Description
- This invention relates to a steam oven, particularly to one provided with a driving motor for driving a fan to rotate to convert the heat energy produced by an electric heater into hot air and send it into the accommodating chamber of the oven through the vent holes of a cover plate to cooperate with steam heated in the accommodating chamber for steaming food, able to maintain the moisture of the steamed food and keep the hot air in the accommodating chamber circulate evenly for roasting and steaming food with balance. In addition, the plate door of the steam oven of this invention can be fully closed to prevent hot air in the accommodating chamber from leaking out.
- A
conventional roaster oven 1, as shown in Fig. 1, is installed withelectric heating tubes 10 at the bottom or at the inner side to produce heat energy for roasting food placed on aroast tray 11. Generally, food to be roasted in theroast tray 11 is placed at a fixed location; therefore, the food can hardly be roasted evenly because the extent of heat energy at each place in the interior of theroaster oven 1 is not the same. For instance, the temperature of a place near theelectric heating tube 10 is comparatively high. Under the circumstances, during roasting of food, theplate door 12 of theoven 1 has to be opened frequently in order to turn over the roasted side of the food to let the food roasted evenly, thus increasing much trouble. Conventionally, food is roasted by the heat energy of theelectric heating tubes 10; therefore, the roasted food will lose its moisture and become dry and hard with poor taste. To prevent food from becoming dry after roasted, the surface of food has to be sprinkled with some water before the food is placed in the oven to be roasted; nevertheless, if water sprinkled on the surface of the food is too much or uneven, the roasted portion of the food may become excessively soft and tasteless. - In addition, referring to Figs. 2 and 3, the
conventional oven 1 is provided with two connectingrods 13 respectively having one end fixed on the inner wall of theoven 1 and the other end secured at the inner side of the plate door by afastener 16. The connectingrod 13 is bored with aslide groove 14, and theoven 1 has its inner wall fixed with aposition shaft 15 inserted in theslide groove 14 of the connectingrod 13. When theplate door 12 is opened, the connectingrod 13, with theposition shaft 15 acting as a fulcrum, will be slidably moved outward, and when theplate door 12 is fully opened, theposition shaft 15 is positioned at the inner end of theslide groove 14 of the connectingrod 13, as shown in Fig. 2. To close theplate door 12, theplate door 12 has to be forcefully pushed upward to be closed on the front side of theoven 1. Since the fulcrum of theplate door 12 is at the lower side; therefore, after theplate door 12 is closed, the upper side of theplate door 12, due to the weight of theplate door 12, will slightly be opened and unable to be fully closed, as shown in Fig. 3. Thus, during roasting of food, the hot sir in the interior of theoven 1 will escape out through thegap 17 between theoven 1 and theplate door 12, lowering roasting effect. - The objective of the invention is to offer a steam oven formed with an accommodating chamber in which hot air and steam can be kept circulating evenly, able to roast and steam food with balance and keep the moisture of the steamed food to make the food tasty. In addition, the plate door of the oven can be fully closed to prevent hot air in the accommodating chamber from leaking out.
- The first feature of the present invention is an accommodating groove provided at the bottom of the housing of the oven, and the accommodating chamber bored with a draining hole communicating with the accommodating groove. The accommodating chamber has its upper side provided with an exhaust passageway connected with regulating device, and the housing has its topside bored with lot of exhaust holes. A holding tray is received in the accommodating groove of the housing and formed with receiving chambers in the interior. A water tank is positioned in one of the receiving chambers of the holding tray, having its upper side bored with an inflow hole and its rear wall bored with an outflow hole fitted therein with a sleeve for combining a connecting pipe. Thus, food roasted and steamed with hot air and steam in the accommodating chamber can keep its moisture and make tasty.
- A second feature of the invention is a driving motor installed on the outer wall of the accommodating chamber. The driving motor has its rotating shaft inserted into the accommodating chamber and assembled thereon with a cooling fan. The accommodating chamber has its inner wall fixed with a fan and an electric heater, the fan assembled on the driving motor and the electric heater disposed around the outer circumference of the fan. Further, the housing has its bottom provided with an accommodating groove, and the accommodating chamber is bored with a draining hole communicating with the accommodating groove. The accommodating groove has its inner wall disposed with a connecting pipe connected with a water-pumping motor having the other end connected with a duct, which has the other end connected with a water-feeding pipe inserted into the accommodating chamber. An electric heating tray with a recessed hollow is positioned below the water-feeding pipe in the accommodating chamber. The accommodating chamber has its upper side provided with an exhaust passageway connected with a regulating device, and the housing has its topside bored with numerous exhaust holes. A holding tray is received in the accommodating groove of the housing and formed with receiving chambers in the interior, and a water tank is positioned in one of the receiving chambers of the holding tray. The water tank has its topside bored with an in inflow hole and its rear wall bored with an outflow hole fitted with a sleeve for combining a connecting pipe.
- In using, start the driving motor and the electric heater to actuate the fan to operate and the electric heater to produce heat energy. Simultaneously the fan will convert the heat energy produced by the electric heater into hot air and send it to the accommodating chamber through the vent holes of a cover plate. Meanwhile, the hot air will cooperate with the steam heated in the accommodating chamber for steaming food at the same time, able to maintain the moisture of the steamed food and keep the hot air circulating evenly in the accommodating chamber for steaming food with balance.
- A third feature of the invention is a fixing base secured on the inner wall of the housing. The fixing base is bored with an arc-shaped slide groove, and has its inner side fixed with a position plate and the upper side disposed with a micro-switch for controlling an illuminator in the accommodating chamber. A roller is fitted in the slide groove, and a swinging arm is pivotally positioned at one side of the fixing base and pivotally combined with the roller in the slide groove. An expansion spring has one end secured on the swinging arm and the other end hooked on the position plate of the fixing base, and the swinging arm has its upper end fixed with a push member for pressing the micro-switch. The fixing base has its outer side fixed with a connecting rod having one end pivotally combined with the roller in the slide groove and swinging arm, and the other end pivotally hooked on a position shaft on the inner wall of the plate door. Further, the fixing base has its outer edge set with a connecting plate having its outer end secured on the inner wall of the plate door. Thus, the plate door can be elastically pulled backward by the expansion spring and completely closed on the housing of the oven by mutual engagement of the elastic engage member fixed on the upper edge of the plate door and the engage groove in the upper inner wall of the housing, able to prevent hot air in the accommodating chamber from leaking out and achieve excellent effect of roasting and steaming food.

Acover plate 56 to be covered on the holdingtray 5 is bored with aninsert hole 57 aligned to the draininghole 22 at the bottom of thehousing 2 and the second receivingchamber 51 of the holdingtray 5. - The driving
motor 6 is installed on the outer wall of theaccommodating chamber 21 of thehousing 2 for driving a coolingfan 60 to rotate, as shown in Figs. 6 and 9. The drivingmotor 6 has its rotating shaft extending into theaccommodating chamber 21 and disposed thereon with afan 61. Anelectric heater 62 is installed around thefan 61 and has its outer circumference secured withplural studs 63. Acover plate 64 to be threadably assembled on thestuds 63 in theaccommodating chamber 21 is bored with insert holes 65 respectively matching with thestuds 63 for assembling thecover plate 64 on thestuds 63 bybolts 66. Thecover plate 64 is further bored with lots of vent holes 67 exactly positioned in front of thefan 61 and theelectric heater 62. Moreover, theaccommodating chamber 21 of thehousing 2 has its outer wall covered with awrapping layer 68 and installed with aradiator 69. - The fixing
base 7 is positioned upright near an the inner wall of thehousing 2 and bored with an arc-shapedslide groove 70, as shown in Figs. 7 and 8. The fixingbase 7 has one side provided with aposition plate 71 and has its upper side disposed with a micro-switch 72 with a press-contact strip 720 and acontact projection 721 for controlling anilluminator 73 in theaccommodating chamber 21. A rolling 74 is assembled in theslide groove 70 of the fixingbase 7, and a swingingarm 75 has its lower end pivotally fixed on the fixingbase 7 by apivot 76 and its intermediate portion pivotally combined with theroller 74 in theslide groove 70 of the fixingbase 7 and its upper side secured thereon with apush member 77. Anextension spring 78 has one end hooked on the swingingarm 75 and the other end hooked on theposition plate 71 of the fixingbase 7. - The connecting
rod 8 is positioned at the outer side of the fixingbase 7, having one end pivotally combined with both theroller 74 in theslide groove 70 and the swingingarm 75 and the other end formed with ahook 80 hooked on aposition shaft 90 of theplate door 9. The fixingbase 7 further has its outer edge secured with a connectingplate 79 extending outward to be fixed at the inner side of theplate door 9 by apivot 94. Theplate door 9 has its upper edge provided with an elastic engagemember 92 with an engageprojection 93 to be engaged and positioned in an engagegroove 29 in the inner wall of the front upper wall of thehousing 2. Furthermore, theplate door 9 is provided with ahandle 92. - In using, as shown in Figs. 4-15, firstly, pour water into the
water tank 52 through theinflow hole 53 and position thecover plate 56 on the holdingtray 5 and then deposit the holdingtray 5 and thecover plate 56 in theaccommodating groove 20 of thehousing 2 and have thesleeve 55 of thewater tank 52 fitted with the connectingpipe 23 in theaccommodating chamber 21, letting theinsert hole 57 of thecover plate 56 aligned to the draininghole 22 at the bottom of thehousing 2. Next, the water in thewater tank 52 is pumped by the water-pumpingmotor 24 and conveyed to thewater feeding pipe 26 in thehousing 2 to flow into the recessed hollow 30 of theelectric heating tray 3. Subsequently, respectively turn the control selectors on the upper outer wall of thehousing 2 to set time, temperature and function for roasting and steaming food according to practical needs, and then start theelectric heater 62 in theaccommodating chamber 21 for heating and make theelectric heating tube 31 of theelectric heating tray 3 electrically connected for heating the water in the recessed hollow 30 of theelectric heating tray 3 to produce steam. Then, start the drivingmotor 6 to operate and actuate thefan 61 to rotate and convert the heat energy produced by theelectric heater 62 into hot air to be sent into theaccommodating chamber 21 through the vent holes 67 of thecover plate 64 to cooperate with the steam heated by theelectric heating tray 3 for carrying out roasting and steaming of food. By so designing, the hot air in theaccommodating chamber 21 can circulate evenly and quickly, able to roast and steam food with balance, prevent steamed food from becoming dry and hard and make the steamed food tasty. - In the course of food steaming, the steam in the
accommodating chamber 21 has to be timely exhausted out so as to regulate the inner pressure. The steam volume exhausted can be regulated bysteam regulating button 43. For example, when thesteam regulating button 43 is turned and the blockingmember 41 of theregulating device 4 is actuated to rotate and let its semi-circular throughhole 410 aligned to the semi-circular throughhole 421 of the fixingbase 42, the steam volume exhausted will reach a maximum, as shown in Fig. 12. Thus, thesteam regulating selector 43 can be turned to adjust the size of thecommon opening 49 formed by the semi-circular throughhole 410 of the blockingmember 41 turned to open the semi-circular throughhole 421 of the fixingbase 42 to a certain extent for regulating the steam volume exhausted, as shown in Fig. 13. In addition, the steam in theaccommodating chamber 21 can be exhausted out of thehousing 2 through theexhaust passageway 27, the throughhole 410 of the blockingmember 41 and throughhole 421 of the fixingbase 42 as well as the exhaust holes 28 at the topside of thehousing 2. - Further, part of the steam in the
accommodating chamber 21, after cooling, will be condensed into water to drop to the bottom of theaccommodating chamber 21 and then flow into the receivingchamber 51 of the holdingtray 5 through both the draininghole 22 at the bottom of theaccommodating chamber 21 and theinsert hole 57 of thecover plate 56. When thewater tank 52 is to be filled with water or when the water gathered in the receivingchamber 51 of the holdingtray 5 is to be poured out, simply draw out the holdingtray 5 from theaccommodating groove 20 at the bottom of thehousing 2. - Furthermore, to open the
plate door 9 of the oven, as shown in Fig. 11, only press down the elastic engagemember 92 on the upper edge of theplate door 9 to disengage it from the engagegroove 29 in the upper inner wall of thehousing 2 and then hold thehandle 94 to open theplate door 9. When theplate door 9, with thepivot 91 of the connectingplate 79 serving as a fulcrum, is turned open, the connectingrod 8 having one end hooked on theinner position shaft 90 ofplate door 9 will be moved outward together with theplate door 9. Simultaneously, the inner end of the connectingrod 8, which is pivotally connected with theroller 74, will actuate both theroller 74 and the upper end of the swingingarm 75 to move along theslide groove 70, and meanwhile the swingingarm 75, with thepivot 76 acting as a fulcrum, will be turned outward and actuate theexpansion spring 78 to be in an elastically extended state, as shown in Figs. 14 and 15. When the swingingarm 75 is turned outward, thepush member 77 at the upper end of the swingingarm 75 will be moved away from the micro-switch 72, and at this time themicro-switch 72 will be off and theilluminator 73 in theaccommodating chamber 21 will be turned off. When theplate door 9 is fully opened, theroller 74 of the connectingrod 8 and the swingingarm 75 will be positioned at the outer end of theslide groove 70. - To close the
plate door 9, only slightly push theplate door 9 backward. Theplate door 9, with thepivot 91 on the connectingplate 79 acting as a fulcrum, will be reversely turned inward and theexpansion spring 78 will recover its elastic force and pull the swingingarm 75 backward. In the meantime, the swingingarm 75, with thepivot 76 serving as a fulcrum, will be turned reversely to actuate theroller 74 and the connectingrod 8 to move backward along theslide groove 70 until theplate door 9 is closed completely. At this time, thepush member 77 on the upper edge of the swingingarm 75 will push against the press-contact strip 720 of the micro-switch 72 to press thecontact projection 721 to turn the micro-switch 72 on and theilluminator 73 in the accommodating chamber be turned on for facilitating a user to watch the condition of food being roasted and steamed in theaccommodating chamber 21. When theplate door 9 is closed, the elastic engagemember 92 at the upper edge of theplate door 9 will be elastically compressed by the upper inner wall of thehousing 2, and after the engageprojection 93 of the elastic engagemember 92 is positioned in the engagegroove 29 of thehousing 2, as shown in Fig. 10, the elastic engagemember 92 will recover its resilience and force the engageprojection 93 to be firmly engaged in the engagegroove 29 to make the upper portion of theplate door 9 fully closed on thehousing 2. By so designing, theplate door 9 can be pulled backward by the elastic force of theexpansion spring 78 and surely closed on thehousing 2 by the mutual engagement of the engageprojection 93 of the elastic engagemember 92 and the engagegroove 29 of thehousing 2, thus forming no gap between theplate door 9 and thehousing 2 to prevent hot air in theaccommodating chamber 21 from leaking out and achieve excellent effect of food steaming. - While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
