Description

Beschreibung !Description !

The invention relates to an arrangement for exchanging ink-printing modules or ink-jet cartridges, in particular in a franking and / or addressing machine.
It has been proven to exploit the advantages of ink printing also in the field of mechanical franking and / or addressing. The printing takes place without contact by means of ink print head, see for example DE 44 24 771 C1 and EP 0 696 509 B1 ,
When using commercial inkjet printers for office printers, they are typically part of an inkjet print module, meaning that the inkjet print head and cartridge form a single unit.

In the office printer, the ink printing module is forcibly guided locked in a shaft-shaped receiving device. When the ink is used up, the ink pressure module must be replaced. This is done by pulling by hand. To do this, first disengage a locking lever, grasp the ink pressure module on a corner of the handle with two fingers, and pass the locking lever at an angle, for example, see the HP DeskJet 1220C User Guide of 10/1999.
In contrast to the space conditions in office printers, the accessibility to the ink printing modules in franking machines is much more limited, so that a replacement is problematic.

It has already been found a franking machine with a printing system with two ink pressure modules and an associated cleaning and sealing device, see DE 10 2005 052 150.9 ,
The printing system consists of a frame, two inkjet modules and an associated dual-fan shaft-shaped receptacle for the two.
Each inkjet print module consists of an inkjet print head, ink supply, chip, and contact pad. The mating contacts are fitted in the receptacle adapted.
The ink printing modules are arranged parallel but offset from each other to achieve the required printing gap length.
The receptacle is pivotally mounted about an axis which is fixed in the frame. For priming and for sealing the ink jet print head, the receptacle is pivoted so far away from the printing position into a position that the nozzle surface thereof is directed downwards. At the same time this is the position in which a replacement of the ink pressure module is possible.
The printing position and the sealing position are therefore determined by clearly defined positions of the ink jet print head and the cleaning and sealing device.
In addition, various cleaning areas are provided. In a cleaning area in front of the sealing position, the ink jet print head is out of the Printing position pivoted so far away that the nozzle surface is arranged in the engagement region of the wiper lips of the cleaning and sealing device. During the wiping process, the wiper lips strip over both the nozzle surface and along two side edges, resulting in the latter to Tintenrestablagerungen. When pulling the inkjet printing module, these deposits can contaminate the mating contacts and consequently jeopardize the reliability of the printing device.
This effect is exacerbated when the printing device is provided with an additional ink supply system, as in this case significantly more wiping and thus larger deposits incurred.
Another problem is that when pulling or plugging the ink pressure module, the aforementioned edge along the mating contacts along and this will be damaged. The greater the scope for replacement, the greater the risk of misalignment and consequently of wear.

Purpose of the invention is to improve the reliability and prolong the life of the printing device.

The invention has for its object to provide an arrangement for easy and safe replacement of an ink printing module in a franking and / or addressing machine. In particular, a slight pulling is to allow and contamination and mechanical impairment of the mating contacts for the ink pressure module can be prevented.

For simplicity and ease of understanding, the illustration is partially schematic.

In Fig. 1 is in the top wall of a postage meter housing 1, a service flap 10 is provided, which extends into the region of the guide plate 101 for the print carrier. The service flap 10 is shown in the open state, so that the receptacle 12 with the two printing modules 11 is visible. The inner cover 102 serves for preventing unauthorized access to the franking machine. The space underneath can be used for additional ink tanks.

In Fig. 2 a receptacle 12 for / with two printing modules / n 11 is shown. The printing modules 11 are completely inserted and fixed in each case by means of an associated bolt 121. The receptacle 12 consists of two side walls 122, 123 and a common double-angled carrier 126, whose integral part is an unspecified center wall. In this way, two chambers for receiving the printing modules 11 are formed. The side walls 122, 123 are substantially - left side wall 122 is slightly longer - designed mirror-symmetrical, so that the further description can be limited to the left side wall 122.
In a recess of the side wall 122 inside a pull hook 120 is guided, which serves to facilitate the removal of the printing module 11. The tow hook 120 protrudes at one end of the receptacle 12 upwards and is at this end with a suitable handle opening - hole - provided. At the opposite end an axis 1201 is fixed, which projects through a slot 1225 in the side wall 122. At the free end of the axis 1201 a tension spring 127 is mounted, the other end is fixed to a recessed into the side wall 122 pin 1222. In this way, the tension spring 127 serves as a return spring for the tow hook pulled 120th
Below the lower edge of the side wall 122, an axle 1261 is inserted in the middle wall with the cover 12612 slid. The pad 12611 serves as a wiper for the lower trailing edge of the printing module 11, see also Fig. 3 and 5 the following.
A guide lever 125 for the right hitch 120 is pivotally mounted in the right side wall 123, closer see also Fig. 3 and 5 the following.

In Fig. 3 For example, the left side wall 122 and the right side wall 123 are detached, the latch 121 for the left pressure module 11 is folded back, and the same is taken out. The latch 121 for the right print module 11 is closed.
It can be clearly seen how the tow hook 120 is guided in the right side wall 123 and the guide lever 125 in an unspecified appropriately adapted recess of the tow hook 120 intervenes. The guide lever 125 is pivotally mounted on an axis 1231, which is inserted on the one hand in the side wall 123 and on the other hand in a nose of the rear wall of the carrier 126. The same applies to the left axis 1221. The axis 1231 also serves as the upper connection between the right side wall 123 and support 126. The lower connection and distancing by means of a pin 1232, which also also serves to suspend the tension spring 127 for the tow hook 120. In the lower region of the right-hand side wall 123, two guide springs 1233, 1234 designed as leaf springs are fastened on both sides of the guide for the pull hook 120, which serve for elastic fixation of the pressure module 11. Accordingly, two further guide springs 1263, 1264 - not visible - attached to the center wall of the carrier 126. See also the guide springs 1223, 1224, 1264, 1263 front and rear for the printing module 11 in the left chamber of the receptacle 12th
The pad 12611 is pushed onto the axle 1261 as an exchangeable roller made of an absorbent material.
In the rear wall of the carrier 126, a counterpart 12651 to the contact pad 112 of the printing module 11 is resiliently inserted in the lower region and also resiliently a counterpart 12652 for Kon-taktierung of the module chip 114 of the printing module 11, see also Fig. 4 ,
As can be clearly seen in detail A, a vertically extending spring piece 12654 in the form of a flat web chamfered at the ends is inserted in the free area of the counterpart contact pad 12651. This spring piece 12654 serves as a deflector to protect the contacts. Similarly, the function of a spring pin 12653 inserted above the counterpart 12652, which is released when the latch 121 is open, to safely break the electrical contact.

According to Fig. 4 a commercially available printing module 11 in the lower part of an ink jet print head 110 having a located on the bottom nozzle surface 111 with rounded trailing edge 1111. In the area of the ink jet print head 110 at the back of the printing module 11, the contact pad 112 in the form of two angles, which are arranged mirror-symmetrically spaced , Above the contact field 112, the chip holder 113 is arranged with the module chip 114. The chip holder 113 has vertically extending guide webs 1131 on the sides and is beveled up and down.

At the rounded upper rear edge of the pressure module 11, a locking lug 115 is formed, which is adapted to the contour of the bolt 121. In the front shell an unspecified grip part is provided.

In Fig. 5 the positional relationships are shown with completely inserted and locked pressure modules 11 with the left side wall 122 removed. The latch 121 are non-positively on the top of the print modules 11. The back of the printing modules 11 is parallel to the support rear wall 1265. The nozzle surfaces 111 of the ink print heads 110 protrude parallel to each other and to the underside of the carrier 126 out of this. The roller 12611 abuts against the back side of the associated ink jet print head 110. The hitch 120 is fully inserted and the tension spring 127 is shortened to a minimum. The two-armed guide lever 124 is formed with its shorter upper lever arm end in the associated recess of the Zughakens 120 and lies with its longer lower lever arm end in a round throat of the support rear wall 1265. Transverse to the Hebelarmende a nose is formed, which lies in the engagement region of the guide bar 1131.
In detail B, the positional relationships are shown in the region of the module chip 114 and above. The pressure module 11 is frictionally engaged with its locking lug 115 on the end face of the spring pin 12653, so that this completely immersed in the support rear wall 1265. The module chip 114 and its counterpart 12652 are contacted with each other.

In Fig. 6 the latch 121 is completely folded back and thus the left ink pressure module 11 unlocked but still fully inserted into the receptacle 12; likewise the tow hook 120.
As seen in detail C, so that the spring pin 12653 is released and presses the ink pressure module so far forward that the contact between the module chip 114 and counterpart 12652 and contact pad 112 and counterpart 12651 is repealed. This effect is further supported by the spring piece 12654.

In Fig. 7 the tow hook 120 is pulled up so far that the guide lever 124 with its shorter upper Hebelarmende the associated Leaves recess of the tow hook 120 and rests against the linear part. With the nose of the longer lower lever arm end, the guide lever 124 slides along the guide web 1131 of the chip holder 113. The ink pressure module 11 is pushed by the action of the guide lever 124 so far forward until it rests with its front on a forwardly inclined front wall - not specified - the receptacle 12. The spring piece 12654 is completely released and the contact between contact pad 112 and counterpart 12651 is canceled. The lower trailing edge 1111 of the nozzle face 111 of the ink pressure module 11 slides past the pad 12621, thereby getting rid of protruding ink residues.

In Fig. 8 If the pull hook 120 is pulled up to the upper stop within the slot 1225, see also Fig. 3 , The lower trailing edge 1111 of the nozzle surface 111 of the ink pressure module 11 rests on the spring piece 12654, which prevents contact of the counterpart 12651 with the contact field 112. The ink pressure module 11 now projects so far out of the receptacle 12 that it is easy to grasp by hand. The tow hook 120 is returned by the tension spring 127 to its original position, the ink pressure module 11 remains in its last position, see Fig. 9 ,

By the measures described above, once an easily accessible pulling the ink pressure module 11 by means of pull hook 120 is possible. On the other hand, wear on the contact surfaces is prevented by the combination of pull hook 120 with guide lever 124, 125 and spring pin 12653 and spring piece 12654 and guide webs 1131 on the chip holder 113. Finally, an additional protection of the contact surfaces from ink residues by a stripping device - axis 1262 with pad 12621 - for the trailing edge 1111 of the nozzle surface 111 of the ink jet print head 110 is achieved.
