Abstract

The brake has a brake beam (6) of a rail brake, which is rotatably supported on a carrier plate (5). A U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body is fastened in a hanging manner at a base of a drive rail, where the base is inclined outwards. A base plate and a side blade of the U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body are connected with one another. Dimensions of the carrier plate and the brake beam are larger than the free spacing between two adjacent sleepers (10) of a track system in a direction of a longitudinal axis of rails.

Description

The invention relates to an electrodynamic rail brake according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.

In Eisenbahnrangieranlagen the taking advantage of gravity by a runoff mountain in the individual sorting or directional track incoming freight cars must be braked down to a defined, dependent on the degree of filling of the receiving directional track speed. For this purpose, usually rail brakes are used, which are fixedly mounted on or in the track and whose braking force is calculated and adjusted at each departing wagon by a central control authority. Electrodynamic rail brakes are a proven and widespread design for this purpose. The functional principle of the electrodynamic track brake - which is sometimes referred to as eddy current track brake - based on the fact that a substantially U-shaped trough of ferromagnetic material, each rail of the track from below embraces. With the help of electrically through coils, a magnetic field is induced in the U-shaped trough, so that an open magnetic circuit is formed, in which case the free ends of the two legs of a U-shaped trough form magnetic pole faces. On these pole faces translationally movable brake beams are mounted. The brake beams are arranged in such a way that the opposing brake beams each form a groove through which each wheel of a rail vehicle rolling on the associated travel rail must pass (so-called "brake groove"). As soon as a metal wheel of a rail vehicle passes through the brake groove between the two brake beams, the brake beams are applied or pressed against the wheel of the rail vehicle by the action of magnetic forces. By adjusting the power supply, thus, the braking force acting on the vehicle wheel can be regulated.

In practice, the dimensioning of such electrodynamic rail brakes always causes problems, since the rated power of the brake system, of course, must be laid out to the safe side and thus for the worst brake operating case. This most unfavorable case of operation is to be expected when in continuous rail vehicles with high input speed (eg as a result of an extremely smooth-running rail vehicle) a lowest possible initial speed (eg because of a nearly fully occupied receiving track and thus drastically shortened residual travel) to be achieved and at the same time unfavorable weather conditions prevail, which reduce the friction between the brake beam and the vehicle wheel.

With appropriate design of an electrodynamic rail brake arise bulky structures that require high electrical connection performance. The magnetic troughs of such systems therefore have a longitudinal extent of several meters, which sometimes causes considerable difficulties both in the production and assembly as well as in the plant control in operation. From the DE 23 11 955 For example, a special expression of the current-carrying conductor is known so that winding lengths of the order of 17 meters can be realized. Likewise in the DE 2 306 300 has already been proposed to use for the magnetic yoke instead of a one-piece iron body consisting of a plurality of mutually insulated sections existing iron body. The objective here was to reduce the de-excitation time of the magnetic yoke so that the cycle times between two processes running on the same track brake can be shortened and thus the performance of the system can be increased.
However, the constructive basic principle of the electrodynamic rail brake, according to which the U-shaped magnetic trough is the supporting element, in which the running rail is inserted, has always been maintained. This still leads to electrodynamic rail brakes bulky and bulky components that can be installed only with great technical complexity in existing track systems. Usually, when installing such brakes in an existing track a complete disassembly of the existing track and a subsequent complete rebuild the affected track section (track to the changed altitude adjust, weld, etc ...) is necessary.

The invention has for its object to provide an electrodynamic rail brake, which allows a comparison with the prior art simpler installation in existing track systems or easier maintenance of the electrodynamic rail brake. In particular, parts of the brake system, especially the U-shaped ferromagnetic iron body, without intervention in the superstructure to be interchangeable.

This object is achieved in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1 according to the invention that the U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body is attached to the foot of the running rail hanging.
This represents a departure from the previous constructive basic concept, according to which the rail is stored as it were embedded in the U-shaped trough body. The punctual attachment according to the invention lays the foundation for the fact that the Rail for assembly or disassembly work on the trough body no longer needs to be solved over a longer section and raised or removed, but it is now a targeted widening of thresholds, Aufständern the rails or even taking advantage of the track yokes with a defined threshold division already predetermined width a threshold compartment possible. This represents a significant simplification and facilitation of the technical support measures.

In addition to this, the inventive concept provides that the attachment of the U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body at the foot of the running rail comprises a plurality of hook-shaped clamping pieces which engage over the rail on its upper side and at the same time are screwed to the base plate of the U-shaped trough body. This represents an advantageous constructive implementation of the inventive concept. The screw is designed so that the screw from the rail head ago (ie from above) can be introduced.

According to a useful embodiment, the electrodynamic track brake from a plurality of individual U-shaped, each forming a magnetic trough ferromagnetic trough body constructed, each having on both legs bobbin and a pair of opposing and slidable on the pole faces of the magnetic troughs brake beams. The inventive basic principle of the suspension of the U-shaped trough body on the rail allows for the first time a division of the bulky, one-piece track brake in several individual brake modules, each working independently and are interconnected only control technology to form a whole. The individual modules are each individually controllable, which allows for a variety of possible braking scenarios and thus increases the flexibility of the system and on the other hand also increases the redundancy and thus reliability of the system.

A particularly useful development of the invention is therefore to be seen in the fact that the dimensions of the U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body in the direction of the rail longitudinal axis are smaller than the free distance between two adjacent sleepers of the track grid. In this way, the individual modules of the electrodynamic rail brake can be mounted in the threshold compartments of the existing track grid. It is now only necessary to sweep the threshold compartments to a given depth of gravel. However, exposing the threshold compartment to the depth of the sill sole is by no means required. In particular, thus can also be dispensed with the hitherto necessary, cumbersome removal of the track yoke together with subsequent assembly of the U-shaped trough body and the laying and fixing of the rails within this trough body.

It is particularly advantageous if the base plate and side legs of the U-shaped ferromagnetic trough body can be screwed together. In this way, the U-shaped trough body can be mounted in a particularly simple manner on the running rail or be dismantled from the running rail. This is of great benefit not least in the event of any repairs to the electrodynamic track brake.

The invention further provides that each brake bar is mounted displaceably on a support plate. A suitable selection of the material pairing between the brake beam and carrier plate favors the sliding of the brake strips significantly and can significantly improve the energy efficiency of the electrodynamic brake. Of course, a structurally simpler mounting of the brake beams on the pole faces of the magnetic trough is conceivable; However, this is usually accompanied by a less favorable material pairing and thus higher friction losses.

According to a useful embodiment of the invention, the dimension of the support plate and the brake beam in the direction of the rail longitudinal axis is greater than the free distance between two adjacent sleepers of a track grid, but at the same time smaller than the measure of the threshold pitch. In this context, "threshold division" is to be understood as meaning the free distance between two adjacent sleepers of the track grate plus a threshold width in the rail longitudinal direction. In this way, the installation of two electrodynamic rail brakes in adjacent threshold compartments is made possible. As a result, a compact design in the rail longitudinal direction with sufficiently good braking properties is achieved. Brake bars arranged next to one another in the rail longitudinal direction do not touch one another and thus remain movable independently of one another.

A particularly effective development of the inventive concept provides that at least one support plate is inclined outwards. In this way, it is achieved that a rail vehicle wheel, which enters the currentless and closed state of the electrodynamic brake in the brake groove formed by the opposing brake beams, these brake beams must not be forced apart. In certain applications, this is due to the friction of the brake beams On the pole faces of the magnet trough or on the support plates caused idle work undesirable. Especially when an electrodynamic track brake can be built by a juxtaposition of individual brake modules, then the lossless driving on individual currentless connected brake modules is of particular importance. It will happen again and again in practice that not all brake modules are required for each braking operation.

FIG. 1 shows the electrodynamic track brake installed in a track grid constructed from rails (2) and sleepers (10). In this case, the base plate (1) of the U-shaped trough body with the running rail (2) via the clamping pieces (3) is clamped. The side edges (4) of the U-shaped trough body are bolted to the base plate (1). The upper end of the side edges form the outwardly inclined support plates (5) on which the brake beams (6) can move in a transversely bounded by corresponding stops region transverse to the rail longitudinal direction. The braking forces acting on the brake beams along the rail are introduced into the inclined support plates (5) by head bolts (7) screwed into the brake beams (6). The head bolts move in corresponding oblong holes (across the rail) in the inclined support plates.
The inclined support plates (5) project beyond the threshold compartment and underlie the brake beams. The magnetic field of the electrodynamic brake is generated by the side legs (4) of the U-shaped trough body enclosing coils (8).
When energized coils, a magnetic field is generated such that the brake beams have different magnetic polarity. Due to the magnetic forces of attraction, the brake beams are pulled against the wheel and the magnetic circuit is closed.

The brake beams slide uphill on the inclined support plates. When the exciter current is switched off, the brake bars slide apart on the inclined plates with gravity assistance; the electrodynamic brake thus assumes its release position.
Due to the structural design of the U-shaped trough body, the brake can be installed without intervention in the superstructure in an existing track.
