2. - L'antenne 1 illustrée comporte un matériau diélectrique 4 dans lequel sont au moins partiellement noyés l'élément rayonnant 2 et l'élément extérieur 3.
- En variante, l'élément rayonnant 2 et l'élément extérieur 3 peuvent être séparés par de l'air.
- L'élément rayonnant 2 peut être de tout type, par exemple un dipôle imprimé ou cylindrique, et présenter la forme d'une tige.
- L'élément extérieur 3 peut être considéré comme une charge adaptative, et n'est relié à aucune masse.
- Dans l'exemple considéré, l'élément extérieur 3 est formé d'un enroulement d'une feuille électriquement conductrice 5 ayant une forme de triangle isocèle, comme illustré sur la
figure 3 . En variante, la forme du triangle pourrait être quelconque. - La feuille 5 peut être enroulée suivant une spirale, par exemple une spirale à pas variable, comme on peut le voir sur la
figure 2 . - La hauteur maximale H de l'élément extérieur 3 mesurée suivant l'axe X correspond à la longueur H de la base du triangle isocèle de la feuille 5.
- Dans l'exemple considéré, la hauteur minimale de l'élément extérieur 3 le long de l'enroulement est nulle, correspondant au sommet S du triangle isocèle opposé à la base.
- L'antenne 1 peut être du type à bande d'adaptation ultra large.
- L'élément extérieur 3 peut présenter d'autres formes.
- Par exemple, comme illustré sur la
figure 4 , l'élément extérieur 3 peut être formé à partir d'une feuille conductrice 5 ayant une forme de triangle rectangle. - En variante, la feuille conductrice 5 peut présenter une forme de triangle rectangle tronqué, de manière à ce que l'élément extérieur 3 présente une hauteur minimale le long de l'enroulement qui est non nulle.
- Comme illustré sur la
figure 6 , la feuille conductrice 5 peut en variante présenter deux côtés perpendiculaires et un troisième côté ayant une forme curviligne de type exponentiel décroissant. - Comme illustré sur la
figure 7 , la feuille conductrice 5 peut présenter un côté formé par une succession de créneaux, la hauteur de l'élément extérieur variant le long de l'enroulement en étant alternativement croissante et décroissante. - On a représenté sur la
figure 8 une antenne 10 dite « à manchon adaptatif » conforme à un autre exemple de mise en oeuvre de l'invention. - Cette antenne 10 est de type monopôle, et comporte un élément rayonnant central 11, un élément extérieur 12 enroulé autour de l'élément rayonnant 11 et une masse 13, à laquelle est relié l'élément extérieur 12. L'élément extérieur peut être réalisé d'un seul tenant avec la masse.
- Les éléments 11 et 12 peuvent être réalisés en matériau conducteur ou, en variante, à partir de cartes de circuit imprimé.
- En variante encore, l'élément rayonnant 11 peut être du type dipolaire.
- L'élément extérieur 12 peut être considéré comme une extension de la masse 13.
- Dans l'exemple considéré, l'élément extérieur 12 est formé d'un enroulement d'une feuille ayant une forme en triangle rectangle.
- L'élément extérieur 12 peut, bien entendu, présenter une autre des formes décrites ci-dessus.
- L'antenne 10 peut permettre d'obtenir une bande d'adaptation ultra large.
- L'influence de la masse 13 sur le fonctionnement de l'antenne peut être extrêmement faible grâce à l'invention.
- L'élément rayonnant 11 peut être monobloc ou constitué de plusieurs éléments assemblés.
- Dans les exemples illustrés, l'élément rayonnant central et l'élément extérieur sont concentriques.
- En variante, l'élément rayonnant central pourrait être excentré par rapport à l'élément extérieur.
Claims (13)
- Antenne (1 ; 10) comportant :- au moins un élément rayonnant longitudinal central (2 ; 11),- au moins un élément extérieur (3 ; 12) comportant au moins un enroulement d'une feuille électriquement conductrice (5) disposé autour de l'élément rayonnant central, sans contact électrique entre eux, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément extérieur (3 ; 12) présente une hauteur strictement décroissante ou alternativement croissante et décroissante le long de l'enroulement.
- Antenne selon la revendication 1, caractérisée par le fait que la feuille conductrice (5) possède un premier côté définissant une hauteur maximale (H) de l'élément extérieur et un deuxième côté, notamment perpendiculaire au premier, définissant une base de l'élément extérieur.
- Antenne selon la revendication 2, caractérisée par le fait que la feuille conductrice (5) présente une forme en triangle rectangle.
- Antenne selon la revendication 2, caractérisée par le fait que la feuille conductrice comprend un troisième côté reliant les deux premiers et ayant une forme exponentielle décroissante.
- Antenne selon la revendication 2, caractérisée par le fait que la feuille conductrice comprend un troisième côté reliant les premier et deuxième et formé par une succession de créneaux.
- Antenne selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée par le fait que la hauteur minimale de l'élément extérieur est non nulle.
- Antenne selon la revendication 1, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément extérieur comprend un enroulement d'une feuille conductrice (5) ayant une forme en triangle isocèle dont la base définit la hauteur maximale (H) de l'élément extérieur.
- Antenne selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément extérieur est enroulé en spirale, notamment en spirale à pas variable.
- Antenne selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément extérieur est agencé pour fonctionner sans contact avec une masse.
- Antenne selon la revendication 9, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément rayonnant central (2) est un dipôle.
- Antenne selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 8, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément extérieur est agencé pour fonctionner en contact avec une masse (13).
- Antenne selon la revendication 11, caractérisée par le fait que l'élément rayonnant central (11) est un monopôle.
- Antenne selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée par le fait qu'elle comprend un matériau diélectrique (4) entourant l'élément rayonnant central et l'élément extérieur.
